Well that was a real treat and even better than expected. The approach to Paro is rather exciting and definitely not your usual commercial flight. I would guess it's well suited to those with plenty of 'seat of the pants' experience (which you clearly have in spades). Lovely to see the Thruster too - I almost bought a share in one of those but it was a nosewheel version and I would much rather fly the taildragger. The Vauxhall just needed a 'hoot hoot' to create the perfect Toad moment. 😉 Thanks for yet another splendid video.
The later Thrusters aren't quite so much fun; a nosewheel and doors take away from the pioneering spirit of the early machines. However, they are cheap and practical (and the nosewheel versions are easy to fly). Paro was great, I like any approach that gives me an excuse to disconnect the automatic stuff.
Always a very interesting airport to fly along into. Probably not half as interesting as _flying_ into it, although it looked rock steady. Thanks for taking us along!
@@FlyingForFunTrecanairoh no, I haven’t. Sorry I was unclear, I’ve only watched a plethora of fly-alongs here on RUclips. I can imagine it’s quite exciting, even in a seat with less view than yours. 👍
@@foowashere Most of the fly alongs into Paro mention things like 'most dangerous airport in the world', 'scary' etc. All a bit namby-pamby for me. It wasn't dangerous, just splendid!
from Airknocker to Kneeknocker. That was a very impressive landing at Paro, Skiathos looks pretty simple in comparison and it is interesting that you have a pilot along with you, not unlike a ship having a marine pilot entering port. Thank you very much for this, I never know what to expect next on your channel!
I often wondered what your day job was, it's as interesting as your hobbies! Thank you again for allowing us a glance over your shoulder, a very enjoyable little jaunt from the comfort of our armchairs!
I'm going to make sure I carry the GoPro every time but most approaches are rather boring (although that's my opinion, probably because of doing it all the time!). Maybe I should post a bit more modern stuff now and then if people find it interesting? A comparison between the GoPro 5 and 10 in the flight deck might be worth trying?
That’s certainly a good idea. I’m rather hoping for another Bhutan trip in the future, the approach onto the other runway direction (15) is even better.
Thanks for sharing 3 very different forms of transport with us in this very well crafted video.
@@gordanmilne7034 I’m not sure how much crafting went on; a decent slice of luck helped this film along 🙂
Another excellent well presented video. Enjoyed it greatly. Thanks Nick.
Hope you are on the mend?
Great to capture Bhutan. Thanks for sharing quite the approach, what amazing scenery!
Another great video! Bhutan, beautiful, but what a place to land.
I only had a couple of days notice of the flight and I was already away from home. GoPro and fittings will be in my bag next time!

The words of a proper pilot rather than a computer programmer. 😎👍 Keep the great content coming, sir.
Great stuff, Bhutan wow! The filming was great & what a lovely motor! Cheers! Keith
Another gripping episode! You are having far too much fun, you lucky blighter. Thanks for allowing us to share your adventures.😉
My pleasure. Hope to see you soon.
Splendid video. Great to see the Paro approach - thanks for that. Looking forward to a bit more of an insight into flying the Thruster.
I'll make a film about the Thruster soon, now I've got a sensible camera arrangement for it.

Have you flown in to Paro as a passenger? I was quite busy flying but the 'oohs' from the cabin suggested the passenger view was spectacular.

Some of us do have an inner Toad, I understand the struggle.
… a fellow sufferer. Poop Poop! 🤣🤣
love the way the accelerating vauxhall sounds exactly like a WW@ air raid siren.
Worn out straight cut gears; it all goes quiet once in top gear as it’s direct drive 👍🏻
Great video, thanks!
Thanks

Would a "Go Amature-1" be more affordable?
@@paulhelman2376 🤣🤣🤣 yes, probably!
Would have preferred the works transport to have been a Westland Wallace…… Still good fun.

Cockpit banter next time please!
I'm not sure I dare to, there would be quite a lot of fruity lingo to erase.

Surely that Bhutan approach is day-vfr only. Right? Right? BTW, love the whine of the Vauxhall's straight cut gears. Delightful all around.

Any small cameras that could lash on a peanut scale model?
I've never researched such things but I imagine they exist.
Splendid; Poop Poop!
