What a week for Hazbin Hotel. The huge emotional Lucifer reveal episode, followed by some absolutely massive lore bombs in episode 6. PLUS the episode is set in HEAVEN, and some of the twists and turns this story and world are taking have me pretty excited about the possibilities here. This one is going to focus on episode 6 Welcome to Heaven, and, well.. HEAVEN, and the really exciting angles they’re taking with the society itself.

Most of the characters in helluva boss (the imps, succubi, hell hounds, and goetia) are "hell spawn" like Charlie who were born in hell and never had a chance to get into heaven

@Sephano172 And often times it's far too cruel and executes innocents. That would be murder in the eyes of any divine authority.
But in the case of the show, the heavenly host themselves don't even know what it takes to get to heaven. If a version of god was there, then it would, perhaps, be different, but we have no evidence of one. Even the beginning only showed Sera.
They don't know what sends someone to heaven, which implies that they don't know what it takes to deprive someone of it. It's not even a system, at the moment, it's just happenstance that they roll with.
What was Vaggie's sin? Sparing a child? If there is a proper divine authority there, and it hasn't intervened to stop that or Adam, then that tells you everything that you need to know about it.
They don't know what sends a soul to heaven. They don't know what sends a soul to hell. There is no hint whatsoever of a god or any entity that does know. The whole thing is morally bankrupt.
Sinners in hell are working hard to earn redemption, and are denied because those in control refuse to shake their status quo, despite the effort and lack of any solid evidence for the reasons behind damnation.
i think either emily will become a fallen angel, or try to fix heaven from the inside
I think they are gonna try to work together to make it better and more fair but idk how there gonna do that with the other angles not wanting it lol well we don’t know how the normal angles feel about it cuz they don’t know about it but still

Traditionally, Lucifer is portrayed as having brought a bunch of angels down to Hell with him, and some of the angels in Hazbin have a lot of visual similarities to the Ars Goetia from Helluva, so I think it's possible that the very oldest of the Goetia (like Stolas's father Paimon) might be fallen angels

Beelzebub in the Bible was one of the angels Lucifer brought with him to hell we bet her though in hellveboss I’m guessing if anything she might have been one of those receptionist we saw in heaven originally since there were deer there and foxes sorta like what bee looks like
We actually see a number of them as contacts in Charlie's phone briefly. So the implication is that they exist. (Barbatos, Asmodeus etc)

That’s the question, it makes sense that Emily may become fallen because she will most likely rebel. But then again, it’d suck if Charlie’s one ally in heaven ended up a fallen angel and she ends up with no one on her side in heaven.
Her one *known* ally. Charlie made a splash at the court. Emily could make a splash in the public eye. If she's banished after that, there will be a real question of whether or not the good people of heaven can accept what they watched happen.

Emily is what an angel should be. The fact that the extermination was made to "prevent" an uprising, it has actually been what has lead to many of the residents, especially Overlords like Velvette, to want to rise up and put an end to this. As said, the Sinners are human souls as well. Those weapons made to kill them, were made to kill the souls of humans.

If Emily does become a fallen angel, I'll bet it'll be on her own terms. Because she may know the risks but that doesn't mean she will just stand by and let Sera, Adam and Lute get away with the extermination.
And if Emily gets send down to Hell, It wouldn't be all bad because at least she wouldn't be alone down there. I mean Charlie would no doubt let Emily live at the hotel. And Sera might miss Emily but I think deep down she would be grateful that Charlie would be looking after Emily.
And we see the council (is it a council?) being split in regards to the extermination. Charlie even says their at each others throat. So there are propably others, who disagree with Sera and Adam. And if Emily gets thrown in hell for having the wrong oppinion, it may divide the elders of heaven even more

3:45 Only if you ignore Helluva Boss. Imps, Hellhounds, Succubi, the Goetia family, practically every character in Helluva Boss was born in hell, the only exceptions being I.M.P.'s various clients.

