Don't know if you're still working on this but I bet you're losing some power due to slippage in the centrifugal clutch due to the high torque load. IDK which one you have on but a standard 3/4" centrifugal clutch will burn out if the pads don't stay in contact with the drum. A trick some go kart racers do is cut the clutch pads in half so you increase the amount of engagement of pad surface to the drum. You can also play with the spring force to get engagement at whatever starting RPM you want. Most are set to 1800 rpm, try going up to something higher. Another quick tip is to remove one loop in the spring, make a new hook end and reconnect. The reason you want to do this is to prevent the clutch pads from opening too early and burning out if the driven mechanism requires a higher torque. If you don't want to do that, try a Hilliard clutch or any of the other racing clutches that will give you higher RPM engagement, better drum engagement, and a multitude of sprocket opens to fine tune your gear ratios. Side note, run a standard stage 1 kit plus upgrade to a billet flywheel and connecting rod. You'll be able to push to 6k+RPMs all day and get to 15-20hp.
I like the reduction now compared to the direct drive approach,from the last video. What's it gonna take? More rpm, better gear ratio to get the engine in the power band? Centrifugal clutch would do it
Yes, I have been struggling with carbourettor settings for a long time and have tried different carbs. I think this would have plenty of power if someone were to take more time in tuning it

Thanks Tim. Just to clarify, I was getting a bit fed up of changing jets etc on the Bailey carb so I had recently put on a Walbro with the hope it would be much easier to dial in the mixutre. Not sure it worked properly and most comments online were that the internal pump doesn't really work with a 4 stroke engine
Good effort, at least someone is giving it a bash. Maybe a motorcycle engine. They have good power to weight, just that they are so integrated with an unnecessary gearbox I suppose.

Yes depends a lot on your wing and pilot weight. I am not a lightweight pilot and need about 16hp at a minumum I would estimate. Lighter pilots use 80cc engines like the Top 80 or Atom 80 and fly just fine.
This has me a bit worried for your safety. That prop is not turning nearly fast enough to get you securely airborne. Fly safe. In the words of Scotty, "I'm givin' it all she's got Cap'n, we need more power!!!"
I see you have a further reduction from the other video you posted today. What kind of overall reduction and thrust are you getting now? The top 80 motors make 16 horsepower, and they are more than enough to get people in the air
I started yet another build using a Gx270 with 2:1 reduction that you can buy off the shelf to save time. It is very heavy but with a few mods produces 18hp. However, both are now up for sale as have moved onto another paramotor

Try propeller 90 cm with pitch 11.5 degrees without rpm reduction.

Thankyou it's very close and I think the latest carb was a small backwards step. All up for sale now, I've had my fun and got a nitro 200 paramotor

@@smad333 I'm just about done with my build, what propeller did you use? I have a moster prop, but its far too big
@@TannerMotorcycles I used a moster 185, 1.3m prop. A big propeller is much more efficient than a small one...
