- Nhl playoffs 2024 boston bruins vs florida panthers game 1 definitely surprised me, but more than the parade of goals in the bruins panthers highlights including matthew tkachuk brandon carlo goal and even mason lohrei , jeremy swayman is unreal and that's the top storyline in my eyes. Nhl highlights today 2024 stanley cup playoffs bruins vs panthers game 1 , will be covering the rest of this series and the nhl draft lottery tonight , plus the other nhl playoff series . Nhl hockey

Hockey needs more guys like Swayman, not enough positivity in the game.
I think life in general needs more people like swayman.
@@soup5174😂
He is definitely the polar opposite of fellow Bruin Mike Milbury.
Swayman: Hey man, let's just hug it out.
Milbury: I AM GOING TO MURDER THAT FAN IN THE STANDS, LET ME AT 'EM!!!!!
What a difference a few generations make.
There are tons of nice guys in hockey, its just that the assholes make themselves WAY more noticeable.
I’m hiv positive
My favorite moment was Swayman popping out from under that pile with the puck & a big smile on his face. Swayman was incredible! The whole team was great! Congratulations Carlo & family!
game 7, Did he tap the guy who was pushed into the net? "it's ok bro" moment. That was class.
I thought his response was incredible. He can be light-hearted after such a tense sequence while being utterly locked-in.
Bro said what’s all the commotion boys
It’s hilarious that the Maple Leafs could have had Swayman but picked someone else. It’s poetic
Remember that they traded away Tuukka Rask as well.
@@intentionaloffside8934 in hindsight, that was a smart move
@@pjp7259 cmon pogge sucked
Good, they would prolly ruin him and keep him in the AHL or trade him later on.
Swayman is quickly becoming one of my favorite players outside of my Oilers. Was a beast for me in fantasy, seems like a genuinely happy dude/great teammate and also helped eliminate the Leafs. Keep it up, Sway!
B’s fan here. Sway’s play is “cold-blooded”- but he does NOT stop smiling, he’s having so much fun every minute he’s out there. Gonna be a fun series!
Sway's a stud. I hope the B's can bring the same energy for the rest of the series and avenge last year.
I'm sure Swayman gets frustrated and obviously wants to win but I think he just likes being out there playing hockey with his friends, at least thats the vibe i get
I’m a sicko Bruins fan just retired move down to Florida and got to go to the game last night. They’re only an hour from me. Let’s go.
as a leafs fan i have nothing bad to say about the bruins goaltenders, they played so insanely well against us i just couldnt have been mad. and the personality of swayman is contagous
shouldn't you be out on the golf course trying to get an autograph?
@@middleearthtroll6183 _what_ golf course? 😉
Yeah... As much as I'd like to blame the Leafs for their shortcomings this time, they outshot the Bruins and out-chanced the Bruins quite a bit... The daylight the Leafs got wasn't much because of Swayman. If Keefe saw early enough that Samsonov wasn't up to the task and put in Woll, there may have been a much different outcome.
Bottom line, Swayman bent, but Samsonov broke.
Bruins fan and also goalie here. My favorite goalies were Thomas and Rask and I gotta tell you Sway and Ullmark are just the best duo out there. The goalie hug never gets old and they have a great story coming up from Providence during the pandemic when Rask needed surgery and Halak had covid. The two (Ullmark and Swayman) found themselves sharing the net to FILL IN for them (Rask and Halak) and ended up taking over the playing duties and it's resulted in being the dynamic duo we have today. They share everything and I will be very sad to see the pair broken up if it happens soon :*(
they signed Ullmark as a UFA after Halak left and Rask was contemplating retirement. it was Swayman and Vladar who came up together from Providence. those first couple of games Swayman played, we could all see he was Rask’s replacement. then, Vladar was traded, Ullmark signed, Rask retired and history books written.
Even as a Bruins fan I had no idea Swayman could play this good-starting to remind me of Tim Thomas
Watch swayman at any point, he ALWAYS has a smile on. That’s what gave me hope in game 7. The leaf’s goalie looked like he was headed for the chair and swayzee was just laughing. Guy is a brick wall, go b’s
And they have a reliable backup in Ullmark on top of that.
He is an elite starter too. He may start game 2
Boston has the best goalie tandem this year.
Bostons "backup" is the reigning Vezna winner, what an absolute luxury to have.
One of the best goalies in the league sitting on bench 😂
@@rdel2007 there is absolutely no reason to not ride swaymans heater until it runs out. montgomery fucked up their playoff last year with bad goalie choices. hed be an idiot to get cute with it this year
“Whoever wins this series is going to get killed by Florida” Steve Dangle
Me on my way to sew bro's mouth shut
Steve actually had in his original bracket Boston beating Florida in round 2
@@Handle24914 bro jinxed us
Giving out free hugs...Sways a beauty.
