      The best way to get a TN visa is by applying at the port of entry, as explained in the video. To find a job, you need to polish your resume and apply online. Stay tuned for a future video on how to optimize your resume to maximize your chances for landing a job faster.

      As an engineer, having at least a bachelor's degree should suffice for meeting the education requirements for a TN visa.

      Usually you would need a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, but feel free to check with a lawyer. You many find the following link helpful:

      Yes, you are qualified if you have a bachelor's degree in engineering, assuming your job offer is in an engineering area related to your qualifications.

    Is it mandatory to have experience in the field that you are applying or just udemy certification is enough?

    • @rl2346g
      @rl2346g 8 месяцев назад

      No you need bachelors degree. Udemy certification does not even have any exam its just attendance certification. Also even if they have you had exams still not eligible as you need diploma as a proof.

    • @ThriveInUSA-Canada

      Udemy and other online courses help develop your skills, but they aren't relevant for obtaining a TN visa.

      Yes, you can travel to Canada and anywhere else in the world as many times you wish on a TN visa, just like any other visa.

    Does the offer letter have to state an end date as the TN visa is initially valid for three years ? I have been offered a permanent full time job, so there is no end date

    • @ThriveInUSA-Canada
      @ThriveInUSA-Canada  Месяц назад

      The letter to the officer should state an end date within the next 3 years, but the job offer you receive is commonly a permanent normal full-time job. Luckily, many employers have a good legal team that prepares all the documentation you need. They know all the details so you don't have to worry about it.

    • @ThriveInUSA-Canada

      I'm not sure. You would have to check the list of professions eligible for TN. I haven't seen anything related to marketing and communication, but I haven't done a thorough search on that.

      You have to make sure that your profession falls in the list of those that qualify for a TN visa. Usually, a bachelor's degree is required. Feel free to check with a lawyer as well.

    Hi, do you know if I have to stay in US under the TN visa or if I can return to Canada to work remotely?

    • @ThriveInUSA-Canada
      @ThriveInUSA-Canada  8 месяцев назад

      You don't need a TN visa to work remotely for a US company while physically being in Canada. If your existing TN visa expires after an extended stay in Canada, you can easily reapply for a new TN visa.

      Question for you - if you have a finance degree and want to get a TN visa... the only "business related" options are accounting and economics under the NAFTA eligible degrees... what are the odds i can get across with my finance degree?@@ThriveInUSA-Canada

    • @ThriveInUSA-Canada

      If your job and degree are at least somewhat related, you should be able to get the TN visa. Personally, my bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees were all in electrical engineering but I got my TN visa for a job in optical engineering which is a different engineering discipline, but I still had the required skills to thrive in the job.@@oliverb6967

    • @ThriveInUSA-Canada

      In the application, you can state that you are authorized to work and then in the interview process, explain to the manager that you don't need sponsorship but a letter to present to the customs officer at the US port of entry. Emphasize how easy, cheap and fast obtaining the TN visa is.

      The employer should send you a standard letter covering details of your job to show to the immigration officer. Your dependents can study in the US. If your spouse wants to work, he has to get his own TN visa.
