Love this! I am a big fan of wooden palettes, they look, smell and feel so good. You did an excellent job with this project and the logo is great as well!
I loved the palette.... I'd make hald pan sized holes to make the paints interchangeable. The overall idea is so new and unique....none of the brands have thought of magnetic closure...
Now I'd like one also, you're lucky you have the talent to make it, I'd be missing at least three fingers 😂 not very good with power tool but I'm pretty good with a paintbrush 🖌️ 😊
I thought about making one, but I like the white store bought one. It has a lot more mixing area. So I was able to pop the half pan out and dig out the colors and put my own in. I’ve been doing that for years .
Enjoyed the whole process... Handmade stuffs hold a particular charm❤️... Can u please tell me what is that white spray kinda coating which you used on the upper lid of the box???
@@niazhannanwatercolors Maybe you could add a white layer of paint and then you could coat it with epoxy resin. Time consuming to paint each wells and coat resin but I guess it is worth it. Just my suggestion. I'm not sure whether it is practically possible.
Interesting that this popped up as recommended. I bought two wooden palettes from Etsy that arrive today. I don’t have the tools or patience to make my own but I now appreciate what goes into the ones I ordered. I’ve seen them done two ways one with magnets to hold the pieces together when opened and also with hinges at the back. Nice work on yours enjoy. By the way what is the light blue color under the white gouache?
Aaaa..that's really cute, compact, good size, functional..actually this is a fun set... If I go on a trip I love to keep this pallet with me.. alwazzz❤️😘❤️
Cool project! I love how it turned out. I was cringing, though, watching you with that power saw. 😬😬😬Using magnets to keep the palette closed and to stick the two halves together when it's open - such a great idea. Much easier than trying to install hinges and latches - and the result is streamlined and elegant. Very nice.
i love your video so much, it is satisfying to see.... so linseed oil does seal the wood? nice to know! also how crazy it is, reducing days, a week even of hard work in....a 10 minute video xD
Thank you 😊 Like other hand-rubbed oil finishes, linseed oil saturates deep into the wood grain to protect against scratches and changes in humidity. It is easy to care for, eco-friendly, and produces a satin finish that really brings out the color and grain of the wood underneath.
It's a fun little project, but after the use with liquid tube paint, if you put it in a bag or in the pocket, it will leak and smudge inside like crazy. You should have tried doing the same, but dig deeper wells to fit watercolour pans; dry pans can't be wetted through and will remain solid.
@@niazhannanwatercolors As I said above, it's a fun little project .. but for real watercolour use, it is impractical. It's good for kids, though ... the palette being made from wood, if filled up with food colour, it is safer than giving kids plastic or metal palettes. I think, my friend, you have unintentionally opened up a new market many never even considered! Start making those wooden palettes and sell them to mums; they'll sell better than any metal palette for pros…
love that you actually took us through your thought process. This is what Art is, not just the final product.
Totally awesome. Thank you very much for sharing. Enjoy!
Wow beautiful palette . You can add either a piece of clear glass or plexiglass in the mixing area for easier cleanup.
Rustic and beautiful. Made by your own hands makes it priceless❤

Am glad thank you! Its just a white water base paint which didn’t work well for the mixing area. Its get stainy real vad

Nice, but a few little hinges might hold the lid more securely. I keep imagining that the lid will fall back when you dig your brush in to mix.

A piece of wood, a chisel, sand paper, magnets and some kinda glue
Where are you based in india
Guwahati, Assam

Thank you😑

This pallet is good but I didn't get why you added gold glitter and then why you removed it later 🙄
Thanks!...I didn't like the gold. Wanted NHW to standout so I've changed my plan☺
wow o/
please degrease your saw blade you wont get the burn marks then use high proof alcohol or a degreasing agent
That circular saw was not used safely at all. You could have been seriously injured. A hand saw would have gotten the job done and far more safely.

Making holes with such a big knife doesn't seem very clever. Please be careful and protect your fingers.

Do not cut wood like this guy, you will lose fingers, terrible demonstration!
