My family visited family in Harlan in the mid 60’s my pops told us he was our uncle Jesse. Last name I’m not sure of, maybe McAllister. They lived up on a mountain side. My brother and I walked to the store close to the house and young teens didn’t wear clothes lots of garbage thrown in the river off the bridge hi above. Many tobacco fields in peoples yards. Roads lined with junk cars. I sure wish I could go back. Just have no idea how to get back