@@johl9056 Maybe it implies that Charlie has a soul? The biggest difference between sinners and hellborn is that sinners hav souls, and thats why sinners can only be killed by angelic weapons, and can form overlord contracts.
@@justtj8085 possibly. In that way she would definitely be unique since she's technically half demonic human and half angel. But that's not really what Johnny was saying. That also begs the question of whether angels or any other heaven born have souls or if it's purely a human trait. I feel like it wouldn't make sense for hell born to not have souls but heaven born do.
Actually this goes even further because then we have the question of if sinners are able to have kids in hell or if they're completely unable to get pregnant/get someone pregnant. Can only hell born reproduce? Cause if sinners could then presumably their children might also have souls, but maybe being in hell makes it so you're incapable of being born with a soul. Idk there's just a lot of questions.
@@johl9056 Sinners are confirmed to be unable to reproduce, only the hellborn can.
Just to note: Charlie isn't the only "Hellborn" in the series, though the first that is obviously of major focus. For example, the Overlord Rosie is actually a Hellborn who rules the Cannibal Colony - she even takes the time to welcome in new Sinners and teach them the ways of the Colony and the death/re-death cycle there.

It would be interesting if Emily and a group of angels went down to hell during the extermination to protect the sinners, it would lead to some interesting moments, like Angel re-uniteing with his sister Molly (who we see in the background of the episode)

One thing I like about Vaggie's reveal is that it recontextualizes episode 3. With episode 3, she mentions how 'she was taught' and her verses in 'Whatever it Takes' show how she felt being in hell
The thing I want to see is Emily interact with Lucifer. I want to see them be a big brother and sister dynamic. And see Emily react to being Charlie's aunt

Literally standing hand-in-hand with a Nephilim and saying "Heaven must be a lie" no wonder Sera's so afraid for her
Also knowing that Vaggie is an angel brings so many questions to how she reacted to Lucifer in ep5 and how he's gonna react to her in the future
My theory is when it comes to Heaven and Hell it is you are sent to where you think you belong. Notice how no one in Hell goes to the hotel thinking they shouldn't be there. You would think someone would be shouting "I don't belong here. I belong in Heaven" if you did not go where you thought you should you would be flipping out. Also see how Heaven thinks everyone in Hell is below them. The only ones who ended up in Hell after being in Heaven was Lucifer who in the end seeing how human are decided what he did was bad and Lucy which we have yet to see. Also Vaggie is in Hell never thinking she could go to Heaven because she thinks she deserved it going against the army. She never tried to get back meaning she thinks she deserves to be in Hell. Everyone we see thinks they are where they should be. Angeldust who is the "See he filled out the requirements" has shown over and over he thinks he deserves Hell. Also explains why Adam and his right hand woman can be in Heaven even though all we see they are awful. They believe they should be there thus why they are there.
I second this theory. The sinners repeatedly tell Charlie that this is the end of the line.

@@MD-od2ht no, that means she does think she should be there. She thought doing that one thing made her go to Hell. She thought she would have gone to Heaven but because she did one thing at the end she deserved Hell. If she did not she would have said "Why am I here? I only did one small thing that was bad". She knew doing one bad thing would send her there.

I agree Emily will start a Heaven protest against the extremnation with human angels help her (keep in mind Angel's sister is in heaven and was shown in the welcome to heaven) and this will result in the human souls being kicked out (possibly not all just the leaders) but Sera might not kick out Emily. I also 100% agree Hazbin is a show where I just want a filler episode of the characters just talking or going out to the store.
I like the idea that Adam didnt eat the apple, and therefore doesnt have a sense of right and wrong as a result
I think Sera actually has another reason, it sounds like an uprising isn't enough, she looks scared and worried about something out of her control, something from outside.

THANK YOU! I feel like people seem to ignore this fact! There already was an attempted uprising by the demons via Lilith leading it (supposedly) which led to the extermination in the first place. During the big song at the end of episode six, she mentions that there are "things they don't know," that also hint at something much bigger and more dangerous at hand.
Something dangerous.... Lurking in the shadows... And who's currently muzzled? An eldricht power who doesn't look infernal or angelic...Doesn't it remind you of someone?

