Got to admire TM's PR machine since his leaving his term of office. Built on the foundation of a solid reputation, as well as driven by his unabiding Pan Africanism and intellectual fortitude, the President, his foundation and the national university continue to engage in the groundwork to preserve and curate Africa's finest legacies as well as shaping its future. In decades to come we could see some of the continent's (and indeed the world's) sharpest and most able shape a future our ancestors could never dream of. All hands on deck, lets work!💪🏾
Zizi.., is underrated. Even in his later years, he makes time teach, develop, and mentor young men and women. So far, no other leader has done so much.
Following from Dududu (at Umkomaas) under Vulamehlo/uMdoni local municipality under Ugu district. I am always fascinated on how President Mbeki knows Afrika, from Cape to Cairo, but so is Rutendo Matinyarare, who has almost completely different view. I'd love to hear both of them someday engaging about Afrika in a factual debating way, agreeing on common grounds and agreeing to disagree where they don't believe that is the case. Someone like Given Mkhari can facilitate the "debate"
Very wise indeed, but those talks did not and is unlikely to change poverty and high levels of inequality in our country. Talk is one thing and action is another.
Former President Thabo Mbeki is uniquely committed to imparting leadership principles and transformative reforms to emerging leaders, both within South Africa and internationally, through his postgraduate program. Even in his later years, he remains deeply engaged in academic development, peace negotiations, and delivering annual lectures. Mbeki is an intellectual, a problem solver, and a dedicated patriot of our nation, consistently exceeding expectations. To date, no other former president rivals his contributions-he truly stands out as the best. Ask him about any issues of governance, international affairs, sustainable energy, equity and inequality, women's rights, health and education, food security structural failures, unemployment..., he can go all day and ask for more. The death of Anc started by you Mbeki . You remember when you made unprecedented decision by seeking 3rd term as Anc president. Anc was divided into 2 because of your selfishness. Today, you go around like headless chicken parading yourself as a voice of reason and saviour of the Anc. You were defeated and you jumped with your friends and established Cope and hides behind your mother who was a staunch member of Cope. 10 years later you are actively involved in the affairs of Anc that is so rich of you. History will judge you one day.
But south africa is disrespecting the rights of Lesotho people, once they ovestay their visit in south africa they get fined from entering south africa for 5 years which means they won't go to any country around the world
There is a gentleman who spoke to Mbeki about what has changed in the economy of SA, I think he spoke without research and actually knowledge when he said Under Mbeki, South African economy was bigger than Nigeria, Egypt and Kenya Combined that's not true, Nigeria economy was USD361 Billion and South Africa was USD361 billion and Kenya USD35 billion and Egypt USD160 billion, in giving credit to Mbeki people must not exaggerate, It's very important to say that the SA economy grew at 6 percent and was stable during Mbeki but it was not bigger than Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya combined intact Nigeria economy was bigger than South Africa alone and that's when Nigeria became known as the biggest economy in Africa and when guy said University of Port Elizabeth I understood him very well people who just talk things they know nothing about.
I attended this event in person but yet here am I playing and replaying it online. Because it deserves time and attention.
I'm glad I attended this event in person, to soak it all in. I'm truly inspired. 🎉❤
I wish more Africans watched this. I'm From Zambia and I can tell you we must learn as citizens of Africa.
Just the clarity of his vision. I wish each African country had a Thabo Mbeki
Africa’s greatest son
