I always loved watching the Caribou and the Buffalo perform. I'm a USAF vet, and have had the pleasure of seeing some interesting things. 👍 Thank you for sharing.
Brings memories of my time in Alaska....
I agree awesome airframes
Canada used to be in the forefront of aircraft design and manufacturing.
That is a GIGANTIC vertical stabilizer...
I have always been intrigued with the Caribou and the Buffalo.
Canada search and rescue!!!
Thank you SARTECHS! ; looking forward to seeing the Kingfisher!
Yes, Awesome. I live not too far from the airport and I can always tell when the Buffalo is in town by its very distinct engines. I have several videos of this aircraft at Qualicum. 😎👍
This is THE BEST Stol plane ever made and FOREVER!
Perfectly synced props
Oh yesses! Super catch!
Amazing STOLs.
The buffalo and cariboo are the only airplanes I know of taking off and lifting with nose down!
the single Otter climbs nose down as well

I have 10,000 hours in a Dash8. Basically an updated Buf. Great planes. NEVER felt unsafe flying it. Never. If you knew what you were doing, it was capable of amazing short-field performance. KDCA Washington NATIONAL, you could land on 15 and make Kilo. You could land on 3 and make Delta (the one right before the intersection of 1. That one you had to be light, but it could be done.
Confused. The Dash 8 was developed from the Dash 7 (and did not share its STOL performance as a design feature- although as you said - "If you knew what you were doing" which always makes sense...) and the Dash 7 was said to be very much a larger 4 engined Twin Otter... The Buffalo was developed from the Caribou and there doesn't seem to be ANY connection to the Dash 8 other than both being twin turboprop DHC aircraft..... ??? So...an updated Buffalo? In what way?
The -6 could land in 500 feet with a light headwind. In flight Beta is key, though I wouldn't know because I never tried it ;)
@@trooperdgb9722 wing is similar but not the same. Dash 8 is still a stol plane. Reason is cruise speed. High lift = more drag. That puts a toll on your cruise speed and fuel consumption.
@@HuckThis1971 No. Dash 8 isn't stol plane
@@abduljabar8445 I see them take off from YUL every day.
Excelente avión de gran performance
There will never be anotherBuff. Too bad they didn’t try the Dash 8-400 turbines on it.
Oh the “Herd” Planes have their place!!
Circuits and bumps to keep the license going?
Increíble su aterrizaje y su despegue más.
What kind of landing was that? Reminds me of the dive for the threshold finals the C-46 guys used to do in Vietnam.
I have seen the C 46 do that dive thing in the runways many times in Vietnam. I thought they were going to crash every time. Dive in dumped a load jump out that’s what we told him to do and boy that’s what they did
#2 burnin' a lil' dirty....
For sure, and both of them just after landing! 🤔
Kinda dropped it in there, little late on the flair
Only thing I like from Canada is a DH - 4...
I would crank the sound ,but
Its not a radial !!
Ha that’s almost as bad as my first islander landing 😂
not the most well timed flare. It was a bit close.
I was thinking that. Why did he come in so steep?
Someone forgot they had the controls.
@@cambellevans9945 because the amount of flaps used is far too great for that speed. Even on takeoff they only need like first notch.
@@cambellevans9945 it was a STOL practice it looks like (Short Take-Off and Landing
@@m.s.aviation7065 yeah, the amount of lift he had on takeoff for very little pitch up was impressive.
WHATS A CRANK SOUND
@@endokrin7897 Yeah, right there you go you’re the confrontational one, but doesn’t matter because your comments gonna be deleted
Ummmmmmm.........I think you got the wrong animal. That's a Carabou. Not a Buffalo.
I’m just going to leave your comment right there so people can see how dumb you are 😂
@@dvlingo ok, thanks smart ass. I thought it was a carabou. So fuckin sue me.
@@Jmpmstrtex Can't even spell caribou correctly. Jeanyus.
@@erichhartmann1 Thanks professor!! Now, fuck off !!
