Say no to censorship. Let people confront the truth, and decide for themselves, what they support and want they oppose.

Wonderful production. I understand that times have changed and showing real swastikas may not be okay today. When I was in Danish high school (gymnasium) In 1990, we made our own production using swastikas. Very powerful. The audience was left really touched.
But thank you for uploading this so that I could see it.

No swastika in this show is like no baseball in a Babe Ruth biography

You can't censor Cabaret. The literal message of the show is to pay attention and not brush bad things off as if they don't matter. I can fully understand not wanting to sport a Nazi armband, as someone who has done exactly that for a production of this very show, but if you don't want to do that, then I'm sorry, but maybe this isn't the show for your company to perform.

Agreed. Even in the pit (trumpet), I had to wear one in the 2nd act. I loathed it, but understood the necessity.

Not censorship. wisdom Do you really think those kids want photos of themselves in nazi armbands surfacing on social media, or coming back to bite them in the butt in 5 or 10 years when job hunting?

It was meant as a symbol of evil, not just Nazis. The 15-17 year olds who put on this performance learned so much about themselves and what they want their world to look like. It was a very emotional production for them.

@@sharondecastro6954 Good job those teens did, and while they should have used the Swastika, still an original change. It also allows this to be viewed in countries that ban Nazi symbols.

I am all right with the change in symbol as the evil feeling is still there. I should think this would be emotionally hard to do as an adult, let alone as a teenager.

So, apparently, showing Nazis and Hitler is perfectly okay but it’s a step too far to show the swastika and the Nazi salute?

@@sharondecastro6954 umm... even if that were true, why hide it in a school play.... Was a symbol of evil when other cultures adopted it?

Many countries have laws against displaying symbols of the Third Reich publicly, guessing this is one of those countries. I don't know why. It's not like seeing three vertical lines as opposed to a swastika is suddenly going to make someone who has genuine Nazi beliefs change, or convert a normie into a Nazi.

Good production however IMHO the swastika should have been used. They didn't censor it on Broadway in the 60's, or the 1972 movie. Why in your production about 6 years ago? I lost some Berlin family in Auschwitz--I do she some tears but I can take it and there are rumblings of this right now.
