Did a similar trip (roughly 900 ish miles) with my Trident but stayed in an airbnb! Had a massive tail bag that barely fit, no windscreen (surprisingly didn't need it), and packed enough supplies for the weekend in the tail bag. No issues aside from hot Southern California weather! The Trident is super capable and so well rounded
Subscribed. Would love to see more Trident / Motocamping! Have had the Trident for a few months now, put 7k miles on it. I am trying to start motocamping.
Thanks! That was a frustrating trip as the rest of the footage from it was unusable. I now have a T100 instead of a Trident. But I’d love to do more camping videos.
I have a deposit down for a Trident, I'm excited to actually pick up the bike. I have been looking into mounting systems for side bags and I have seen the Givi system and that looks promising however they seem to be currently out of stock or not available yet. Still trying to figure what I would like to get for the bike since I would like to do some solo camping with it.
I’m very tempted by this setup. I like how it can be uninstalled with four bolts. www.motomachines.com/hepco-becker-cbow-carrrier-triumph-trident-660-2021
@@jrobrides1340 I have seen those ones as well. I do like that they look easier to remove if you only want them for trips. I still debating between but I have a while before I’ll get any.
A few years back, I did a 2000 mile round trip over the course of 10 days from NYC with a buddy and doing motorcycle camping along the way. Your trip reminded me of that. I ride a 2013 Triumph Street Triple R. 675 cc, similar to the 660 Trident. Great bike but my butt was sore everyday after 300 mile/day riding.
@@jrobrides1340 I forgot to mention that our trip was to the tail of the dragon. We stayed at the last campsite 2 days so we can spend one day just driving the tail.
Hi, great video. I just installed the MRA wind screen and it's actually really good. It looks good to. A lot wider and taller aswell. There is a RUclips video of it on a trident and worth a look.
Been watching some of your stuff bro, because I am on the fence about getting a Trident or rnineT I want both to be honest haha, someone who really inspired me to go out and do moto camping was c90 adventures, I like people like him because they do videos for the true love of exploring and not creating content just to plug in all your sponsors to see how much money you can make of your content. Side note in today's motorcycle market people are too caught up & worried about what bike can "do it all" no bike can, spend money and buy for each specific category if that's your worries, ever since I saw Matias Corea, and Joel Estopa hop on 2 R80 GS and ride from NY to Argentina it all made sense that if you wanna do whatever kind of touring on any bike no one can say it is not possible, it all just depends on your ability, health, fitness, persiverance and adventurous spirit to make it happen.
Thanks for watching. Trident vs RNineT... that's a tough choice. The Trident is practical and fun, but the BMW is a work of art. Thanks for reminding me about c90 adventures. I haven't watched him in awhile. You can definitely tour on anything. Part of the fun of my trip on the Street Twin or even this trip on the Trident was that neither bike was a "touring" bike, and it's fun to color outside the lines. I agree that it's hard to find a bike that can "do it all". You'll eventually be disappointed by expecting too much. I think that instead of trying to find the right bike for specific types of riding, it's about finding the right bike for specific mindsets. Riding 1000 miles in a day, only stopping when necessary is one mindset. Riding 1000 miles over 3-5 days, stopping every hour or so to see the sights is another. Any bike can ride those 1000 miles but some will fit those mindsets better than others.
@@jrobrides1340 Absolutely bro, and for me it's the stopping every hour and basking in the scene because it's a new place to me, maybe when my bones and body aches call for it then I'll buy me a whale of a bike just to ride 1000 miles a day with 1 stop haha, can't even imagine that, if I ever get to that point it's time to hang my helmet and display my boots somewhere in my house and reminisce the good times. haha I'll tell ya' the 2021 Speed Twin has my full attention too, but indeed the rninet is something that 100 years from now some young kid will be wanting to rebuild it to ride a heritage classic.
Nah, those 3 wheeled atrocities are just bad. Not to mention their riders never use pull offs in the twisties. Doing 15 under everywhere, hate those guys.

There's a some sense of achievement in touring on a bike that "you can't tour on", but you're right about the soreness.

love this video! i really gotta take my trident on its first camping trip before the summer's over!
Thanks! I think I might actually take my next trip in the fall when it's cooler!
looks like a great camping spot
The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was at the camp's entrance, so there was a bit of traffic. Everything else was great.

Nice. Looks like it’s more about function over form where the Dart is more style and looks than performance. I still love the Dart though.
