Just watched this yesterday 🥲
Just wrapped up the Arnold series on Netflix.
You mentioned potentially being able to squeeze into an xxl - are you saying those are xxxl? I recall you stating in past videos that you could fit into small stoics so I’m just trying to get a sense of how these compare. Thanks!
Sorry, these are XL, meant to say I could prob use a XXL and still get a good fit.
@@BasementBrandon what is your knee measurement?
@@scott.fetter Little over 15"
Love these discussions....BTW rocky 3 quote (in his old gym trying to get rocky to wake up), 4 is where Apollo gets killed
Confused by all 6 😝
@@BasementBrandon I am still mad they left rocky out of Apollo 3
@@NoFate247 you mean Creed 3 ;)
@@ZGBurk that's it!!! Duh!
Whats your opinion on pioneer vs inzers to help pickup more weight (our legs look the sameish)
They're similar at the end of the day. The big thing to determine is if you want a consistent taper (cone) like the pioneer, or a more ergo fit like the inzer.
Im just amazed you have remained injury free after all these years. As I turn 40 I feel like everybody I know is dealing with something
I'm more likely to get hurt emptying the dishwasher than lifting at this point lol.
@BasementBrandon Haha...Yes, taking the garbage can to the curb seems like a high risk activity nowadays
Great honesty. It is hard to push through sometime. Cool to see what helps you.
Whatever it takes 😅
Pioneers vs a7 rigors ?
I find the pioneers to be more stiff and dense, but both good options.
I enjoyed the discussion and also have to battle the mental aspect of big lifts. I have “business as usual” on my pioneer phantoms, and it helps ground me for a hard set of squats or bench when I use them for that. I also more simply tell myself “don’t be a hoe” when I start getting nervous. Works pretty well lol. Great stuff Brandon!
Haha love it
Rocky 3!!!
Somewhere Clubber Lang is looking for me.
There is no tomorrow is sort of the way I looked at things in life. I always believed in practice how you would play/perform/compete as another...meaning if you got dinged because of rules I would add those rules into my training if I could in some way. Always following always living through you strong guys...LOL👊
Appreciate ya man!
Brandon i haven’t watched a video in over a year sorry my dude but i hope you’re doing well. Remember when you were friends with Maxx Chewning haha that must be ages ago. Hope your kid is doing great as well!
Appreciate you checking in brother.
Forearms looking pumped and vascular. Do anything special for them?
Played too much Nintendo as a kid.
Do you find these better than A7 Rigor Mortis? A7 is also giving me some gap at the bottom like Inzer Ergo Pro.
Yes I prefer the pioneer
Pioneer sleeves or village hidden in iron pro sleeves. Torn as they’re only a 10 dollar difference after tax n shipping. Also just train heavy no meets or anything. Awesome vid thank you!
I have not used the VHII sleeves, but out of all the stiff sleeves I've owned (most of them), the Pioneers have become my preferred.
how would you say the pioneers stack against the stoic knee sleeves? wondering if i should wait for the pioneers or just shoot my shot with the stoics
The current stoics are what I would consider "last" gen. Compared to other last gen sleeves they're still my favorite as they seem to be denser than the competition. The Pioneers are the "new" gen, meaning extremely stiff and dense. If you're looking for as much support as possible the Pioneers would offer more due to materials/construction.
Look good -> feel good
Feel good -> play good
Play good -> pay good
Also I remember hearing someone say “before I go to the gym I ask myself, do I see myself setting a PR in this outfit?” Lol It’s true!
Hell yeah!
Did you size down on the pioneer knee sleeves? The size guide says I’m a XXL but I wear a small inzer ergo pro
Nope, I sized according to the chart! I don't like to compare stiff sleeves b/c the sizing is all over the place.
Awesome effort in that opening squat session! But please, just walk forward until the bar hits the uprights then lower it into the j-hooks. Looking to the side when putting the bar back is gonna get you hurt! Coming from a place of love and brotherhood,
Noted!
