As someone who has used a selfie stick on our local hill, I definitely understand that feeling lol. But the footage did look dope, just do what feels right. We appreciate the vibes🤙
Sweet man, I appreciate the input. I liked the footage quite a bit so I'll probably use it some more. It's all about the art form right? Thank very much for commenting, I was wondering what everyone thought.
Heres hoping the snow will be good the end of February. Taking the family for our first ever ski trip. Looking forward to spending a lot of time on Navajo 😁
February is usually one of our absolute best months for snow. I think you guys will have a blast regardless of the snow, if it is your very first time skiing or snowboarding I would Highly recommend getting lessons for everyone. Lessons will make things much more fun and safe and spare you some frustration. Well, thanks for watching my video and commenting. I look forward to hearing how your trip goes!
@@skipatrollife-southernutah7805 Hey I was wondering how the lifts work...can someone ride up with no skis on and then ride back down or would they have to stay on the lift till it gets back down the mountain? I saw the Uphill Traffic Policy but just wanted to clarify if that meant on the lift as well lol my wife is pregnant and I was wondering if she could just ride the lift for the view.
@@samdiaz6437 Good question, unfortunately during the winter only skiers and snowboarders with their sliding gear are allowed to go on the lift. Occasionally on Ski Patrol we'll take a guest down the on an emergency basis and the Lift Operators will also go up or down via the lift if they need to. During the summer we actually have the lift open for biking, hiking, and general sight seeing. That would be a great time for your wife to.ride the lift and see the mountain. Congratulations on your upcoming baby, that's super cool!
@@skipatrollife-southernutah7805 Well we made it out here! Checked in at Cedar Breaks Lodge and we took your advice and did the lessons over at Navajo yesterday. Did the guided snowmobile tour today just as the snow started getting going and that was crazy awesome. Overall we have had a blast here at Brian Head! Awesome experience for a bunch of Floridians 😆
You need to get an Instant Pot and AIr Fryer in your ski patrol shack. The things you can make! I do Costco Chicken Bakes in the air fryer along with other small appetizers (pizza rolls) and with the Instant Pot; Kung Pao Chicken (Trader Joe's), jambalaya, huevos rancheros, fajitas and more.
That sounds like a great idea, it would be nice to have some crisp chicken instead of cold and slimy chicken. We do use the Lift Operators microwave, the shack on Lift 1 is new and a bit of a work in progress.
You are 100% correct, I'm looking for a blue tooth mic and camera combination that will work for high winds. I appreciate your input, it definitely helps to hear your thoughts.
Yep, the snowplows go up and down the road continuously, they generally are able to keep it very clear. If you have at least a front wheel drive vehicle, drive smart, and keep your momentum going you'll be fine. In nine years of working up there I have chained up once, I have never needed to since then, they keep the road plowed much better these days. I hope you guys have a great time up here. Let me know if you are curious about anything else.

What is your primary job out of curiosity as you said you are a part time patroller? I assume in the EMT field?
I am a commercial helicopter pilot and currently help to make sure navigational aids work properly. I apologize for the vagueness.
Hopefully, this storm gave you guys a few inches of new fluff.
Oh man, it is already soooooo much better! We are hoping for more over the next three days, I'm stoked.
I think a mic would be beneficial. Your voice tends to get muffled over the wind.

I’ll be coming from SoCal soon! wondering how the drive is once you hit Parowan? Is the road typically cleared out?
