  • Nhl playoffs 2024 boston bruins vs florida panthers game 1 definitely surprised me, but more than the parade of goals in the bruins panthers highlights including matthew tkachuk brandon carlo goal and even mason lohrei , jeremy swayman is unreal and that's the top storyline in my eyes. Nhl highlights today 2024 stanley cup playoffs bruins vs panthers game 1 , will be covering the rest of this series and the nhl draft lottery tonight , plus the other nhl playoff series . Nhl hockey

Yeah... As much as I'd like to blame the Leafs for their shortcomings this time, they outshot the Bruins and out-chanced the Bruins quite a bit... The daylight the Leafs got wasn't much because of Swayman. If Keefe saw early enough that Samsonov wasn't up to the task and put in Woll, there may have been a much different outcome.
Bottom line, Swayman bent, but Samsonov broke.

Bruins fan and also goalie here. My favorite goalies were Thomas and Rask and I gotta tell you Sway and Ullmark are just the best duo out there. The goalie hug never gets old and they have a great story coming up from Providence during the pandemic when Rask needed surgery and Halak had covid. The two (Ullmark and Swayman) found themselves sharing the net to FILL IN for them (Rask and Halak) and ended up taking over the playing duties and it's resulted in being the dynamic duo we have today. They share everything and I will be very sad to see the pair broken up if it happens soon :*(

they signed Ullmark as a UFA after Halak left and Rask was contemplating retirement. it was Swayman and Vladar who came up together from Providence. those first couple of games Swayman played, we could all see he was Rask’s replacement. then, Vladar was traded, Ullmark signed, Rask retired and history books written.

Agreed. They didn't look like a 2nd Round SC Playoff team. Their coverage was loose, and the turnovers were ridiculous. At this stage of the season, you have to be more disciplined than that. They aren't the Oilers or Avs who can trade goals and expect to come out ahead. They don't have that sort of elite scoring talent, and neither do the B's, but if you hand them pucks in dangerous places and lose coverage, they're going to burn you.

at peak athletic shape, taking a week off to rest generally weakens you... you kinda want to be playing every other day to stay in peak physical shape. This was not really to Florida's advantage. The real advantage of opponents going to game 7's is the threat of injury.

The whole, we had extra rest from a early series win, is one of the most overblown advantages in pro sports. These guys are the best of the best, in the absolute best shape to play the sport. Going to 7 games in a series isn't gassing them in the playoffs.

As a Bruin's fan, I think the score doesn't reflect how close the game actually was.
I completely agree Swayman is the biggest contributor to the team. He was top notch again last night, but the Panthers got a lot of chances, the Bruins struggled a lot to get the puck out of their zone.
What really won the game was really clutch goals from the Bruins and being able to convert on their chances while the Panthers could not.
Lots of issues to iron out before I believe this team can win the cup.
