Six is slowly loosing it's sense of individuality, mainly because of broadway. We're losing alternate costumes, and filming the megasix. The Bliss 2.0 cast isn't allowed to be filmed because of new costumes, and they're getting rid of alt costumes for no reason. So it's clearly more than just broadway. If six doesn't listen to it's fans, it won't be on broadway for more than 2 years and will slowly be forgotten.
I feel this a lot. I also find that the costumes are really stiff and my first thought was Maddie Hatter in the Wonderland arc of Ever After High (I cosplay and getting the coat to move that way was a big thing lol) It makes it feel less real to me.
Unfortunately, it’s not really up to them. It’s the union that made those decisions. They really tried to have the megasix be filmed but the union won’t let it happen. The alternate costumes is also something the union took away. So the SIX team can’t really do anything about it.
I like Boleyn and Cleves' new costumes better, but the rest just didn't cut it. I don't get why they had to flare out Aragon's peplum, why they made Howard's skirt flimsier, and Seymour's costume overall I don't understand.
@@crystalmike17 honestly, I've grown to tolerate the new Araggon costume, and I like Howard's new costume. I don't know what I was thinking when I said I didn't understand Seymour's updated costume, because now it's probably my favourite costume design in maybe all of theatre.
Im late but its because of the Union rules, if Im not wrong, they thing that if one song is recorded, then people would rather to watch it at home and listen to the other pre-recorded songs instead of watching the full musical. This doesnt depend of Toby’s or Lucy’s opinion, it depends of Broadway’s opinion (Im not very sure if this information is correct, and pardon my english, Im not from USA)
i like the energy i do, but i just dont like the concept of this musical. im not a fan of Hamilton either. I feel as if, it's too trendable. As in things done in this will very well not be sustainable in the well future. Im not a fan of concept musicals either. There really is no plot to this musical in which i find boring because there was a lot of potential. Good for young girls but not for someone like me who's trying to find more than this. I am biased because i am very into historical theater and history and general. I just feel this is a waste of potential and the costumes look cheap, sorry not sorry. cats had a more cohesive storyline than this...
There is a plot though? The six wives of Henry the eighth are on a concert tour and have a contest to see who the audience picks as a favorite. The contest is only fair if it's judged on something they have in common, so they choose who had the worst treatment from Henry. They soon realize that they shouldn't compare themselves and instead rewrite their stories in a song. After their bows they have an encore remix of their solo songs. I don't care if you don't like the musical but I do care if you tell me that there is no plot because there clearly is.

You have every right to dislike this musical, but some of these criticisms are invalid. 1) There is definitely a plot, explained above. The plot might have less action than, say, Beetlejuice or Heathers, but there most certainly is a plot, and having less action doesn't make it less cohesive. I think that the ending was actually very cohesive, though that's my own opinion. The end of "I don't need your love" where they all come together ties together the central message, which is that they can have personalities and stories outside of the fact that they married the king. "Six" also ties it together by giving examples of what they can do and who they can be beyond/without their marriage to the king. 2) First of all, the quality of this video is questionable at best, even though it's listed as HD. You cannot base your judgment on the costumes in this video because this is not the best quality video. Second, as the comment above states, it is abundantly clear that a lot of time and effort went into these costumes. They're bright and edgy and fierce.
