- In this quick and easy tutorial you will learn how to make a Macramé Gnome, also known as a Gonk. It is a beginner tutorial that is easy enough for the whole family. It is perfect for using up scraps of string you're not sure what to do with. You will be only be using 4 knots in this tutorial.
Knots used:
Lark's Head Knot
Double Knot
Simple Knot
Gathering Knot
What you'll need:
Scissors
Measuring Tape
1 x Bead
1 x 2.5cm wide round cardboard ring (recycled toilet roll)
2mm string (or any string you have, just cut more or less pieces) cut as
follows:
2 x 40cm strings
21 x 25cm strings
Roving Wool cut as follows:
1 x 17cm piece
3 x 25cm pieces
*Remember that string thickness can vary, so if you're unsure and think yours is thicker, rather cut longer pieces in case you run out.
