I’ve Used this live in Churches (Apostolic/Pentecostal)for years it is amazing when there was no actual Organ available when settings are tweaked to your liking people will think theres an organ in the building
I bought this for $104 dollars and it puts all my other Hammond sims to bed, even my Kurzweil 2600 does not sound as good, nor is it as versatile as the IK B3X. A great buy and a great sound. Worth every penny.
I bought the Leslie plugin not too long ago for PC. I have not used much as I have been going more towards mobile phones and tablets but software based instrument are definitely a go these days. I may pick this up during the holidays. I actually use sampletank for iOS. Someone thought I was playing a Hammond one day just from that app so it would be nice to see how this sounds.
This organ is fantastic. I have a 1952 C-2/122x2, 1965 A-102/145, VB3 1.4, Acoustic Samples B-5, Arturia B3V 2, the demo version of VB-3II (trying to decide to buy) and the demo of this great plug-in which not only matches the depth and authenticity of all of the previous, but kills the other plug-ins in the Leslie sim department! If I didn't have the IK Leslie plugin already, it would be a no brainier to get this but... Well, what weirdo has just 3 organ plug-ins anyway? 🤔😋
Before the modern vibrato unit of the Hammond organ was developed, some early models, such as the model BC, had additional tonewheels for the "chorus tone generator". Only a few rare organs have both the chorus tone generator and the vibrato unit. That's one feature that should also have been included with this to make it truly perfect. But I definitely agree that it sounds like the real thing - and who would I be to argue with Lonnie Smith, in any case?
I saw this on the Hammond site about the SK-1: "At our website, You may now download and install custom Tonewheel sets provided by some of our Artists, as well as other vintage Hammond Organs as cloned by our in-house expert staff." So maybe the chorus tone generator is available in the digital world...
Ah, apparently not: the custom tonewheel sets simply change the voicing of the existing 96 tonewheels; they don't allow adding more tonewheels. Although that may not be the obstacle it seems, since one can switch between regular and custom.
I was trying to use Hammond b3x for my MacBook. I have a viscount legend live and it has 38 drawbars. 18 for the upper, 18 for the lower and 2 for the bass. The only issue i’ve been having was mapping my 4 sets of drawbars but the Midi CC seems to be the same for each of them… It says that the Midi CC is 12 for the first brown drawbar, bass drawbar, and first lower brown drawbar. Whenever i pull my first brown drawbar out for the upper manual, the 1st brown drawbar for the bass and the 1st brown drawbar for the lower manual comes out at the same time. When i pull out any other drawbar it does the same thing for the lower manual’s drawbars. I’m trying to resolve this but i’m not sure how…
Hi braxtonnn jacksonnn, I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble. Our IK Support team can assist you via www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support - simply search the FAQ there and if you don't find the answer there will be a button to open a ticket directly to our helpful techs! Thank you.
Please visit www.hammondb3x.com for full information but the gist is that our approach here was to use our analog modeling skills to capture not only the many "parts" that make up the Hammond B3's unmistakable signature sound but also to make sure the sum of those parts become the whole that is the B3. Our modeling goes deeper than the components or just an organ, speaker, cabinet, or even all of the controls. We did our best to use our technology to create a living, breathing instrument that runs on your computer. And Hammond themselves were there each step of the way to make sure we were doing it right.
Justin Powell it is now available for the iPad. And IK Multimedia claims it has all of the features of the PC version. iPad version is $99.99. PC version $299.99. If they are actually the same, why is there a $200 difference in their price? $99.99 is certainly the highest price I’ve seen for a single, stand alone instrument, on iPad. I have Galileo Organ. But, i have been waiting for a genuine Hammond emulation since I started using the iPad for live performing, a few years ago. Going to wait for more reviews, before considering this purchase. It’s only been out for a couple of days, for iPad.
The iRig Keys I/O series offers MIDI control, which can allow you to take advantage of apps like Hammond B-3X an officially licensed Hammond organ instrument. If you have your own MIDI keyboard for MIDI input, or if you have MIDI data on the iPad you want to send to a MIDI capable Organ, I would suggest an iRig MIDI 2 or iRig Pro I/O. Sounds good, but IK, if your going to do it, do it for real. Let this be an entry level version for affordability, and have a pro version with 61 key weighted stacks, real draw boards, and a bass pedalboard for those of us who want the real feel deal.
This is for real, it sounds amazing and is approved by Hammond themselves. At this time for great hardware control please look at the Hammond XK and SK line as we include proper profiles for them in Hammond B-3X for incredible control.
OK, let me clarify IK. I love your realistic sound engine within the plugin; however, an IK Multimedia skeletal designed controller like your new controller, with the afore mentioned set up, would be preferred by those of us who don’t acoustically have room in our studio for a full on Hammond B3. Nor, would we (I’m speaking from my needs perspective and others, I’m sure) want a scaled down version of the real thing. Your concept is great.👍🏾I’m just saying, expand on this concept for us pros please. Thanks for your reply, and keep up the good work.😉
Thank you, I just wanted to point out that the Hammond mappings are there, and the XK and SK are definitely smaller and lighter than that real B3 thankfully :)

Couple it with Electro-Harmonix