Jack Campbell? The guy I thought of, as far as Swayman's demeanor, was Brodeur.
Imagine having a recent Vezina trophy winning goalie as your backup 😂
I’m a Leafs fan but full respect to Swayman. Especially game 7 when he gives Knies the tap with his glove to make sure he’s good after crashing into him.
Swayman is the story for sure. He's always been the heir apparent and he's finally taking it
Talk about mason lohrei
I am
Hard to believe Swayman went to arbitration at the beginning of the season. The Bruins almost ruined this perfect goalie duo.
He's going to be very rich this summer.
With the short history these 2 teams have, I'm hoping for a Banger of a series !
In the playoffs, the team that has a long rest generally seems to lose to the team that has had no rest. That's how it seems to me anyway. Even though you'd think it should be the other way around.
Momentum
Yeah, rest or rust?
I'm 61 years old & I can't remember when a long rest benefited a team.
Waiting around for the next series to start is not Bobrovsky's friend.
B's fan here. Love Swayman and all his positivity. Love how the Bruins played in game 1 in general. That said, we've won nothing yet and they know as a team they have a mountain to climb, before they can exorcize the demons from last year. No doubt the first game in Sunrise, surprised everyone, but let's focus now on the next game. Florida is still an excellent team and the B's would be wise to respect their ability to bounce back and be ready for a very tough 2nd game/series. Go Bruins!!
You deserve more thumbs ups 😊👍
@munkustrap2 Ha! Thank you sir! Just want them to keep it real. Hoping they can go deep!
Swayman has been electric and he has gotta be an important locker room presence for the Bruins right now. We lost gems like Bergeron, Rask, Chara in recent memory, so we need some heart behind the curtain and I think he’s the guy
Swayman = brick wall under rated mad man
As a Leafs fan...Swayman was just nutz. & it saddens me too see Woll having a better save pct and couldn't play game 7. Just insane. Good luck to the Bruins. As much as they tortured us in Toronto I can only give them there flowers
Sway is one of my favorite goalies period, and my god he’s on fire. As a rangers fan(god willing we get to CF) I don’t want to face Florida, but the bruins are looking absolutely amazing right now
You're Awesome.
If the Bruins win Game 2, then it's legit. If not, Florida is the new Tampa for the Bruins.
They say goalies are a different breed. I think Swayman is a definite example of that. But yea, I can't name a single team that has ever made a deep run without some crazy goaltending. In 2011 it was 'In Timmy We Trust'. 2024 its, It's Swayman babyyyyyy. Let's go Bs!
I'm a Leafs and Habs fan (already an anomaly). I can't say I love Boston, though I would kill to see the Leafs have something close to that sort of team vibe, and as much as I hate to say something nice about Marchand, he is such a leader. But, Swayman is just delightful. I didn't like the bush league move by Domi.
Overconfidence will always kill you. I believe that’s what happened to Boston last season and it’s happening to Florida now.
Swayman is on a roll along with the team and it would be foolish to break that momentum...and for what reason? It's not like he's racing up and down the ice for the whole game and needs a rest. Like the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Even if Pasta scored a double hat trick, Swayman would still be last night's MVP
The only shot sway didn’t stop redirected off his own guy, like over half the goals allowed in these playoffs.
If he stops playing well now, can we call it the Johnny Hawkey jinx, lol
My son suggested Swayman is the new Tim Thomas yesterday.
I was NOT expecting that.
If i've learned anything from watching hockey over the last 15 years, the teams who have the longest breaks between rounds have the hardest time getting back on the horse. Teams that have short breaks between Playoff rounds, end up making it to the Cup. Not always the case, but more often than not.
EXACTLY! The Bruins played 3 game 7’s in their 2011 Cup run.
@@bryanspink8042 they swept philly in rnd 2 though
The reason the B's are a super team is because we have two #1 goalies. Trading Linus is not even an idea. And, let's remember last year when they rode Linus into the dirt, and, didn't put Swayman in the net "hot" and then we lost. There are not too many things that you can look at and see it making money being made while it happens. The game winning hug is one of those things. It means 'we' win.
I wasn't surprised the Bruins rolled over Florida in game one. They had all the momentum and emotion. I knew Florida didn't have a chance against Vegas last year after sitting for 11 days. Florida is in a stronger position this year and I'm sure they'll bounce back in game 2 after this bucket of cold water in the face. If not it looks like a Bruins/Rangers semi.
yea idk why people are so quick to favor the teams that have more rest. they almost always show rust. fatigue is a factor that sets in as the series and playoffs go on, not immediately. but boston has a deep bullpen at all 3 positions so dont expect it to hurt them like it did against tampa in 2018
If it's bruins rangers in the Eastern conference finals it could also be celtics vs Knicks in the nba eastern Conference finals too if. Celtics and Knicks win there series and it'll be boston vs ny like old times and that's a huge market for ratings cause it's basically the whole northeast corridor would watch both finals cause millions live in the areas of New England, ny and nj.