If this does happen to her, I imagine she might actually take some satisfaction from it. Sure, she's exiled from her home, but given what she's just learned of her home and her people, she might not be too upset at no longer having ties with them 🤔

In Hazbin Hotel's sister show "Helluva Boss", Asmodeus, the Sin of Lust, mentioned that he and Mammon, the Sin of Greed, have known each other since the literal start of Hell. So I'm not sure whether Lucifer is really the only fallen angel in Hell right now (excluding Vaggie)...
honesty I think the most important thing Charlie's parents are hiding to her, it is the heaven war. Declaring the war to heaven remove their status of victims, explian why heaven is so untrustful of hell. 2 thing they are hiding; extremination is recent, extremination is born with Charlie's birth. Because Charlie is antichrist a sign of Apocalypse,so elder angels want to kill her,but Lucifer make adeal about keeping population of hell low, some Apocalypse prophecy says the last days start with hell being full

That could be possible.
However, I'd argue that just because most Goetia are hellborn, it doesn't mean everyone of them has to be as well. The Goetia could very well been started by fallen angels who had hellborn offsprings. As we've seen with Lucifer and his hellborn daughter Charlie, that is possible.
In the opening of episode 1, it was stated that Lucifer and Lilith accidentally created Hell after giving Eve the Fruit of Knowledge. Therefore, while you are right that Hell pre-dates Lucifer's fall, it doesn't seem by much.
It could be that he was created alongside the other 5 Sins when Hell came into being. Or even afterwards by Lucifer or another power. Just like it could be that he is a fallen angel like his king and fellow Deadly Sin Lucifer.
I guess we'll have to wait and see whether that ever gets answered...

I think Charlie's and Vaggie's relationship is shaken but considering Charlie is all about second chances as well as the reason Vaggie ended up in Hell, I think their relationship is gonna survive and come out stronger, as true relationships always should when reaching the hurdles thrown their way.
I presume it's gonna be something like this: Vaggie, who's self-loathing was already mentioned by Husk, is gonna feel unworthy of being at Charlie's side and leaves next episode. But then, they'll meet up again, talk about it like the adults they are and Charlie, already having decided to forgive her, also convinces her to give herself a second chance..
And then they realize the Extermination is about to start in 24 hours.
Did anyone else notice Emily’s dress, on the part where her chest is, once Sara talks about “doing what was required” it changed from almost like a star or flower into an eye, showing her eyes have been opened to the truth.
The same happened to Sera later in the episode. It happens when a Heavenly character is agitated or angry.
A mass banishment would be interesting, but wanna know what I think would be even more interesting? A mass voluntary exodus. Angels/winners choosing to leave Heaven to help redeem sinners would be a very interesting inversion of the internal conflict angle. Plus, we saw Molly in the background, and were ar one point told we're going to meet her. What better way than for her to choose to go to Hell in the hopes of helping her family redeem themselves? I think that was originally part of her concept, making it to Heaven but choosing Hell to stay with her family, so this would be a good call back to that. It could also give Lucifer some renewed hope.
Ho I like it better than a massive banishment! For Sera, people leaving heaven voluntary would be a political DISASTER! Especially if Emily, her right hand, is among them
The duet reprisal was astounding but MAN, I can't stop thinking about that fire reflecting in Cera's eyes, such a brilliant glimpse at dark madness fueling some of her actions. I have re-watched it a couple times, cannot WAIT for next week's episodes!
She’s the opposite of Adam. In which Adam actually is depressed with the entire situation in hell and hides it behind a literal goofy mask while Sera has a far more violent and sinister outlook for Hell that is hidden behind her charming and polite personality.
During the welcome to heaven song, there was a pink spider angel, that a lot of people think is Angel 's sister Molly.
Depending on how close the two were, she might also choose to leave Heaven if she learns about the extermination and what Angel did at the club. (And how he still wasn't accepted into heaven.) I think it would interesting if Emily (and maybe Molly) became recurring characters in season 2.
I feel like Emily's role works best in Heaven. If she becomes a fallen angel she'll just fade into the background. Another Charlie with Vaggie's angel turncoat backstory.

