The Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) allows kids, teenagers, and adults of all ages to relive the exciting Duels that take place in the animated Yu-Gi-Oh! series. In the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, players use the cards they’ve collected to construct Decks consisting of 40 to 60 cards. Then, they use their Decks to face off against opponents in a game of strategy, luck, and skill.

And then if you can't read and destroy that guy with a card effect, it turns into a guy with 100,000 ATK whose effect is "Either you attack me right now, or you automatically lose."

It's so great to me that both in Pokemon and in Yugioh, you use total jank but back it up with genuinely skilled team/deckbuilding, are willing to use staples and play the meta if it will help your wacky strategy win. IMO the perfect middleground.
13:00 Hey!! Idk if Reverend knows this yet, but there's a way in the setting to make you toggle auto response on/off by holding right click. You can either have it off and hold right to chain, or hold right to skip chaining for a bit. I use it all the time when I'm low on time on their turn, or want to seem like I don't have something.
The yu gi oh card text hurts me as a magic player cause like I see what they're doing, I see the like structure of it, but also it's somehow so much more confusing to read with all these "then if you do... and if you do..." (and also probably from just having more text in a much smaller textbox (it's insane to me how small the ygo text box is on physical cards)).
A lot of that is just text bloat from formating the effects, and while there are some tricks the game designers do to make it easier to understand, it gets really complicated. A common thing they tend to do is to give shared effects to certain cards in an archtype, while keeping individual effects on cards so while they are interchangeable with other some of the time, there's still specific scenarios where that individual card is needed. When it works it works really well. There's a deck called adamancipators which has the theme of "miners" excavating "rocks" from the top 5 cards of the deck, to summon the ascended forms of them from the extra deck with a synchro summon. Each extra deck monster gains an additional effect if the corresponding rock is in the gy. The rocks also let you put the corresponding synchro back to the extra deck and stack itself on the top of the deck, setting up a sure hit off of a miner effect. This is one of the best designed archtypes konami has made because not only does it work on a thematic level, you're mining for resources, but also a game play level. There's a manageable risk component in setting up your plays, but after that you can set up your play turn 3 with the stacking effects to chain summons together so that one miner leads to your whole board being restablished.

This can be super optimized. If you want more hand traps I'd recommended starting with curring lady skull servant and Mezuki to 2 and then maybe cutting a twin twisters and the monster reborn. If you want a 60 card version with that grass looks greener then slap in three shiranui solitaires and bump Wightprincess and Wightmare to three each. Also this is for master duel ftr, TCG banlist changes a lot
@@HumanReverend Thanks!
one step closer to playing mtg with me
i like that card bears which is just some bears
I have no idea what's going on in this video, but I love your voice and the comedy
The part where you say "if youre just not going to read the cards, its generally better to ash the second one" always makes me laugh and cringe because that is exactly how i play and thats why im shit
I’m a MTG player, but I believe that I understood just as much as the most knowledgeable yugi player, that is to say nothing
8:28 and vise versa, if they negate your effect and discording or tributing is part of the cost, it is not negated.
this video resulted in me wanting to play yugioh for the first time since 2007, so i downloaded Duel Links. it's terrible, keep up the great work.
> never play Yu-Gi-Oh
> See dragon maids
...
> Should play yugioh
