Oh wow this was 2 years ago damn. Well to hold a birb you need to have its trust. Which kinda means it would have to be your birb. Gaining trust usually takes a month or 2, depending on age. When you have gained it’s trust, just grab it *SUPER gently.* and if they try to escape that means they don’t have your trust enough. Hope that helps!
My birds hate being held upside down like that, I would surely get bitten. The only way I can grab them if I need to clip their nails is with a towel, so they can bite the towel instead of me. You're lucky your parrot didn't bite you. How cute the way yours just laid there like, okay, what's up, buddy... LOL