I believe 12 episodes per season allow enough room to go deeper into the story without dragging things out.
Will you make a theory on Adam being secretly a sinner? Since he’s seems to be the only one who wears his armor 24/7 and him generally sucking
Or why the lower heaven born denizens like Deerie know what it takes (or not takes) to get/stay in heaven and someone like Sera doesn’t
I feel like Adam's whole thing is 'the people at the top MAKE the rules and thus are allowed to BREAK them without repercussion.'
I think Adam's character design is noteworthy here: he is the only "angel" I can recall with demon teeth and horns.
@@illusionofjoy I want to say the teeth and horns are similar to the Exterminator soldiers (and it was verified by Vivzie), since the helmets from them themselves are officially an LED helmet, and not their true face. With a similar style with his face, I could see Adam's head looking more human like the others, being the first man.
I think that Adam ended up in heaven because first sin was done by his son Cain and not by him
Adam and Eve commited the first sin together when lucifer talked Eve into eating the forbidden fruit and she in turn convinced Adam. Their son Cain was guilty of commiting the first murder.
Although on that sunday-schooly note, I wonder if Cain and his brother Abel will be characters later on in the show.
These two epiosdes have given me a whole new look on the entire show, and it's MUCH better for it. Above all I want to see Emily intrract with Lucifer i feel like that could be amazing.
3:53 Actually, there are other hellborns like Charlie. Helluva Boss takes place in the same universe but focusses on Imps and hellhounds (hellborn species). They also showcase powerful demons that represent the seven deadly sins. On top of that, some old lore of hazbin talks about the Eldrich Family: a family powerful hellborns that were friends with charlie`s family.
If an angel can get demoted to Hell then a demon should be able to get promoted to Heaven. It's only fair.
I think that Emily might go down to hell. Not exactly fallen persay.
After a few more tries of trying to figure something out she'd be given a final warning. So rather then be cast out/down, she'd leave willingly.
Seeing that she can't figure something out within heaven she'd then go down to hell to help Charlie and to brainstorm with her to find a solution to get redeemed sinners into heaven. Her absence in heaven would be quickly noticed given what her role is and that she is a very public figure. She'd probably leave a note for Sera.
But that could put Emily in great danger. She just appearing in hell wouldn't be as bad, it's where in hell. She could end up in the hands of some very bad demons that wouldn't be kind to her.
So she should do everything she can to appear as close to the hotel as possible with the ideal place to appear within the hotel.
They can make Adam's hatred of hell and human sinners much more reasonable if they add the story his sons Cain and Abel to the show's canon (also a reason to extra hate Lilith for indirectly starting the chain of events that led to his son being murdered)
Ive seen a lot of reactions to Episode 6 and everyone is always like "oh Charlie will understand and forgive Vaggie for being an *ANGEL*" when they all seem to forget that shes not just an angel, but one of Adam's top Exocrists as we can imply from "You think I wouldn't recognize one of my top girls just because you're out of uniform"
Lute references other hellborns in the first episode, it isn’t just in helluva boss.
So much is happening in Season 1 that I have no solid idea of what will be in Season 2.
A good twist is when it isn’t that predictable, but also not that hard to catch, like something that a fan alone would have a hard time figuring out, but a group of people together could point out different things leading to the twist

