Your remark about everyone thinking that the current time is the most enlightened reminds me both of an old story I can just barely remember, concerning discussion with a revived Egyptian mummy, and a TV news piece from Scranton. The latter was part of their "On the Pennsylvania Road" series and the journalist likes to wax philosophical. When a sewer break revealed a main from early in the city's history he opined, "someday people will look at our modern infrastructure and wonder how such a primitive system could have ever functioned."
I did! I was born in 1961, and really got completely fascinated by a movie that featured Chariots of the Gods theories, etc., and was a lifelong reader of weird outer space ideas, paranormal phenomena and other ideas. When I discovered the books of Charles Fort I really went to town!
About the Himyarite kingdom persecution of Orthodox Christians that led Miaphysite Aksum (at the request of Orthodox Constantinople) to conquer much of SW Arabia, the Himyarite king was a zealous Jew. This shows how Arabia was a big mixture at the time, with different Pagan gods, tribes of Jews of different heterodoxy types, various Christians tribes all mixed together, and some Persian Zoroastrian tribes in the east - just a generation before Mohammed was born!

@@neilstiener5553 You're correct, almost. The original name of the tribe was Fukawees, then a network censor forced them to change it and the producers choose your answer. BTW, there were no real Native Americans in the tribe. They were all Jewish actors. Some you would recognize if they weren't in costume and if you like old westerns since most of them had varied backgrounds and we're often supporting actors.

@@raychang8648 You're most welcome. A live stream, by the way, is when a RUclipsr broadcasts a video "live", in other words the video is being shown on RUclips at the same time it is being recorded. You can make comments in a chat section while the video is streaming (displaying) but can't make "regular" comments until the live stream has finished and the RUclipsr has posted the recorded video on the channel. I disagree. RUclips is home for so many creators, including The History Guy, and it’s where most of their audience is. Thank you for featuring Aksum. It was one of the great African kingdoms most are ignorant of.
I have been listening to every video from the history guy for years. Just realized that he lives less than an hour away from me.
My wife's family is from the Yucatan. Fascinating history.
History is history. No matter how you listen to it.
I love the podcasts. The length let's me just listen while I do yardwork or other things.

The loss of the codex' ranks with the burning of the library at Alexandria as the worst loss of human history.

They do their pod cast w/o video once a week, usually Tuesday and on those days they have History Guy jr. Introduce the story.
