Great explanation Emily! One thing I’d like to see though is an actual visual example of the correctly formatted resume you were describing. Thanks for your effort

Great video i must say. But here back in India it's different. You need to have all the necessary key skills or your core competencies in your resume. As far as the one or 2 page is concerned, i agree that it should be one page but when it comes to senior professional above 15 year it is very difficult.
Plus talking about the summary which you said one must eliminate it from the resume to save space, here in India there is a rule, which i mentioned below.
    1) your name
    2) a headline thar portraits who you are, your profession basically. This is because we all know HR managers don't have time to read through the entire resume, all they take is 15-20 seconds. So having a headline that speaks for itself who you are is mandatory.
    3) core competencies
    4) career path
    5) education.

I’m glad to know I knew most of these already, and also because I’m french it’s nice to see that when I apply to anglo-saxon compagnies I don’t need a whole new outline. Except for the picture, here it’s the norm to put one on the top right corner.
I would like to ask though, as a student who is going to enter the job market soon, how do I enhance my professional experience ? Is it better to focus on some experience and add details or to present an extensive list ?
Regarding the one page rule, is it cheating if I reduce margins ?

I’ve seen in Canadian website including government job website- it mentioned not to include interests and hobbies
