I couldn't imagine you not covering the sailboat. I had one of my old boats shrink-wrapped for three years while I was on assignment overseas. After we returned, I had a fitted canvas cover made and the payback was after the second winter. Stay warm!
I did this exact same thing about fifteen years ago. Used 1/8th cable, side to side as collar ties plus 2/4s vertical to shore up the ridge pipe.this thing was as sturdy as I could make it and was large enough to park my mom's jeep with my boat. The shelter was also next to a large trucks as is yours in close proximity to your shop. The first snow of the season was 24 inches in 24 hours . Snow piled up between the two putting a severe side load on the boat shelter, plus the roof load causing a catastrophic collapse. The boat suffered some damage to the railings and other small stuff, horn, searchlight, etc. Jeep was a total loss.
Well done, cheaper than building a new structure. Money well spent.
👍I think we’ll get a little use out of it
@@motorcityboatwerks I think so, just have to wait for warmer weather.
The door is going to be a challenge. If you build a wall with a walk through door would be best. Then after work completion take the wall down.
This could work

I will stop by soon. Let me know a good time 👍
Will the open front stop condensation? I had to add a second layer of poly to stop it raining inside my shed - which had a door.
Plenty of air flow. So condensation is not a problem. Thanks for your comment 🐙
