The very first video I see you’re actually using gloves. Greasing the fifth wheel is important, I fully agree and every driver should be doing it if there is no fitter to do it. It prevents premature wear and tear and possible failure. Good one!

Maybe the video was edited in a different order to which the detachment process was really done. I have seen the aftermath of two serious incidents where the driver pulled the 5th wheel handle first before applying the separate trailer brake and detaching the air lines. In both cases the trailer dropped off and ran away from the tractor unit down a very slight slope before the air lines snapped and applied the trailer brakes. In the second incident it rolled 25m and partially demolished a large shed. When detaching a trailer, pulling the 5th wheel handle is the very last thing that is done. 👍 When I trained drivers to detach trailers safely in the yard, many did not know this, even experienced ones.

So amazed by your videos, but if I may, for me uncoupling trailers...first thing I do is trailer brake on and detach airlines...tug test to make sure trailer brakes have engaged, slightly raise tractor, lower legs, last thing I do is pull 5th wheel and then uncouple, drive slightly forward the dump airbags to prove legs are locked then pull away. Over time we all do the same checks but slightly different, same result in the end.
I know they are only work wear, but you make those overalls a real fashion statement, you look amazing ! Girls in London and New York would spend big money to look like you ! Have a good day Timea !
Good video! Im a drive in the UK and we drop our trailers in a a different order to you. We usually raise suspension if loaded, trailer brake, legs, airlines then clip/handle last. Im not saying theres a right or wrong way to do it. It's interesting to see how things are done in Eastern Europe. 😀

Another question perhaps for your Q&A - When your truck is serviced, where do you take it, or do you do some of it yourself perhaps? I would guess that due to the technical side requiring specialist equipment, it is done by a local garage or Scania dealership? One of the other good things I liked about this video is that you took time to explain certain words/sentence's in your language in subtitles! Thank you! I love different languages and I think it is important to have the basic words like Hello, Goodbye, Please, Thank You and so on. Hello Adrian!😊 At 0:32 seconds, if you observe carefully, I use my thumb to pull down the safety clip and then I pull out the fifth wheel handle. Hello Thom!🙋🏼♀️😊 The area where I park the truck is very rocky and full of stones since it is located among the mountains, so there is no danger of the truck sinking. Otherwise, you are absolutely right. If you don't know the place where you park and if you are not sure if it is stable, it's better not to place/disconnect the trailer.

Wait a minute, why did you raise the axle before pulling off? Isn't the kingpin gonna go higher when the trailer loses all the air and sits? Will you be able to reattach it? Tell me more about this trick. Oh and.....kind reminder to all happy truckers out there : FIRST you lower the landing gear, and THEN you do everything else. Or at least....first unlock the kingping and then IMEDIATELY lower the landing gear, and then do everything else. 👍👍👍👍😎
I too raise the truck before detaching, this way after the fifth wheel has ben greased, I can back almost all the way into the kingpin, then raise the truck before reversing the kingpin into the lock. That way I don't get grease everywhere underneeth the trailerfront
@@matpol098 ....yep, that was my suspision too, I kind'a realised it after she mentioned it in the video. However, I did notice that even if I don't raise the 5th wheel for detaching the trailer, after loosing all the air, the kingpin is raised anyway, so going under it with the axle in normal position, the kingpin still sits higher and I need to raise the axle anyway. And besides, when backing to couple, I go out and see where the 5th wheel is standing, and if I see it higher than the front plate, I lower the axle and put it in with a small gap, and then raise it again. Is it me or is it more work for nothing??? I don't know...👍👍👍

