- HELLO. Here is something sad :'D Warning for like. 2 graphic images from when he first got his scar but that's it.
So when ATLA came back on Netflix I of course rewatched it like everyone and god. I've been thinking about this poor boy.
I wanted to make this look clean and nice but it took forever to finish :') in the future I think I'll make more like, sketchy animatic type things so I can do more stuff.
ANYWAY I hope you enjoyed! If you like my stuff consider subbing! I've got more stuff like this coming in the future. (not all of it will be sad I promise lol)

Sometimes it’s easy to forgot Zuko was only 13 when he got his scar...
Love how this really reminds how young Zuko (and Azula) are during tla.
Zuko is 16 and Azula is only 14....
Yeah, they really are just children who were forced to grow up too fast :')
So at the fight we saw Azusa as a 11 year old
Actually, avatar was in the span of a few months. Hence, the lack of time Aang had to train as the avatar and master all the elements. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I doubt Avatar took 3 years.
Imagine being crowned fire lord at the age of 14..
Honestly i feel terrible for Azula
She deserved better
The fact that Zuko has probably cried because of all this offscreen many times makes it even more sad. Like imagine being the 'hated child', living in your younger sister's shadow all the time, and the only person who truly cares about your achievements is your mother. But eventually, she disappears too. Now you're own your own, and eventually you get burned and banished by your own father just for speaking out what you think was best. Also, Zuko's top emotion almost the whole show is anger. The only time we see him crying in front of someone is when he had already let go of that anger (not including flashbacks). Like imagine him going to bed and laying there, silently crying when he knows no one is around to see him. Sorry not sorry :')
Also I loved the animation! The theme and song suits so well and the art is absolutely amazing! I totally haven't watched this like 10 times already-

He even told him to stay silent while in the war room, most likely because he knew what would've happened.

At around 1:02-1:04, the singer says, "number two", intended to be listing down all the bad things done to her (number one, number two, number three, so on...), but when this song is applied to Zuko, "number two" refers to his younger sister Azula, who is the second child to be born. And then he asks her why _she_ played _him_ and betrayed his trust, letting him wonder why he ever trusted her to begin with.

I know this is supposed to be sad and all, but imagine if Zuko actually went around calling Azula like "Hey, number two!" and then running

Yes NO REASON to be burned, he only spoke out of term! I mean, if he was to be punished, a more miled one would do. NOT BEING BURNED IN THE FACE! Zuko is my favorite character in atla... to tell the truth, my favorite character in all time. His story is heart breaking. And just thinking, Zuko would not be as angry if it weren't for Ozai. I mean, his anger does make him Zuko, and is half way why he is my favorite character, but if you look to his child hood... he was a nice kid. I mean, maby not to Azula, but she is not nice to him, so that does not count. he was a very nice kid, and if it weren't for Ozai he would have had less anger issues, but I love how atla plays out his story, though I do wish Zutara happened. that's it though. Zuko is my favorite character and I will do a lot to prove it.
The last part really hit with the numbers. The song and artwork fit beautifully to define zuko and each of the broken relationships he held with his family. This really captured the turmoil Zuko faced, as parents and siblings are naturally the first people we naturally want to trust 💔

Did you know that cutting off the ponytail like that is a part of Japanese culture that symbolizes that they have matured?
The Fire Nation is also based off of Imperial Japan (In charge of weapon and military lol)
So it fits... They didn't need to add all of this but they did and that's why Avatar is great -v-

It truly is a miracle Zuko is able to become the person he was at the end of the show. His father's abuse, his sister's torment, and his mother's abandonment left him broken
I can't stop watching this. The music matches Zuko so well. He is my favorite character. He deserved so much more. The art is so lovely too. It must have taken so much hard work to make it. Thank you for this lovely video.

Zuko is my favourite character in ATLA and honestly he lives a hard life, and after all that trauma he REALLY needs a therapist
actually if i didnt know any better, i'd say that Zuko might end up struggling with depression or some mental illness-

The part we’re Axula helped him up and then shot fire at him made me tear bend a bit. Don’t ask me why.
It's super in character for her tbh.... but it looked so genuine and this is the dynamic we probably all wanted between these two the whole time... and probably woild have got it if season 4 happened instead of that awful movie!!!! Plus Season 3 shows us that Zuko is really good natured with a hint of evil and a lot of misguided nature, and Azula is the exact opposite, but those moments did show us she really did care about him and when Ozai wasn't around she did try to be a better sister, even if she was still a villain. I bet she had an off screen breakdown too when Zuko changed sides, she'd probably be really hurt that he'd leave after all the work she did to bring him home, but just had to suck it up and fight him like nothing happened. I really wish she got her redemption in the end too... not completely changing her personality, but her actually getting to have positive relationships with her family and friends. Plus they are a really good duo when they fight together... they're extremely OP.... gahhhhh I love Zuko and Azula so much..

I just recently watched the whole show, and welp. Right off the bat I could tell Zuko was gunna be my favorite, plus it doesn’t hurt that I’ve seen clips of him in his early stage of redemption. So like, it plucks at my heartstrings to see this animatronic to be honest ^^

I could imagine, especially when he was just banished and sent to find the avatar, he would cry in his room in the ship whenever he was alone, a young boy wondering what the hell did he do wrong to deserve this, until eventually maybe after some time he just hardens his heart into a shrivelled ball of bitterness and anger, which was what we got introduced to in the beginning of the show

I had just finished watching ATLA for the first time and absolutely loved it (I wish I had watched it as a kid but I'm glad I could watch it now. Now I'm onto watch Korra!). Zuko is one of my favorite characters and I loved his redemption. Love your animatic! You showed Zuko's feelings beautifully. 💕