Rocky III has other better qoutes in general too "Prediction? Pain!"
Mr. T is a bad man.
There is no tomorrow is Rocky III, bro. Good job on that squat set. Mind your depth.
Forgive me father for I have sinned.
Great to see more talk on the mental side of lifting. What we bring to the gym dictates a lot about how we will perform.
On the equipment side of things, I’m still getting used to see your rack with no lever arms. They were a permanent fixture for so long.
It's been so liberating getting rid of those arms. I'm slowly shedding some of the stuff that gets no use in the gym... to of course fund other things for the gym 🤪
Have you tried the stoic purple? I haven’t heard that there was a spec change, but I got a pair and they are heavier than my other stoics, thicker and stiffer feeling.
I haven't, but have found in general my Stoics run heavier than most "normal" sleeves.
Bro, your arms are looking jacked. I know your video isnt on that haha but it definitely stood out hahah
Smaller shirts FTW
Buried those squats! Gluck would be all about the black and red colour scheme 🙂
Fake news, he doesn't squat!
They sent me 3xl. I still cant get them on lol. I wear L stoics easily.
So I can get in a small stoic and have found that in the Pioneer I wear XL
Rocky 3.
I thought it was the pre Drago training, but it was Clubber. I have sinned.
Another great video man.. Squats are fire man.. You are gonna kill it at the next comp!!
🤞
Keep grinding, old man! You are an inspiration for a lot of people. I like the light idea. That's pretty cool.
Your barbell collection is going to challenge mine soon
@@BasementBrandon I kind of cheated by ordering 19 bars in the last two weeks. 😅
Brandon, what size do you wear in the Cerberus?
2XL
When do these come out ? And which are better, these or the Cerberus
I believe this month. I've been wearing the pioneer more. Price point is better, seem to be a bit more dense, and believe the cerberus have to be redone due to some legality issues with a patent. But both are great.
Hey Brandon, when are the sleeves releasing?
I believe end of next month according to Matt.
How do you use the data from your bar speed tracker?
I don't get too into it. I just know some rough numbers for speed based off how difficult the rep was. I have the tendency to rate everything high, so when I combine watching the lift back on video, and the velocity data, it can give me a better idea if I was accurate or not.

Wait so are these better than the ergo pros ?
So this is going to depend on your leg shape. The ergo pros don't fit me well due to the flare on the bottom. Also seems to be some QC issues on them from what I hear. Many have said theirs have ripped and the newer ones aren't as stiff. I haven't had any of those issues on mine however.
I never got the Inzers because of how they looked so I feel you haha.
The look has def grown on me for those.
@@BasementBrandon I agree. Because they’re so ubiquitous at this point I no longer see them as ugly. But I’m too much of a contrarian to concede and buy them lol
Great video. How do the Pioneer's compare to the Stoic sleeves?
Stoic has not yet released their stiff sleeves. If you want to compare to the current Stoics these Pioneer are almost 3x as dense.
@@BasementBrandon how about the sizing of the pioneers compared to the current stoics?
@@ranillorodriguez6807 I would recommend using the sizing chart when buying. In this case I can fit in a Small Stoic, but barely fit in a XL Pioneer.
First comment for the algo!
Checking in
Gotta have a headband when you’re bald. I always wear one, no hair there to stop the sweat coming off your head!
That's what I'm sayin! No one seems to get it lol.
@BasementBrandon Is the tracker you use just a phone app? The RepSpeed Bar Velocity Tracker?
@@larryperchick5399 There's a standalone tethered unit which then sends data to a phone app.
@@BasementBrandon Thanks!
I love Pioneer but I have to know what you think of these compared to the Inzer ergo pro.
Not trying to be that guy. But sternum up and lats tight... might move easier
So my biggest issues with the inzer is the shape and my legs. The bottoms flare out, which causes gapping for me when I'm in the hole. Over a few reps, this causes them to silde down. A tapered shape, like pioneer, stay on my leg better and allow for a better fit.
Looking STRONG 💪
Need to keep up with you