Ugyhogy remélem nem veszed rossz néven... de, mivel ez 1oktatô videónak vélhetö és elöbb vagy utóbb sok ujjonc és tapasztalt fogja követni a csatornádat, rengeteg negatív kommentnek nézhetsz elébe. Tudom hogy nem könnyü egyedül a kamerának dumálni, de ilyenkor bizony jobb volna szorol-szóra, lépésröl-lépésre elmagyarázni hogy mit-mikor-miért; adott helyzetekbe miért kell vagy lehet másképpen csinálni vagy helyzettnek megfelelöen csinálni dolgokat. Szerintem még a nyereg zsírozását is meg fogják ugatni (pl. hogy a tartalék-kanálisokba nem tettél eleget) és a többi apró tévedéseket már nem is említem... Én helyedbe, gyorsan lekapnám a videót és ujra szerkeszteném vagy adnék ennek egy új címet "hogyan NEM kell leakasztani 1 trailert" és csinálnék 1 part2-t ahol aprólékosan tökéletesen bemutatnám azt hogy hogyan kell csinálni 😉 (mondjuk ugy, "civilizáltabb" országokba nagy hangsújt tesznek az apró részletekre, amerikáról ne is beszélve ahol még a kulcsot is ki kell venni a kontaktból) Na de még 1x elnézést kérek hogy igy bele pofázok a munkádba, végül is az a fontos hogy csinálod. The trailer was disconnected correctly given that it was parked overnight, and in the morning the air pressure in the system was at 0, so the brake system was activated and the trailer couldn't move. During college, I studied and designed brake systems, so I understand how they work very well. As long as there is a lubricant film on the coupling mechanism, it's okay. The manufacturer doesn't specify the amount of lubricant needed for lubrication, and furthermore, when it's new, the plate is without vaseline. Have a great week! Then, if You will fuse it with your personal life as well (as you say) (since we are all unique beings in this life) your videos will be more great, a success even... But, there are not many truck drivers out there having your qualification and even less among the RUclipsrs. So I think You are just about the right person to give, great technical explanations even about some simple things. And let's take this video as an example "maintenance of the fifth wheel"... Would be nice to see how did you clean it? What tools did you use and what kind of chemicals if any is needed? And even more important, why? Why the old grease has to be cleaned off before applying the new one. I see many people just dropping the new grease on top of the old one and done, ready to go. But are there any consequences? (Ok I know many people just don't care. But many people would care if they would know). In the same time since the fifth wheel is clean, You could explain how the mechanism works and for example you could use a metal bar to trigger the mechanism with your bare hands. Why? Because I see people literally crashing the 5th wheel into the kingpin (and again, I know many people just don't care. But others don't know so probably they want to make sure they connected well) Then as a bonus moment you may demonstrate a real coupling with the truck, how a very gentle push is enough to trigger the mechanism and be connected well. And from time to time even I could contribute with some "bonus tip" if you wish. Like for this video, how just a little extra care of the fifth wheel may prevent and save those drivers who are coming to the north in winter time, unprepared with lack of knowledge and losing the control of the truck (they don't know why) but the truck just going off the road and causing a lot of problems and accidents putting in danger the traffic, their and others life ultimately understanding that nature have no mercy, snow, ice and -30⁰ and below, it's not something that tbey can afford to play with. Nature, life and the physical laws doesn't forgive the "I'm sorry I didn't know" excuses, or "give me a break I don't care" attitude just because someone driving trucks for 20 years already. So yes I would love and enjoy seeing your videos about your life, in the truck and off the truck or wherever but on the other side I think there are moments where things can become serious... that is also enjoyable. (It is very normal to enjoy a hollywood movie on tv. But the discovery channel and similar is a must to have...) 😉 🤷♂️

Hello Thom!🙋🏼♀️😊 The area where I park the truck is very rocky and full of stones since it is located among the mountains, so there is no danger of the truck sinking. Otherwise, you are absolutely right. If you don't know the place where you park and if you are not sure if it is stable, it's better not to place/disconnect the trailer.

FIRST you lower the landing gear, and THEN you do everything else.
Or at least....first unlock the kingping and then IMEDIATELY lower the landing gear, and then do everything else. 👍👍👍👍😎
I too raise the truck before detaching, this way after the fifth wheel has ben greased, I can back almost all the way into the kingpin, then raise the truck before reversing the kingpin into the lock. That way I don't get grease everywhere underneeth the trailerfront
@@matpol098 ....yep, that was my suspision too, I kind'a realised it after she mentioned it in the video. However, I did notice that even if I don't raise the 5th wheel for detaching the trailer, after loosing all the air, the kingpin is raised anyway, so going under it with the axle in normal position, the kingpin still sits higher and I need to raise the axle anyway. And besides, when backing to couple, I go out and see where the 5th wheel is standing, and if I see it higher than the front plate, I lower the axle and put it in with a small gap, and then raise it again.
Is it me or is it more work for nothing??? I don't know...👍👍👍

Ki szoktam fárasztani és utána leülünk szépen és lassan kezdem fésülni. Mindig megpróbálom a haját úgy fésülni, hogy alul a bőrénél egy kicsit tartsam, hogy ha húzódik is, ne fájjon. Egy negyed órát szokta bírni, de utána kap valami finomat, hogy tudja annak ellenére, hogy jól megtéptem, szeretem őt 😂. Mintha Maciról olvasnék, ő is mindig hempereg fésülködés után, mintha meg akarná mutatni, hogy hiába fésültem meg😁. Nemsokára le kell vágjam a kicsi szép haját, hogy vegye fel a nyári öltözéket és frissüljön fel a bundája. Ilyenkor elég gyakran szoktam fürdetni, de azt sem szereti😂🐕.

