That was enjoyable Mike. Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
I would love to be able to take a class at JCC but it's not in my immediate future. Your video makes me want to have that experience even more. Maybe next year. BTW nice stool. For me it would be great spindle practice which I dearly need. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
You would love it, Glen.
Stretchers Mike!
Not really need on this one. Only about 17" tall. And it would have been impossible for new turners to complete in the 10 hours or so they had.
A stool is a fun project. A couple years ago I challenged myself to build a shop stool from a single 2 X 4. I glued up three pieces for the seat ripped the blanks for the four legs and the four braces between the legs. Turned out plain, but highly functional. I use it all the time.
really intresting
I made one of these last year for my granddaughter. I made the seat out of walnut with wedged thru tenons on the maple legs. 3 coats of satin poly finish. Fun little project. Thanks for the video.
Wedged thru tenons look cool!
Nice looking stool Mike. Maybe could have used stretchers between the legs.
Nice but not needed on this 17" tall stool unlike this larger one ruclips.net/video/Fr0_BNynZBU/видео.html
Thanks Mike
Mike I saw the parts on your bench and was wondering when you were going to get it assembled. Nice job. I realize the class didn't have time to make stretchers. Would you consider adding them to the next project? TZ
It may be a while before I turn another stool. Here is the one I did for a 4 Ways video recently ruclips.net/video/Fr0_BNynZBU/видео.html
Neat project; really like the beads you added to the edge of the stool seat. Curious about not having stretchers, was that a design decision to keep the time required to make the stools within the available class time?
Yes, time constraints and it is short.
Nice looking stool. I noticed that the bottoms of the legs aren’t cut at an angle to fit flush on the floor, is there a reason for that.
Not at all. Good idea I had forgotten about. Thanks for the reminder.
Did your class include lodging and food? I’ve been to the campus for a craft fair but never taken a class
Yes. I had a room with a private bath and 4 empty bads. The food was great.
