hey mate. Great review. You have given the best real-world advice on the awning and the single best awning review I have seen. You use the awning probably how most people would and you show it in the video. every awning review should have a hanging test!!! much appreciated and definitely earned my sub
Let me start off by saying, you’re a legend behind the camera. You should put out as much content as possible I’d watch all your videos. Secondly, I think you just sold me on the Darche awning over the competition. Looks like a waaayyy better value for the money. Thanks mate! Keep doin ya thing 🤙🏾
Put out more vids mate this is top quality stuff. Ive been looking at the Bush Company XT 270 but I'm gonna have a serious look at the Darche now after seeing this, thanks for the vid mate!
Hi Good work on the vid, i have 1 of these for several years and they work great, but i did notice that it seems that u have the awning to far back. If u have a gap between awning and the back of the car rain will flow in so move the awning further onto the roof rack, so when u open the awning the back part is over the back door, further up towards the front the better, play with it to suit. And yes they pool water, but if u put the walls up no pool i have all walls and seems to work, and they extra room makes it worth it.
I agree, although I cannot move it any more forward otherwise I wouldn’t be able to put the poles in for my roof top tent. It’s not a problem though as the tailgate stops any rain from coming in. Cheers
Thanks mate great vid! Brought one of these last night after debating between many brands. Your great review of it was what swayed me to buy a Darche. Cheers
thank you very much.. I was very into bush company and Alu Cab, but I guess Darche is the way to go and really enough for me. 🙏🏾 Thank you greetings from Switzerland
Hi, I enjoyed the video and thanks for posting. I think you must have rolled the awning up wrong as I have seen another you tube clip where Trevor's partner - it was a 4x4 channel, easily walked along and zipped the bag up. I was surprised how easily she did it, two of them did roll it up so may have something to do with it. Top show, actually I think you have convinced me to get one. Have been you tubing for the last 2 days looking at awnings.....
I don’t have any trouble zipping mine back up... although I do 2 folds of the canvas before I start the roll up on the rest of it. It makes less of a bunched up bulge of canvas at the front! Give that a crack 🤙🏼 I way prefer the tight bag look 👌🏼 Good vid!!
Great review. I think if you folded the fabric 'corner up' instead of rolling the fabric like they show in a lot of the other brand videos you'll have less bulk at the point where your zipper's getting stuck.
Good insight on the awning I heard bad things about condensation with the cover. I'm interested in the way you have mounted it to your tend. I have a motop and I have been told I can't mount a free standing awning on it as it's not strong enough.. I find that strange as it has a double slot on the bottom of the tent and the roof can hold up to 30kg with single slot. It would be great to some how see some footage or pics of your mounted system.. Great review never the less thank you
About to buy one only problem I have with it is the bag apparently leaks water into itself they need to fix that problem and make it a bit bigger the bag that is cheers mate 🤙🙏🇦🇺
I agree I have the walls they take a bit more time to fit but give the privacy U need to have flat ground before setting up the walls, how hard is it to make sure there’s room in the bag when it was produced 😎
Great review! 👍 Are the standard Darche brackets height adjustable? I have a 1800 x 1200 Rola Titan tray and need to fit the awning as low as possible without getting in the way of my Prado’s doors
Hey mate, thanks for the video. I'm thinking about buying one. Would you still recommend this awning after using it for the past 18 months? Also, have you had any problems with water leaking through the seams? Cheers!
I just fitted 1 and like the looks of it, when pulling the the canvas tight at the back with the strap does your very end bar (the one that literally goes across the tail gate) flex a bit to be able to keep the canvas tight?
Hey mate no, I don’t get any flex at all in the end bar it stays completely straight, the bar just contains pulling backwards until the canvas is tight
Good review. Big part of why I sold mine is that bag that's too tight. Cold fingers and having to struggle with that zip every time made it a rubbish experience.
Cheers mate and fair enough, for me it’s not a big enough problem to justify getting another awning but it’s certainly something I Hope darche sort out!
12 months on. I hit them up this week asking if they do a bigger bag. Nope. Just told to pack it better. Still sucks. Cant be hard to make and sell a replacement bag
Cheers for the in-depth review on our 270 mate!