Na most, ahogy korábban irtam, én élvezem az othoni tájakat és kész.
Ugyhogy remélem nem veszed rossz néven... de, mivel ez 1oktatô videónak vélhetö és elöbb vagy utóbb sok ujjonc és tapasztalt fogja követni a csatornádat, rengeteg negatív kommentnek nézhetsz elébe.
Tudom hogy nem könnyü egyedül a kamerának dumálni, de ilyenkor bizony jobb volna szorol-szóra, lépésröl-lépésre elmagyarázni hogy mit-mikor-miért; adott helyzetekbe miért kell vagy lehet másképpen csinálni vagy helyzettnek megfelelöen csinálni dolgokat.
Szerintem még a nyereg zsírozását is meg fogják ugatni (pl. hogy a tartalék-kanálisokba nem tettél eleget) és a többi apró tévedéseket már nem is említem...
Én helyedbe, gyorsan lekapnám a videót és ujra szerkeszteném vagy adnék ennek egy új címet "hogyan NEM kell leakasztani 1 trailert" és csinálnék 1 part2-t ahol aprólékosan tökéletesen bemutatnám azt hogy hogyan kell csinálni 😉
(mondjuk ugy, "civilizáltabb" országokba nagy hangsújt tesznek az apró részletekre, amerikáról ne is beszélve ahol még a kulcsot is ki kell venni a kontaktból)
Na de még 1x elnézést kérek hogy igy bele pofázok a munkádba, végül is az a fontos hogy csinálod.

The truck is at home for minor maintenance work and also for cleaning the interior of the cabin.
The trailer was disconnected correctly given that it was parked overnight, and in the morning the air pressure in the system was at 0, so the brake system was activated and the trailer couldn't move. During college, I studied and designed brake systems, so I understand how they work very well.
As long as there is a lubricant film on the coupling mechanism, it's okay. The manufacturer doesn't specify the amount of lubricant needed for lubrication, and furthermore, when it's new, the plate is without vaseline.

But, there are not many truck drivers out there having your qualification and even less among the RUclipsrs. So I think You are just about the right person to give, great technical explanations even about some simple things.
And let's take this video as an example "maintenance of the fifth wheel"...
Would be nice to see how did you clean it? What tools did you use and what kind of chemicals if any is needed? And even more important, why? Why the old grease has to be cleaned off before applying the new one. I see many people just dropping the new grease on top of the old one and done, ready to go. But are there any consequences? (Ok I know many people just don't care. But many people would care if they would know).
In the same time since the fifth wheel is clean, You could explain how the mechanism works and for example you could use a metal bar to trigger the mechanism with your bare hands. Why? Because I see people literally crashing the 5th wheel into the kingpin (and again, I know many people just don't care. But others don't know so probably they want to make sure they connected well)
Then as a bonus moment you may demonstrate a real coupling with the truck, how a very gentle push is enough to trigger the mechanism and be connected well.
And from time to time even I could contribute with some "bonus tip" if you wish. Like for this video, how just a little extra care of the fifth wheel may prevent and save those drivers who are coming to the north in winter time, unprepared with lack of knowledge and losing the control of the truck (they don't know why) but the truck just going off the road and causing a lot of problems and accidents putting in danger the traffic, their and others life ultimately understanding that nature have no mercy, snow, ice and -30⁰ and below, it's not something that tbey can afford to play with. Nature, life and the physical laws doesn't forgive the "I'm sorry I didn't know" excuses, or "give me a break I don't care" attitude just because someone driving trucks for 20 years already.
So yes I would love and enjoy seeing your videos about your life, in the truck and off the truck or wherever but on the other side I think there are moments where things can become serious... that is also enjoyable.
(It is very normal to enjoy a hollywood movie on tv. But the discovery channel and similar is a must to have...)
