Your point in reenactments... (I'll need to message you on FB some time by the way.)
The same can be said for crash comps. We've both been around a while, the effort put into reenactments and crash comps back then were unreal. They were actually special, when a big name uploaded something you knew it was going to be something special. All the shit now for years has just been trash, low effort bullshit there for clicks.
Funny thing about CodyH, they hosted some race a while back, I can't remember if it was Daytona or Talladega now... but somehow they fucked up, lost the draft... then they complained for laps after laps about losing the draft and they said they were going to throw a caution for it or some shit. They never actually did, but still.
The second point on helping people, I tried at one point. I tried teaching setups, tire management, etc... some of the people just outright said I was egotistical and wanted to hear myself talk, but the guys that listened to shit I saw improvement in. Started winning races, some even started racing in real life. Shit was cool to see. I loved seeing people improve, seeing the competition levels improve. It was something I could always kinda be proud of, or at least being proud of the people who actually fuckin' would listen.
Not sure if you can tell who this is based on how I'm typing and talking, but when I first came around it was during the UNSR days. I had nobody to help me, teach me right from wrong, etc. If you fucked up, you just got blasted for it, told to "kill yourself", told you should've been aborted, etc. A lot of hostility, not a lot of helping. I had to learn a lot of the shit I know on my own, I didn't have anyone to help me or teach me shit. I've tried to help people, granted I've been hard on people at times when they've outright done stupid shit, but man you and I come from a time where the slightest mistake or inconvenience caused a fucking apocalypse in the TeamSpeak or Skype call. The inmates have always run the asylum in this community man, at least for as long as I've been around. Shit's been a disaster. I'm honestly convinced some of that shit back in the early 2010s ended up molding who I was as a person, because it made me into an outright ass toward the community for a while. I still am, but now it's more so because I'm tired of the bullshit, the same shit's been going on since I joined up back in 2008-2009 and since I started racing in 2010. I've long since given up hope in the community. Not just NR's, but every sim community out there. They're all intertwined in some way and the same dipshits you deal with on one game are more than likely on the others.

I totally agree with this man. This is why I am trying to help anyone I can, cause I had to endure the pains of learning basic shit bc a lot of ppl either never commented or never gave useful advice. A lot of “diD yOU iNStaLl thE pAtCh?!?”. Like cmon… that’s IN THE TUTORIAL FOR THE GODDAMN INSTALL OF THE GAME. Then not following up after I say yes. Little things like that will turn people away. But NR is all I can get rn. I don’t have money nor do I have the ability to run other sims. So yea, I’m glad you made this to highlight it, should be pinned in the subreddit tbh

It's ironic that drama from r/nr2003 spilled over into r/nr2k3 when the drama over there is exactly why I started r/nr2k3. (That and because I was banned there for the stupidest reason imaginable) Which is why, if you'll notice, that entire exchange is gone from that thread. Here piloticle was simply trying to spread the word about his awesome sound pack and then that all happened. What's also strange is the mod in question had always seemed like one of the more level headed guys over there and even vouched for me with ol' sb70 when he banned me. It's just all too much, especially coming from people older than I am...because, and to quote the immortal words of Roger Murtaugh, "I'm too old for this shit."
I may not agree with you about *everything*, but when it comes to that exchange and the whole translation situation, they were definitely out of line. And I think that's part of the problem: people keep thinking they need to take sides in this community and anyone they disagree with about topic A, they immediately go for the throat when topic B gets brought up, even if it isn't something worthy of drama.
And again...that's why I started that subreddit and I'm not going to out of with that juvenile BS whatsoever. If I wanted to hear a bunch of children fight I'd go down the hall and listen to my daughters.

Ive been banned from NR communities that are run by MattieD or J. Norton due to the fact they are egotistical and think they OWN the NR game and community.

Absolutely. I inquired on one forum if anyone had found out how to do something for a mod idea I was considering, just curious if anyone else had managed to do it, and one of the admins responded like, "That doesn't belong in this game, go play R Factor kid." See responses like this a lot. Mostly the same admin. Apparently there is a lot of taboo topics in this community and new members shouldn't ask about anything because they're either stupid or "illegal."

As someone whos active on the offline league side of the community, it ain't much better over here. A lot of good awesome people, but a good amount of bad apples who think they rule the damn world. It really is a mixed bag when you hop into this community, and while I've met some of my best friends here, Ive also met some really shitty human beings and I can understand how it can be hard for people to get into this place with how bad some people in this community are.

    • @NewWorldCT

It's the most toxic community I've personally seen and been apart of. People would say COD is worse, but I beg to differ. We all generally know who each other are and follow each other and all of that.

@@NewWorldCT Oh its definitely not the worst for me. When I was younger I was in a roblox community where people doxxed each other for having opinions and spread lies to get someone shunned just because they disliked them. The NR community for me has been great and bad, and once you kinda seclude yourself into a good group its really fun, and it's where I've found myself today. I tend to just not interact with the toxic side whenever possible and it's worked out well, but I definitely see the toxicity in this community and it infuriates me sometimes.

Lotta people dont understand that theres a cycle going on where people who didn't get help when they joined nr2003 think they have the right to in turn not help others out after they become familiar with the game. It's a never ending cycle, and each new batch of people that are interested in the game, get turned away because of that. Some people like to watch the world burn.

    • @NewWorldCT

Exactly my point. Also, with time, the gaming world changes. There is no reason to not allow someone, anyone to edit what they please, as long as they give credit to the original poster. No, they want a whole entire email of suckle. WE KNOW WHAT TYPE OF SUCKLE I MEAN. It's EMBARRASSING. And the friends I had, and the content they posted, they agreed with what I said and the whole point I was making.

Absolutely agree, I made a post probably a while back asking if it was possible for me to change the model of the GEN6BR15 mod and make a Super Speedway body for my own personal use, and the first and only reply was from one of the moderators basically shutting me down and saying for me to leave it to the pros and that it would be illegal for me to do this (even though I specifically said it would be only for own use), then deleted my post. I also saw that translation situation, didn't even realize it was a Moderator. Its sad to see a small community have such loud mouths making it seem way more toxic than it actually is.

The funniest part about the translation shit is that I'd trust a translation with a native speaker more than from any translator website. That's because in many parts of Europe (but I'm sure they're not unique in this) they teach English along side their respective native language. That's why many Europeans online can speak/type English just fine, hell I know a Brazilian who runs an English F1 chat and a Frenchman who runs an English motorsports chat. Hell I even know a Russian guy who can type English well enough.

    • @NewWorldCT
      @NewWorldCT  3 года назад

That's my point. Even what is generally lost in translation from a translation website can be filled in by the natural reader and speaker of that language. It illustrates my major point: they run people off who may be able to help this game continue on.
