How do they stick together so easily? When I try, I just end up squishing and squashing :(
They use expensive supplies
glue, toothpicks, theres lots of ways to prevent squishing.
As a sculptor I think you use toothpick or wire. If your using more traditional and pricey clay use a butter knife, make scratches were you will connect the pieces, dip your finger in water, spreed it over the scrapes, and connect them it will give you a better stick.

To me the hardest part would be getting the colors EXACTLY right like you do. Plus sizing everything to scale. This is amazing to watch

Try to practice using water color. I used water color and for me I can copy the exact color easily I know exacly what color should combine. I think it will work in clay too.

The type of clay helps a lot but so does keeping your fingers moist and letting bits dry.

@@samehoney9569 That’s another good guess. Probably a combination of toothpicks and glue for the smaller parts.
Also it is air dry wet clay so it sticks at first very well and then solidifies after some time.
i used to watch these as a little kid and i got clay cuz i was like "oh i can do that easy" and i tried ONE and it was AWFUL, this is beautiful though!