Yes, what is crazy is that there are 4 of the 8 teams now in round 2 of each the NBA and NHL in that situation, and sharing the same arena. Although only NY and COL have the save ownership.
That would be a great match-up another original 6. Yet they have only faced each other once in the last 50 years. Needs to happen more often.
@@macseamus835people are quick to dismiss the impact the Leafs made. As they said the margin of defeat was small. Playing with that kind of character you couldn't necessarily think the Leafs would have rolled over vs the Panthers
I love the Bruins. They're the only professional sports team that I follow. But they have a long, long history of let down. After last season's playoff collapse, I swore I'd never watch another game (though I still check in the following morning to see if they won). That's about all I can do anymore. Too much stress in my life as it is.
Bulldog is a fricken legend!!!!
I watched the video and think the title should be “All you can Sway is wow”
I can’t believe the Bruins already won the Series
Since swayman has entered the league I've had problems with the coaches not giving him a shot especially in 2022 when we found out tukka rask was playing injured that being said if swayman has a bad game or 2 bruins shouldn't hesitate to give ullmark a shot
The Stanley Cup has been won many times because of a hot goalie. As far back as 1971 the juggernaut Boston Bruins came up against a stud by the name of Ken Dryden. Since then, you can make a good argument that at minimum, 25% of cup wins were because of the hot goalie.
If Swayman keeps playing the way he has been, Boston's gonna be hard to beat in a seven game series.
I know it is so early to say, but the panthers cockiness after having a bit of a break while their opponent just finished their series reminds me of them against Vegas last year. It took them two games to play any competitive hockey and then ended up falling over and getting owned in the series. Hope I’m wrong and they can make this series a good one.
A .974 is bonkers at this caliber of hockey, don't fix what ain't broken Jim.
Swayman is the key for Boston to upset everyone on the way to the cup!!!! I'm praying for it haha.
Ullmark is a really really really good insurance policy lol
Paul Maurice was actually saying, that Boston had the advantage, but I guess the players weren’t listening to him…hope they learned their lesson…
with the win lastnight the bruins are 5 and 0 against the panthers this year, why is everyone picking the panthers to win in 5 or 6 games?
I had picked the Bruins in 6
Florida had too much time off.. B's kept the momentum going.
Tbh it’s just a great place to be to have ullmark sat on the bench for when the time comes ….i still expect the panthers to overpower the bruins, the B’s are just too inconsistent. But at least they appear to be making a game of it.
Panthers will bounce back in game 2, they will tighten up the defense and do their best to break swayman.
Depends on Boborovsky. Not a good look for game 1 though.
Yes they’ll bounce back to only lose 2-1.
Get ready for an offer sheet on Swayman
my prediction is Sway gets the net tonight (game 2) to try for stealing both away games. Ullmark gets the pipes for game 3 at home. I don’t think they will pull Swayman with him playing on his head like he has. but I do believe they want to not let Swayman burn out. if Ullmark plays good and gets the win, maybe he gets game 4 also? I don’t feel like Ullmark will be benched for the remainder of the playoffs. maybe he does, but I just don’t see it.
I feel as though if woll was in net game 7 we had the w no offence to Sammy but he is no longer the guy Woll is just so calm I love him reminds me of Carey price I just hope he can stop getting injured rest the man tuff series
I don't think the Bruins will sweep Florida, I think it's going to be a battle of a series. The Cats will wake up for the next game.
What was going in with Bobrosky that game? Sometime it looked like he was missing a skate blade. Swayman seems to be able to ignore all the BS that used to distract him.
As a panthers fan...that was not fun. We just straight up got our *ss beat, can't even blame the refs
Hold on a second here before we jump the gun on this this Bruins team. We fail to understand it's only I mean Game 1. Stop applauding Swayman right away sure I agree with you he's a great goalie. Let's finish the series then we can talk.
As a Bruins fan all I'm worried about is how they're going to sign Swayman to an extension next year. Dude is gonna get paid.
I think he'll want to stay so that will help. Breaking up this goaltending team will be so stupid. I'm worried they'll trade Ullmark for a much needed center though.
@@munkustrap2 They will probably have to move Ullmark and let Debrusk walk to sign Swayman. Ullmark has a no movement clause though and he refused a trade during the deadline so he may stay which would complicate things cap wise.
Swayman will stay in Boston, Bussy will be the back up
Ullmark to the leafs would be funny
Great job on the vid. Good narration, edit. Nothing annoys me more than non-related ‘memes’ inserted thru out a video. 🤙🏽
I'm a bruins fan. And I love Linus. But the bruins should have traded him. Last summer when they were up against the cap. They have another good goalie in providence. Brandon bussi. They can bring him up to be sways back up.