Great review, I’ll be fitting the 270 this weekend💯👍👍
Those aluminium welds on the hinge side will thank you for using the legs when the awning is in use. They are pretty brittle.
Great review
Have been looking at awnings and particularly the Darche
Thinks it’s the way to go
Thanks
Happy days mate, glad the video helped 👍🏽
You have sold me on buying one !!!
Haha enjoy mate! Cracker awnings 🤙🏽
Awesome review. Any suggestions on how to secure these so don’t get stolen?
Loving the 270 degree hair.
thank you very much..
I was very into bush company and Alu Cab, but I guess Darche is the way to go and really enough for me.

Thank you greetings from Switzerland
Looking into putting this awning on the side of my van to cover the back barn doors. Looks a treat!

Cheers for the review. P.s. hot cruiser 🤩
Cheers mate about to get one 🤙🇦🇺
Great review mate, was handy to know that you use it without poles the majority of the time.
Awesome review mate I’m gonna get one my sell

Cheers mate, I appreciate it!

Great review mate and very helpful. I'm going to mount this to Roof Bars.. do you think it needs 2 or 3 roofbars? cheers
Good insight on the awning I heard bad things about condensation with the cover.

11.5m2 coverage. Solid.

whats the minimum length of roof rack required for this warning?
Good review! Im getting one👌
Nice video , I have just got this awning, and finding out now like other the bag leaks leads to mold ,
Has this happened to you .
Good work on the review brother
What strip lights did you use mate?
thanks mate just sold me on one.
No worries mate, well worth the money!
Great review! 👍 Are the standard Darche brackets height adjustable? I have a 1800 x 1200 Rola Titan tray and need to fit the awning as low as possible without getting in the way of my Prado’s doors
Great review mate
Thanks for the good info mate
No worries! Glad you found it helpful 🤙🏽
Great review!
Cheers brother!
How long did it take you to do your hair before you started recording?
About 4 hours mate 🤙🏽
Nice video and review. Just wondering, what's your lighting solution for 270 awning? Ta
I’m camping next to you on Moreton Island...
Thanks mate
What light bar are you running on the front there?
hhahaha
It’s the new Defend 23” light bar mate, so far so good! Can grab them online through vicoffroad 👍🏽
Hey mate, thanks for the video. I'm thinking about buying one. Would you still recommend this awning after using it for the past 18 months? Also, have you had any problems with water leaking through the seams? Cheers!

What brand is that rear spare wheel carrier ?

That is an arrogant attitude by Darche!
How are the stitched joins in wet weather? at the 3 strap points on the main mount section, does water come in those 3 sections?
No water gets in through the stitches on mine 👍🏽
G'day mate, does the awning bag leak when its been raining?
Hey mate so far the awning bag has not leaked at all over the part couple years!
How does the top tailgate go? does it hit?
Nope it’s all good, totally depends on how it’s mounted of course
This looks exactly like the overland pros wraptor 4k.... except the additions forward facing arm.
What made you choose the darche over the 23zero falcon 270 awning ??
Mate they’re very similar awnings for sure! For me the well known name of darche convinced me.
23zero was set up by an ex Darche company man so I have been told. That's why they are so similar.
Good vid
Does the darche extender zip on to the 270 awning?
I’m assuming you’re talking about the walls, and they sure do!
@@harrydonnan141 no i was talking about the ad on tents like the darche extender.
Is that possible?
Thx 4 ur answer..
Mr. Antartis hey mate, I don’t know for sure but by the looks of it I don’t think they link straight up, would be great if they did though!
Great review 👍is this the Gen 2 awning?
Its the gen 2.. has the thicker canvas than the gen 1
👍🏼💯
