We have got a porch awning and each time we put it up the sides near to the van always flap. When we went to waudbys caravan shop, they told us to peg the sides down near to side of van first. Then peg the rest of the awning out, so next time we use it will do that first. We ended up taking it down last time at east in the wind and rain as it kept us awake all night flapping. Xx

I've just remembered someone told me about some suckers called limpits that you can also use with your awning sides to attach to the van. Xx

When I saw you first showing the slicer / grater I said there's a accident waiting to happen, as I stopped my partner buying one for the very same reason, they are lethal.
