Which shoe feature was most helpful to know about? Or do you have any other tips to share!? Also, to access the Ultimate Guide to Running without Achilles Pain you can check out more training videos on this topic! learn.sparkhealthyrunner.com/achilles
Unfortunately I don’t as I don’t have any trail shoes but the same 4 principles apply so I would try and see if you can find padded and more flexible heel counters (though this is rare as trail shoes are more firm to protect from rocks and roots)
Hey Duane-thanks for making content for mid-life runners! I’m a mid-40’s dad who runs a couple slow ultras a year to keep myself sane. Any thoughts on cushioning firmness for AT and PF? I’m “managing” both and I think it’s better with a firmer shoe like the Brooks adrenaline.
Really depends on your foot type but it sounds like you have found it more helpful with increased firmness. Be sure to check out this resource for PF as well 👊🏼 learn.sparkhealthyrunner.com/footpain
Hi Duane thanks so much for this video, what do you think about the Altras Experience (flow and wild) with a 4 mm drop.. I bought both and I definitely feel a little nagging pain that doesn't want to go away..I ran a few weeks in the zero drop and I developed a bad tendonitis on the left ankle, that has now healed but the right one is lingering I run around 45/50 miles per week Thanks again
I haven’t tried them yet but intrigued!! The fact that they are a 4mm drop would be helpful for your symptoms but you may not be ready for that drop yet without proper strengthening the calf consistently. When you do try then you would also use for 1-2 runs out of the week and a higher heel drop for the other runs 👊🏼
Thanks so much for your response 😊 I just bought another pair with a 9 mm drop and will start using those more frequently before putting more miles on the 4mm!! Thanks so much for the great content!!

Great video! Any recommendations for those of that trail run/long hikes with insertional tendinitis. Thanks.

My achilles tendon pain started when I was running in Ghost 15.
@@esra23082008 in that case it probably wasn’t related to the shoe and most likely physical or training related factors.
