We leaned the SOAP method in my youth group too! After we had a handle on doing the basic SOAP method, but some students were having trouble coming up with observations or what exactly to include, he introduced SPEAK within the Observation step:
S: summary
P: promises of God
E: error/example
A: answers to questions i have or prayers i have (or additional questions i have)
K: knowledge of who God is
What a great bridge between Bible time as part of your homeschool together and moving out and being all in their own. I love how you teach them to study the Bible on their own! I’m inspired.
Just so you know you taught me how to do soak (like for myself) also with this video. I don’t know why even with knowing what the acronym stood for it still seemed complicated. But with the examples you gave that seems so simple.

Starting this today! My kids have been reading one chapter a day but no writing.
Can you share what devotions you use with your kids? My kids are 15, 13, 11, 11, and 6. I especially need help with my size year old.
It isn't devotions per se, but I really like Bible Treasures.
Would love a visual of this.

Do you have recommendations of bibles for kids? For different ages? What translation do you prefer for them?
I use the KJV - even with my 6 year old, because I want her to memorize that version. It is rhythmic, like poetry, and the old English helps with grammar and Latin.
Also, I forgot to add, that I use Bible Treasures for Bible summaries. My kids memorize KJV verses.
I saw in one of your videos that you do For Such a Time as this. Is this the method you use for that? I am trying to find something that my almost 5yo can get into using....
So do they read one chapter a day?
