- Ep. 26 - Seurat's "Circus Sideshow"
Today we're diving back into the art world with a brand new video discussing the history and science behind Neo-Impressionist pioneer George Seurat's most mysterious work (and one of my favorite paintings) "Parade de Cirque", or "Circus Sideshow".
Making this video was a huge eye-opening, learning experience for me, as I'd never really paid much attention to the Impressionists before this, preferring to stay firmly in my comfort zone of American landscape and Dutch Golden Age. What are some of your favorite Impressionist works? Leave them in the comments below, and don't forget to subscribe to stay up to date on all things Bookworm History!

And, as always, thanks for stopping by!
Learned more about art in 10 minutes than I have in the last 10 years. I appreciate how you brought in color theory to your analysis. It’s always about balance. I have obsessed with balance all of my life and make a living by creating balance. Buying Modern Chromatics this instant.
A true masterpiece.
Thank you!!
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you liked it!
I absolutely love your videos. You are such a crafted historian and researcher. You present your findings so seamlessly as if you are storytelling. You are so talented. Thank you for the time and thoughtfulness put into your presentations - I learn so much.
Thank you so much for all of your kind words! I'm so glad you enjoyed my work and were able to get something out of them, I really appreciate your letting me know!
This is great. I am sad there aren't more lectures about the circus paintings from that Met exhibit.
I was, too! It was a great exhibition, but there's only the one lecture online, and I'm pretty sure it's the only one the had about it.
quote at the end by David Sutter? I don't find anything on him on the web
