Very nice rifle Martyn, i have two sub 12ft pound air rifles, the Weihrauch HW97K and the Walther LGU both in 22 cal, i use them for pest control, they are both zeroed at 30 yards and my longest shot was 80 yards unsupported on a wood pigeon, i needed about 8 mil dots of holdover and was a perfect neck shot...jeff.

I have this one since about a year or so, from an Italian supplier. Now, TaiwanGun in Poland also offers it, but it's out of stock since quite some time.
Since January 2024, they have the long-awaited midcap mags for the StG44 though. So, we do not need to revert to that MP7 mag hack (which I contemplated all the time, but never got myself to actually do it). The midcaps are exactly what this bad boy needs. I hate hi-caps, but all the time before, there was no alternative yet (except for that cumbersome hack).
My StG44 shoots with too many fps to get it through the 1.2J restriction, but I did not yet take it to any skirm yet anyway (been busy with my other gear instead). My plan is to take apart the V2 inside it, and exchange the parts so as to make it just kiss the 1.2J limit. The V2 seems to be fine as it is, shooting quite consistently, so I expect no surprises inside that gearbox.
Yes, the safety switch is kind of stupid, also because it is too sensitive. It's difficult to feel the difference between "safe", "single" and "auto". The rotary switch would have been a better choice, obviously.

Very Interesting info, thanks for posting it, I guess I am lucky these days as I no longer skirmish and just collect , so I really do not run into any of these issues - I once did but no-longer..

@@FlankerTanker By the way, I bought a leather sling for the StG44 and a replacement-stock from Amazon. The StG44 needs that "original" sling to honour its heritage. The stock was made in India. It looks more authentic than the one that AGM put on it, but for now, I keep that AGM one, just in case I happen to damage it in a skirm. I had to fix the attachment of the stock when it came out of the box, as the screws were not very well inserted. I replaced them for slightly larger ones. Now, the stock is not that wobbly anymore.

that one wasn't cheap like the originals! i saw one go at auction for $84,900! the wind up key i wish all mags was that easy to load!! they definitely messed up the selector though the real gun had a rotating with a spring loaded knob on it you have to pull out to move between positions! and that's a patch tip on the rod Martyn! you know the problem with a ni-cad battery is they start losing charge as soon as they're took off the charger!

AGM messed up pretty much everything on that thing...
Should´ve done it G3 style constructionwise ,but no,"we" got the one of the most pointless and brittle constructions in the airsoft world...The AGM StG44 will pretty much break and fall apart after around 5 years because the exteriors are made with the worst zinc cat hair metal casting the chinese have to offer

this was not a consideration I had to make as I collect and do not skirmish anymore - so it really is just a display item for me.