Can we all appreciate how Molly, Angel Dusts twin sister, is finnaly shown to be in heaven
I can't remember if anything from the Pilot or Helluva Boss contradicts this idea, but what if it's a The Good Place situation, where only the best of the best, or even maybe NO Humans get into the HelluvaVerse Heaven (outside Adam of course and maybe those closest to this version of Jesus since we saw Paul). Could be that the Highest Ranking Angels, maybe even above Sara, create new Angels and give them false memories of a time on Earth, while sending the actual humans down to Hell. Could make for a great plot twist and explain why the Angels we met don't know how Souls are actually judged
I did notice some good place parallels in the last episode
A heaven uprising would be particularly interesting is Emily mentions angel as a specific example, given Angela twin sister is in heaven. I can't imagine her being okay with exterminations, especially if she finds out he's improving and doing his best
My theory for the end of the season is that who's ever in charge of judging souls decides to give Charlie a chance to prove sinners can be redeemed and that's what season 2 will be about. Maybe purgatory will become a think or the hotel itself will become a purgatory (viv stated in the pilot Livestream that purgatory wasn't a set in stone place in the series yet but they did joke about what it would be like)
I don't think Charlie would blame Vaggie too much for her past, she will struggle with the facts of her past but I think that ultimately they will be fine. Charlie is all about redemption so why would she not forgive? Though it would create a huge morale quandary in Charlies character.
yes, I think the same thing, yes it will be hard for Charlie, but Vaggie will explain everything and Charlie may understand, maybe even praise her for refusing to kill that demon child.
“We know when a soul arrives.” I can’t help but start almost maniacally laughing at that line because of one quote from history (specifically when a crusade took a city and was trying to figure out how to tell the Christians from everyone else) “kill them all and let god sort them out” either the seraphim’s are agreeing to that idea or can’t admit they’re just as clueless
I’m going to say this, if there does happen to be an angel uprising, I truly wish that Angel dust sister Molly will probably be one of the first few to join when figuring out that her brother who she has confirmed to be really close with along with the rest of her family down in hell constantly in danger, every year with the lingering threat of being killed, which is now been increased every half a year she’s definitely not gonna be happy about it and want to do anything she can to help her at least that’s my theory
"If Hell is forever, then Heaven is a lie" is one of the most hard hitting lines I never thought I could hear and it was impactful.
heaven and hell will collapse, as Prince Stolas has foretold, he doesn't know if he will survive the conflict, but all he wants to make sure is that Octavia survives the conflict.
I don’t think Hazbin hotel’s story would affect Helluva boss. Vivzie said there would be no crossover because of copyright issues, Hazbin being on Amazon. It would have been a nice idea because I wish there was a crossover.
When Emily and Charlie started singing in unison, I'm not gonna lie, I got a real 'God is talking through them' vibe.
They way Sera says Emily when her and Charlie start singing in unison with that frearfull tone makes me think she don’t have full control over who’s fallen.

I didn’t realize that much time had passed between the episodes, I thought it was maybe a couple weeks to a month but then they escalated the time even more after the meeting in heaven. It wasn’t until after I saw stuff on social media, I realize that, that amount of time passed.
I could see her falling but I'm hoping she is able to influence Sera in stopping all this. But we shall see!!

one plot point that i havent seen much discussion about is that if a bunch of angels do fall to hell they will probably become the new overlords, wanting to carve out their own domain to lick their wounds and regain some control and respect.
at current the only reason the sinners are overlords is because lucifer is just checked out of leadership, and we see that he is able to easily outpower Alistor who is one of if not the strongest sinner around. so bringing a group of angry powerful beings into hell would spell chaos and carnage unlike any extermination before.
Charlie's predicaments brings up the "Sins of the Father" question. Are they judging her for what Lucifer did? Is that why she's not welcome to stay in Heaven, even though she's arguably half-Angel herself?
I think the creator confirmed a season 2 to be in the works for recording on her instagram
After Inside Job I only believe in a new season when it drops.

Given how many of the people assembled in the court were appalled upon learning of the Extermination I think there is going to be immense political fallout for Sera and especially for Adam. At minimum I can see the Exterminations being suspended pending a judicial review.

