This is so heartwarming and seeing Mickey meet Walt felt so special. What did you think of Once Upon a Studio?
I saw it with my family, and I loved it. Seeing hearing all those classic Disney characters, some from my childhood like Emperor Kuzco, Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet and Milo Thatch from Atlantis the Lost Empire, along with hearing my favorite silly old bear singing a line from When You Wish Upon a Star and, most importantly, seeing that bit of Mickey looking up at his creator and oldest friend, Walt Disney, my storytelling hero, my inspiration, while his favorite song, Feed the Birds, played by the famous Richard Sherman, was the icing on this centennial birthday cake.
I started tearing up when Mickey looked up at his animator/creator's portrait, then bawled my eyes shen they all sang. Never knew there's too much nostalgia. 😢

The way they animated his reflection in the portrait and made it look seamless. I am impressed.
I absolutely love that they brought Jeremy Irons back as Scar. He hasn’t voiced him since the original Lion King movie and it was so amazing to hear him again, even if it was just for one line.
Shame that they didn't bring James Earl Jones to play...

@@exodia9817 in France, Scar's voice actor died not long before the live action of " The Lion King " came out. He was also the french voice of Frollo in " The hunchback of Notre-Dame ".
I was sad because they didn't reused the voice of Roger Carel, a man who voiced a lot of Disney characters of my childhood, like they did with Robin Williams.

The reason why they chose goofy as the photographer is because in the 90s for Goof Troop and the Goofy movie he was a Mall photographer so it makes sense.

He’s done plenty of photography in other shorts, though, so I think the simpler answer is just “it’s funny”

The reason why some 2D characters look different than others isn’t really because it’s a short, it’s more so because they’re trying to match how the characters looked in their respective films. Some films looked smoother than others like Cinderella and some had a rougher and sketchier look like The Black Cauldron.
I was happy they colored Cinderella's dress like it was in the VHS version
4:38 Robots is not a Disney film, it's from Blue Sky, and the robot you see is from Meet the Robinsons.

To be fair, William Joyce did work on both so it’s probably easy to make that mistake
(5:06) We know Disney can’t use Robin Williams’s unused archive audio without a say from his estate. In this case, his daughter Zelda. She was very vocal about the use of her dad’s voice and material in some projects.
I love that she let them use his voice for this short, this is the perfect project for it
Absolutely loved this short, and the cherry on top was hearing that OG audio of cliff Edward's Jiminy Cricket singing the iconic song
I loved that part and hearing other characters sing THE Disney song felt so special
Disney had pretty much cut their entire traditional/tradigital animation staff, unfortunately, and to make this, they actually had to bring in new traditional/tradigital animators, who then had to learn the models, and try to animate. So, they don't look particularly on model, because the people they had working on them hadn't been working on them almost their whole lives. I'd have loved them to get Glen Keane as the primary animator for HIS characters (Ariel, Tarzan, Pocahontas, etc.), and just had people inbetween his work.
Makes sense that tinkerbell was the first one after Mickey since she’s the other face of Disney (plus she was part of the Disney fastplay on dvds)
This is very heartwarming and fully displays the magic of Disney

the bear and the man are from two 50s shorts. And I like fact that Cinderella went back to her origional design
the bear is named Humphrey, and the man is named Ranger Woodlore

I saw it for the first time last night and I got so emotional 😭 it's sad to see the fall from grace Disney is having now its sad bc they used to be amazing ❤ it's a bitter sweet short 😔

More people should’ve been emotional about Oswald and Mickey being together.

I would LOVE that! I need to hear Lightning McQueen kachow and other characters reaction to it

Also, if we, the viewer were our own character in this, no doubt we'd be the one person doing the after hours shift,
helping mickey get everybody ready, and leading the ORIGINAL Disney song to get everyone's hopes back up!

Now if only this short included a certain spiky haired kid with a giant key serving as a sort of Disney security guard (a la Night at the Museum) holding a checklist keeping track of each character present for the group photo.

5:48 the blue creature is Splat from Disney’s Strange World. It is a recent film which unfortunately bombed the box office.
(The blue creature following Ursula is from Strange World, a disney film starring a gay protagonist. It unfortunately did very poorly due to lack of advertisement)

I too got emotional when Mickey was looking up at Walt Disney. That moment made me emotional. I got the POP of Walt Disney holding the sketch of Mickey Mouse. My favorite Disney film is Aladdin, my favorite princess character is also Moana, it was Merida from Brave, but now is Moana. My FAVORITE character is the one who started it all, Mickey Mouse! If you haven’t seen it, you should react to Treasure Planet, that movie is also underrated.

I'm sure that movie is from a different studio that Disney only distributed.
Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory could have worked in this short. Wish Upon A Star is ok but Pure Imagination would work a lot better because when Walt Disney was a kid and now as an adult he used his imagination to make theses movies, TV shows and theme parks come to life. It would have been the perfect song to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company.
OK, but it’s still Tinker Bell. Version of Tinker Bell made by Disney is the same Tinker Bell. Peter Pan’s Tinker Bell is the same Tinker Bell from the Tinker Bell movies. I don’t know what you mean by not that tinker Bell 10:26-10:56
