Underrated bands have always been better than the more popular ones. Like everything else in life, it seems.

Oh yeah! These guys are killer. They are still putting out FIRE. Their most recent album - Blood In The Water - is great, and they have released a couple singles for a new album that is coming out later this year. Definitely worth diving into more

Amazing album, I remember this as a kid and thrashing it over and over, another couple of goodies would Onslaught - in search of sanity and welcome to dying as well as Kreator - extreme aggression and betrayer.... you won't be disappointed.

Got my 1st CD player in 88' . There wasn't many metal choices for the format (being relatively new). This was my 2nd CD I ever bought . The 1st was Decline of the Western Civilization - The Metal Year's soundtrack.

Escape from within talks about being trapped in your paralysed body and wishing to die (escape from within).

Unfortunately this band never got the same recognition, but was always "the band that Jason used to play in". Listening to it today it still holds up perfectly. After the 100th time listening to Master of Puppets, you can put this on and it is fresh and just plain fucking AWESOME!

Band name pronounced Flot some and Jet some. Have this album. Definitely a band worth exploring further.

Really, that's odd. Is there a meaning behind the name?

    • @metalmark1214
      @metalmark1214 2 месяца назад

@@TheMetalJunkie Both words originated in 17th-century sailing terminology. Flotsam literally meant “wreckage or cargo that remains afloat after a ship has sunk.” Jetsam meant “goods thrown overboard from a ship in danger of sinking in order to give it more buoyancy.” Both literal meanings remain current, although the distinction between them is often forgotten. Basically a term meaning useless material.

Here is a band that you may have never heard of that I think you'd like - Helstar
    Helstar - Toward the Unknown
Helstar - Run With the Pack
    Audio files for both.

I do know of them but don't remember any songs and haven't listened to them much. It's been 15 years since I checked them out so I should check them out again

You should check out the song hammerhead from them. Its from when Jason Newsted was in the band (pre metallica). It has corny lyrics but the riffs are great and the vocalist sings the corny lyrics amazingly

Great band! Awesome progression from Doomsday... their first album with Jason N. I love the vibe of this album and the production! Oh and I'm such a fan of the melodic vocals. It all sounds so great, and the album art really brings it all home to me! One word: ATTITUDE!
If you like the crisp, melodic attitude of this album, you should check out a band called Powermad "Absolute Power" and Forbidden "Forbidden Evil"! Awesome bands!

Man you really gotta try Vio-Lence: Phobophobia, and Eternal Nightmare. Both from the Eternal Nightmare album. Absolutely killer Thrash with some tasty kicks and an absolute madman of vocals. Another hidden gem I assure you.

Oh hell I'd forgotten these guys, they were great! \m/ \m/ But yeah, speaking of 80s thrash metal, here's a reminder to check out The Deluge by Manilla Road. 🙃

Heavily recommend you check out some songs from the cuatro or drift albums, both of those albums are absolute bangers
