Ok, now my curiosity has really been piqued. I was taught how to use and disarm the Ken, Jo and Tanto in our advanced classes back then, except for the Wakizashi, that's something I've never seen before. Didn't even know it was part of the Aikido curriculum. Although my Kali training could probably translate to Wakizashi techniques, but I sure would like to learn the Wakizashi waza.
you should never hand the weapon back to your practice partner because if the day ever comes when you are attacked in the street you may instinctively give the weapon back to a real attacker
In the end with your boken, youre grip is slightly open ,. im WAY below youre level 👻and dont want to be unpolite,. may its wrong from my side,. but with the slightly opened grip youre out of the easyest way to lift ,. and with the tight grip the sword what youre body allowes you move in a natural angle what gives the energy you recieve from opponent back to him,. ty for share wich an nice day ,. hopefully im allowed one day to train with you and youre team,.🐞💐
for what it's worth after consideration I'm thinking Dr.Kitagawa may have had a point. you aren't a typical martial artist. what a man at you age and level represents is more than simple instruction and there's a greater responsibility. I'm always tempted to side with the individual when expression is involved, but I'm American of course that's what I'm going to do. I also think you guys should have kept this squabble private, it doesn't look good in my opinion. I hope you guys work things out and make more content.
It's just a demonstration, a performing basically; but I agree that it gives a false idea of what a knife attack would be like. Although the principles of Aiki are well demonstrated in this video, sadly, the reality of a knife attack is diametrically different. Nobody who really wants to hurt you is going to attack the way you as see here, not at all. Trying what has been demonstrated here against someone crafty who really wants to kill you is simply an stupidity. In short, there won't even be a fight, just a lot of blood.
Thank you so much for this elegant demonstration. Tori and Uke seem to be a single person in a perfect emotions control

So beautiful and great aikido.
You are amazing as always.
Thank you for sharing the video.
Sensei looks extra full of energy and explosive focus today - weapons!!
Also *great* to see students in dojo.. soooo lucky!!
Gracias
