I Love seeing these wet flies you do, and there aren’t a lot of folks on here tying and teaching them anymore. Almost feels like it’s a dying or lost art and again, just rare when I get a chance to see someone winging flies like this which makes your spot on RUclips a unique and special one. With all of that being said, I would like to see a few more of the wets that incorporate tails using peacock sword tied up on your channel if you’re up to it. Love the Dr. Burke, and that might be a good one to record in the future?

Mike, I agree with you. It seems the quicker synthetic flies seem to be what is mostly popular these days. Too bad, the older wet flies, streamers, Spey & Dee flies as well as Atlantic Salmon flies have such a rich history and style that they deserves to be kept alive.
I will make a note to look out for wet flies with peacock sword in the wing and tail. I actually did a video on the Dr. Burke already ( ruclips.net/video/zlb6_uWVtfk/видео.html ). - Ian Anderson

    Oh that’s really cool looking
Out of curiosity would you be open to a couple of requests for patterns from Ray’s book?

@@DressedIrons I’d really like to see one of his dry fly spiders and one of the fan wing dries. I don’t have the book with me on the road to look at names, but the wing styles were somewhat confusing for me to understand.

Amanda, I will look into those patterns and get something on the calendar. In the meantime, when you get the book in hand, feel free to send me an email ( ian[at]dressedirons[dot]com ) with the specific flies. We'll get something done! - Ian Anderson
