    I think Thatcher and Diana shaped the fashion for the eighties. They both wore quite an elegant set of clothing.

    Never seen Army Guardsman as a guard of honour before or since in Downing Street. Those trappings should be reserved for the monarch not her chief minister - subtle example of imperial Maggie right there

    I liked Ronald Reagan, he wzs one of the best presidents. I also liked Margaret Thatcher, but she often thought of herself as the queen by copying her in some ways. I think the 80s were the best time for me.

      It’s called tradition & history. I appreciate that in the US as a young nation you don’t have a lot of that.