Horrible, horrible performance from the cats. Stats don’t show the whole story, and those 39 shots are deceiving.
Agreed. They didn't look like a 2nd Round SC Playoff team. Their coverage was loose, and the turnovers were ridiculous. At this stage of the season, you have to be more disciplined than that. They aren't the Oilers or Avs who can trade goals and expect to come out ahead. They don't have that sort of elite scoring talent, and neither do the B's, but if you hand them pucks in dangerous places and lose coverage, they're going to burn you.
Another thing to mention, Trent Frederic leads +/-. It means nothing, but like, it doesn't.
I'm calling it right now. Bruins take the cup over Vancouver in 7. All of western Canada burns down.
Nah, just a couple of hectares in Vancouver.
lol
they wont get past carolina or new york
I'm not arrogant enough to predict my team's wins...but I do think Edmonton may have the west coast this year.
@@munkustrap2 West Coast?
Not Pacific?
at peak athletic shape, taking a week off to rest generally weakens you... you kinda want to be playing every other day to stay in peak physical shape. This was not really to Florida's advantage. The real advantage of opponents going to game 7's is the threat of injury.
Boston won the 1st game last year 3-1......
This isn’t 2023 though stop living in the past
GO BRUINS!! Love being a Boston fan, keep it up Swayman.
Enjoy while it last, Panthers are coming 👀
Yeah but you got to score more than 1 goal and it’s a hard thing to do against this Bruins team right now.
As a Hawks fan, I’ve just beeb pulling for anyone but Vegas and the Panthers (can’t stand either team - last years I hated the playoffs.). So, 1 down :). hope Boston doesn’t choke.
they will
@@thegreatmrt Arrogant comment considering the Bruins won every regular season match up this year; that they have some much needed muscle (Maroon was a great addition) now to keep last years cheapshots to a minimum & that Sway is like a walrus in net. Well you saw what happened last year…
Hey bruins fans are you still upset y’all kept Swayman?
I used to be a Buffalo fan, so I'm really happy to see Linus Ullmark succeeding with a great team in front of him. The Bruins have an insane goalie tandem.
I just can't believe Florida collapsed that badly in the second half of the game lol
This is what happened last time tho, went to 7 against the Leafs, smacked the lightning 5-1 game 1 then lost 4 straight
Swayman is already the best American goalie. Yes, better than Hellebuyck and Demko.
The whole, we had extra rest from a early series win, is one of the most overblown advantages in pro sports. These guys are the best of the best, in the absolute best shape to play the sport. Going to 7 games in a series isn't gassing them in the playoffs.
Not the second round, but if they have to slog through another six or seven, they'll be pretty gassed in wcf
@@villeperkkola No worries, I guarantee you Bruins won't be playing in the WCF this year...
@@PatrickWilliams-ts4le I'm not going through all the reasons again but that definitely is an arrogant guarantee. Maybe check the regular season stats between these 2 teams before saying something like that. And I think Bob is a good goalie but Sway is definitely better, & more relaxed. I'm not dumb enough to guarantee they'll win anything but I'm also not dumb enough to guarantee ANY team won't.
@@munkustrap2 maybe you should check the standings real closely and come back to me about your arrogance. Go ahead, I will wait.
@@munkustrap2uhmm. Look at what he was replying to. I'm pretty sure he can guarantee the Bruins won't be in the WCF seeing as they play in the Eastern Conference. They may reach the ECF but they will never reach the WCF.
Watch well rested teams like Colorado and Edmonton lose their game 1s as well.
Ullmark's 2023 team vs. Swayman's 2024 team: who wins?
Everybody, I mean I just love them both :D
2023 team, they only lost cuz Bergeron and krejci were injured
If they were healthy the team would've gone 16-2
As a Bruin's fan, I think the score doesn't reflect how close the game actually was.
I completely agree Swayman is the biggest contributor to the team. He was top notch again last night, but the Panthers got a lot of chances, the Bruins struggled a lot to get the puck out of their zone.
What really won the game was really clutch goals from the Bruins and being able to convert on their chances while the Panthers could not.
Lots of issues to iron out before I believe this team can win the cup.
The way is with Sway! Go Bruins!
Cats will bounce back and take the series.
Teams going game seven are ALWAYS going to beat teams on rest.
That Domi incident was such a dive lol. Domi brushed against him slightly and Swayman starts falling over half a second later. 1:38 at slowmo speed... that's so blatant its funny.
Whine all you want about diving that hot head shouldn't've been close enough to touch Sway, even accidentally. He was trying to intimidate Bulldog & failed.
Swagman is just too strong
No way, first. Worship
It reminded of 2018 when they beat Toronto in seven and then blew out Tampa on the road in game one. The Bruins then lost the next four games in a row. I don't see that happening this year.
