Another great review as always David. What always baffles me about other magicians reviewing Tenyo effects is that they often fail to appreciate that Tenyo are a toy company first and foremost. Nothing else. Their tricks are pocket money effects that are cheap and affordable to kids in Japan and are nearly always sold in toy shops. They are manufactured as plastic to keep manufacturing costs down so kids and the like can afford them. Tenyo ultimately don’t care about the professional magician who ultimately are the only ones who often criticise their effects because of the plastic design and the simple nature of the effect. The mobile phone bite trick is a good example. A simple little trick that a kid in school wouldn’t hesitate to perform to his friends. Let’s just accept that they are magical toys for kids and not magicians.
Always appreciate your honest reviews David. I was not able to get mine to work reliably either. I would estimate mine worked about 75% of the time. Not nearly enough to perform with confidence.
I'm like that with Tenyo also. It's either hit or miss. Thank goodness for your reviews David. You tell it like it is my friend. Also the really amazing Tenyo tricks sell out to collectors, or go for obscene prices on the net. I can't afford obscene! LOL!
My experience: The effect worked well, the gimmick's longevity is poor due to the precise nature of the 'gimmick'. *The size is reduced over time. There is also a noise element when getting out clean. I'd give it a 7/10 mainly due to tweaking needed over time. Plus I live in Japan so only cost me $7
You're right , it didn't work for me neither , especially the foam part that doesn't work properly, I give up till I find a better solution as the other magicians did , it must be a better way to improve the gimmick.
another Tenyo miss 😳 I purchased Tenyo’s “Flash Dice” and couldn’t get to work either … wish I would had researched further! thanks for your honest review David 👍🏻👍🏻 have a super 🏈 Sunday
This is just like David said - I love "Flash Dice" . I've had to do some explaining of the box, but my D&D group is convinced I'm using loaded dice. I scared the group by calling them "Fireball Dice".
Hi David, you usually have a list of question you ask/answer in your reveries. I think you forgot to cover them, like is the prop examinable? Or pocket space....
Not for me, in the bin went the box, kept the dice. My favourite Tenyo trick is 4D Surprise from 2011. Now worth a load of notes as it is discontinued.
@@westonding8953 I am not a magician, nor do I own this dice hopper trick! However, after watching the guy do a demo on Penguin magic, I picked up on something he said at the end of the demo, that could help someone start to break down this trick! His words were, that the trick could be done by placing the last die in your pocket. That being true, I would say that there are more than 1 dice used to perform this trick. More clues, by others doing a demo of this trick, hinted not only the box, but also the lid come into play. That being said, I believe one die is being picked up, and not actually "jumping" per sey, but rather ,"REPLACED" would be a better word! David has said there a no magnets, and I believe that to be true, as that would make noise. However, in the demo I saw, there was a small click with one of the dice, however, it was probably one dropping from the lid hitting one already in the tray! Just my theory, and since I do NOT own this trick, I can only speculate. 😁
If anyone has video instructions for this game, I would appreciate it if you could contact me, I have the written instructions, but I don't understand a thing.

oh but magicians LOVE to collect them
These kinds of reviews are helpful because this is something I would buy for fun and then be disappointed that I wasted my money on it.
that's exactly what happened to me

word
Thanks David for your open and honest review...

I could never figure it out
My issue with Tenyo is that it looks like toys. Beautiful prop is part of the magic...
you se tenyo to get your grankids feet wet for your tutelage years to come. good idea, for my old azz eh. cheers
By the looks of the trick it’s probably a dodgy ones you’ve got dice hopper < keep the dice 🎲 though so many magic routines you can do them
hmmm
another Tenyo miss 😳

prop is not examinable and is too big for your pocket

LOL
i saw they have a new line out magical burger, sushi and some others
wha?
Cute trick.😊
it looks cool
Cool
:D
I am guessing there is a magnet involved in the lid.
nope - that would have made noise
@@magicorthodoxy some sort of latch?
maybe u can test drive some of them for us
maybe
Did you ask them what possibly went wrong with your gimmick?
I have butter fingers
@@magicorthodoxy Is it related to suction then? Is there an issue with something that holds a dice? Maybe it’s temperature.

I also review tricks I don't like ... it happens.... sometimes

I had to watch the trailer
