Thank you for this, man. I've recently switched friend groups and realized how I was toning myself down because the kids were also trying to be "cool" (I thought they were back then too). Even with the new people that I fw better and can be more open about, I still have the habit of toning myself down. Even with classmates, I try to appear to them as what they think "cool" will be.