Also weirdly I see parallels between Sera and Carmilla since both are kind of pragmatic leaders but end up killing to protect their people. (Albeit Sera on a much bigger scale). Maybe I just want a duet between the two of them but I think there's something there that's similar. I also agree that I wish there were more episodes overall just chilling at the hotel and getting to know the characters better. Only so much you can do with 8 episodes.
Hell has an ecosystem and native species. Both animals and people who are just "hellborn"
All Imps, Succubi, Loan Sharks, whatever Striker is, deep sea demons, goat sloth demons, Hellhounds and Arsgoetia were all born in hell, basically all Helluva Boss characters besides the sinners who go to I.M.P.
Charlie isnt the only one, there are native species to hell, like the Cannibals of the Overlord Rosie..m
With the developments in the last two episodes, I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Emily try to fix things from the inside. Also, I'm not entirely opposed to Charlie, Vaggie and Emily forming some sort of polycule. Charlie and Emily certainly have the chemistry.

Through the banishment or just because she would want to see the scene by herself, I'm sure that those will be present:
-> Emily in hell
-> Rebellion in heaven (or at least some kind of protests)
-> Conflict between heaven and hell
To be honest I absolutely love these episodes but I do agree that there should be more episodes to explore the consequences of some actions.
Also I would really love to see Adam getting into some major trouble with heaven because of everything he has done. I am referring to him hiding the Dead Exorcist from everyone and what he did to vaggie when that is revealed to Heaven. because I don't think people would appreciate that he gets to decide who stays and who has to go. especially when she earned her position in heaven through whatever means it takes.
Also I love seeing the pilot designs in this episode since it does give some continuity.
but really I'm also hoping for Sarah to kind of open her eyes and realize that the extermination isn't working and there are only more problems coming and that you become afraid of Emily following Lucifer's footsteps.
I definitely think she isn't a bad guy but she is trying her best to protect heaven but doesn't realize that what she is doing is wrong… yet.

I think one interesting idea for angels getting cast down to hell is that assuming it included human souls is itd be against lucifers punishment his punishment was to never see the good that came from his actions and these human souls other then their rebellion would be otherwise pure souls so if heaven would have a couple choices in the case of a rebellion cast them down and basically end lucifers punishment, find someway to seclude Lucifer from them, keep them in heaven but secluded or let the exorcists "deal" with them and honestly none of these options carry no risk

The thing I found interesting is not that Vaggie is an angel but they show why she fell, and it was because she... *checks notes* spared the life of a child.
The child has to be a sinner as it's mentioned previously that hellborn get a pass due to a deal lucifer made but still that wouldn't normally be considered an evil act and we don't know if it's repeated behaviour or just one off thing (the latter is barely a rebellion considering their stated goal of preventing uprising)

It's currently speculated that the other deadly sins seen in Helluva Boss (Asmodeus, Queen Bee-lzebub, Mammon, etc.) are also fallen angels as well. Also, as others stated, the eldest of the Ars Goetia, such as Paimon.

Heaven and Hell may have their own consciousness, as Heaven is a philosophical monad and Hell is Azathoth, and entry into it is determined by your actions. What I also fear is Azathoth, who devours the souls of those slaughtered in the annual genocide so that he can overpower the monad when he awakens. My interpretation: He is the Monad and Azathoth are the creators of the universe, Hazbin Hotel and Heluva Boss, because Stolas mentioned Azathoth’s tears in his song and perhaps the Monad and Azathoth struggle endlessly as a primitive state, which is the form that existed before.

Not just Charlie, creatures like the imps and goetia were also born in hell. Quite a lot of beings never got a chance to be good
Among Hell's royalty, Octavia is also Hell-born. So are all the imps and hellhounds.
Charlie and Emily feel like echos of eachother, and like, I hope it doesn't go that way, but I could totally see Emily trying to grapple with the injustices of heaven and either falling like lucifer or willingly going down to help with the hotel, but either way, she's definitely gonna end up being the angel most ready to work alongside charlie, whether in heaven or at the hotel itself.
I need a longer season. No joke, the story would be much much better with more time and i am not the only one saying this. That is a rear occaison were like every fan wants just more.
