This is how the story went I met someone by accident It blew me away Blew me away It was in the darkest of my days When you took my sorrow and you took my pain And buried them away, you buried them away I wish I could lay down beside you When the day is done And wake up to your face against the morning sun But like everything I've ever known You disappear one day So I spend my whole life hiding my heart away Dropped you off at the train station Put a kiss on top of your head Watch you wave And watched you wave Then I went on home to my skyscrapers And neon lights and waiting papers That I call home I call that home I wish I could lay down beside you When the day is done And wake up to your face against the morning sun But like everything I've ever known You disappear one day So I spend my whole life hiding my heart away, away Woke up feeling heavy-hearted I'm going back to where I started The morning rain, the morning rain And though I wish that you were here On that same old road that brought me here It's calling me home, It's calling me home I wish I could lay down beside you When the day is done And wake up to your face against the morning sun But like everything I've ever known You disappear one day So I spend my whole life hiding my heart away I can't spend my whole life hiding my heart away
not brandi's best version of this song. but i still like it better than adele's version. and that is coming from someone who really likes adele. i like the cello in it and the harmonizing of her band members. not sure which one but one of the twins wrote the song. that whole album is just incredible as well. her best known song the story is also on it
sometimes in live shows artists have to go with other people's time lines and will do a song slightly faster than normal so that they can keep it in the set. I suspect that's what's happened here. I have no problem with it tho. She sounds like she means everything she sings
Alondra Sanchez that version was actually done by Brandi in the album “the story” it was hidden in the end of song so no one ever really paid attention to it
What each version brings is so different that the song almost has two different meanings. While I prefer Brandi’s I just heard the Adele cover and it was fantastic!
You guys don’t understand, how hard it is to write a song, all Adele did was sing it a little better. But writing and composing something like this, Brandi Caril is as talented as someone can ever be. She did same with bob Dylan’s make you feel my love.
Anyways if you listen it the song in the album the story, Adele just copied everything from that version, and that version might just be better than Adele’s
I love Adele's version but to me this has a lot more depth to it given Brandi's difficult coming out story. "Hiding my Heart" means a lot more to me in that context.
Wow... I thought this was an Adele original all this time. Yep, Adele's version is better in my opinion, but I do REALLY enjoy their vocal harmony during the chorus.
It is, as Brandi said, an Adele song, but i love Brandi's cover of her own song. And i like Adele's "song", but not as much, she even misinterprets the lyrics a bit. Adele has a great voice, but Brandi is a much better writer and a better singer, as well. Adele has a powerful voice, perhaps too much powerful for me, and has longer notes, at the end of the words, that i don't like much. I like Adele's voice, but it is not my favorite, not even close.
diva . like whats her face before her i can only handle tiny tiny doses of those strong virtuoso diva types in my pop music... I will say Adele sang one of the best James Bond theme songs ever otherwise i know very little about her...
@@julesotis13 I think Adele seems like a nice person but I'm really not a fan of her over-wrought diva singing. It's all too strained & slow. Brandi always seems like it's hardly any effort at all to make the incredible vocals she does and like she's telling you a story on her porch with the kids & the dog hanging around. I love this talented lady so much.
This is how the story went
I met someone by accident
It blew me away
Blew me away
It was in the darkest of my days
When you took my sorrow and you took my pain
And buried them away, you buried them away
I wish I could lay down beside you
When the day is done
And wake up to your face against the morning sun
But like everything I've ever known
You disappear one day
So I spend my whole life hiding my heart away
Dropped you off at the train station
Put a kiss on top of your head
Watch you wave
And watched you wave
Then I went on home to my skyscrapers
And neon lights and waiting papers
That I call home
I call that home
I wish I could lay down beside you
When the day is done
And wake up to your face against the morning sun
But like everything I've ever known
You disappear one day
So I spend my whole life hiding my heart away, away
Woke up feeling heavy-hearted
I'm going back to where I started
The morning rain, the morning rain
And though I wish that you were here
On that same old road that brought me here
It's calling me home, It's calling me home
I wish I could lay down beside you
When the day is done
And wake up to your face against the morning sun
But like everything I've ever known
You disappear one day
So I spend my whole life hiding my heart away
I can't spend my whole life hiding my heart away
This can be an ending song from a movie. I love the vibe the song is giving me.
It’s in so many tv shows pretty little liars season one anyway that’s how I found this
Great video. Thanks for capturing it. It's like being there.
What's the name of second song
4:00 Brandi has a fever, and the only prescription is more . . .
😍
❤
💞🎶💙🌾
I don't know if she was complimenting Adele or just being passive aggressive. Btw, does anyone know what's the song at the end?
Dying Day is the song at the very end that was cut off.
I got the same feeling
what's the song at the end if this video
Im two years late into your question 😂 but its “Dying day”
i like this song....but my opinion is you sang it quite fast...i can't fell the meaning

check out her live version @ the orpheum in L.A. or the one from toronto.

I like Adele's cover a bit better just because it's slower and sounds like it has more meaning.

Music and comedy ? huh ?
AB GPM Adele jokes throughout her shows and tells stories. She’s very funny actually.
try speed 0.75 thank me later
Much better
The reason I am listening to Brandi is because of Adele's cover, which I'm sorry to say, is better.
Me too 😅😅

And if you still doubt her, go listen to story by Brandi carile you’ll know what I am talking about

It’s way better than Adele’s version!!
Dont b that bitter

João Guerreiro she was being sarcastic looool. This song is originally written and performed by Brandi :)

That moment when someone covers your song and does way better...
Fishy still thinks Brandi’s version sounds better, it has a folk country feel in it, try listening the album version
