I can finally reveal a secret that I've been wildly excited about! For months Ollie and his wife, Camilla, have been in the process of buying an abandoned historic mansion near Barcelona, and the sale has finally gone through! Philip and I jump in the car to go and visit them for the first time, and we're blown away by the beauty of their new home, and the importance of the renovation task ahead of them...

Ollie and Camilla have bought themselves a real treasure. The painting and tile work are outstanding and the chandeliers are nothing to forget either. Wow! Also, the puppy is so stinkin cute!

Ollie & Camilla's new home is breathtaking! I cannot imagine how to renovate when every surface is art! So good to see Nick again, he always strikes me as a kind, nurturing woodland elf!

I am so happy for them. Perhaps it is an idea for Ollie and Camilla to contact chateau Gudanes, it is in the Pyrenee. Has the same state of stunning murals. They have contacts throughout France and Spain to restore academia, volunteers, and other essential sources. It would help them greatly to get started with the right people. As the restrictions in Spain are just as strict as in France.

WOW! That house is beyond dreams! The features and condition, the fact that it's in the middle of a villeage (with great restaurants) yet has a huge garden, and just outside Barcelona (one of the best cities in Europe) is just spectacular! The large terrasses, the architectural detail, the frescoes, floors, location, massive congratulations to Ollie and his family on their slice of Catalan heaven! (and on their new puppy too 💕)
I'm so relieved the hedgehog was healthy and could be released!
I wonder how he got overweight? He'll be fine now anyway, cool and rested.
Speaking of which I don't know how you stay so slim Stephany, considering the dinners you constantly eat!?
I think you've lost rather than gained weight.

@@TheChateauDiaries Please be aware this is not a healthy way for many and can set health in a spiral for some. We all do fast every evening when we sleep each night. But I get what a trend it is and how it can feel good due to giving the liver a break. Luv the channel forever and thanks for showing Ollie and Camille’s amazing home.
@@sugarmmmp i do know with price of groceries these days, some people are doing only two meals a day. but it should depend on age. Protein and other things takes so many meals to get what one should.

I have to admit, I went straight over to Ollie and Camilla's 'Triple M' because, how could I not... not only is it fabulous, it has dogs... good luck with a puppy Philip! The 8 hour drive isn't that bad in Aussie travel time... as a child, back when times were slower than today, Mum would have the car packed, my sister and I, plus the cat on the back seat ready to roll at around 3am, we were just waiting for Dad to jump in and go! About 11 hours later, after couple of 'cuppa' stops and on one occasion a runaway cat, we turned into Nan's drive in the country, Dad was back 'home' - brothers all down the road, family sawmill up the back! - and we were still in NSW... fun times!

Stephanie, I always enjoy the surprising detours that your vlogs can take --- and rarely a clue when to expect them! I mean, really, Ollie and Camilla's grand Modernista Mansion comes as a bolt out of the blue, totally electrifying, but in the most positive way. Can't wait to get more in-person details about the Pineapple Room... and all the others too! Of course I've subscribed to their Magical Modernista Mansion vlog. How will I keep up with all the action and remember to keep my own life on track? Guess I'll just have to pedal faster!

WOW, the painting on the walls and ceilings are so beautiful. The town is lovely and you can enjoy it with a walk. La Land grows fat hedgehogs, too funny.

I'm so happy your hedgehog was just fat. I just watched a video of a hedgehog rescue who had mange so bad, he looked like a lump of mud until he moved. His healing and care was miraculous. When the mange was gone, before his quills grew back, he looked very naked. It was so sad seeing that way. Thankfully, he was completely healed.
The tasting menu at the restaurant is incredible. Amazingly decorated house in Spain too.
Their mansion is such a fantastic find! The old magnificent building in the central location and with their own plaza and fountain! But that garden, just wow! To get the opportunity to restore all that while eating ice cream is a rare opportunity :D

I think my jaw was on the floor the entire time you were at Ollie and Camilla’s. I studied in Barcelona for a summer when I was in college so I love Cataluña and modernist architecture. I think I’m going faint… 😱😍

I hate to think how much it’s costing for the woodman to do all the work at the chateau. My friend had to pay £1000 to have one very large tree cut down! Stephanie must be rolling in it!

They sold everything to move to Spain, so not rich. They will have events, selling paintings. Volunteers and Patrons to restore the building. A life time of work. 😘
@@LomaxYearwoodthethird Ollie's property is listed, so restoration is going to be more complicated. 😘 Lalande is not listed, but is in the most under populated area of France. About the chapel, Stephanie said if the work doesn't start this year, she will find a new restorer.😀

Natalie Nienhuis -- Philip has a lot of energy to burn, so he needs a dog, a hedgehog, plenty of initiatives and kindness to show the chateau late at night! Well, he is just 25! My children are older than him and have busily scheduled lives, and they are in their 30s! Stephanie, driving from France to Spain and back is not easy. Be kind to yourself!
The magnificent house that Ollie and Camilla purchased is simply stunning, they are very lucky to have found such beautiful property in such excellent condition. Do they speak Spanish? If not, they will soon pick it up.

Whomever built and designed that home certainly knew what they were doing for it to be so well preserved. Just beautiful. I will admit, though, I may have oooh'd and ahhh'd a little more at the dogs. Speaking of...must we start a petition to get Philip a dog? I mean, did you see his face with that puppy? Definitely on team dog for Philip!
Add to that the pro-goat people were voted down and I am sure that was disappointing for Philip. How about the saying "Don't postpone joy." After all , Diesel leaving left a big gap... :(
I must admit I was against him getting a dog because they travel, but I think he's yearning for one so much he should get one, and hopefully they can work out who can look after the dog when they travel, or take the dog with them.
I vote No dog. Not enough time to devote to it Ruby will have to be the only house pet.

The built in bookshelf might be nice if picked out the blue in your dad's painting and paint the inside shelves. From the greenish blue to that gray blue.

Such a beautiful home. Happy in such great condition. In my mother's home alot of the doors and other surfaces are painted as real wood grains. Also some rooms are painted jungle scenes birds butterfly's , clouds . Etc .I love theirs ,all different light and airy feel. Blessings for their home 🛐This was a lovely vlog. Thank you . ❣🤴👸🍾🥂🦚
