1- You don’t choose your passions; your passions choose you 2- Take pride in your choices, not your gifts 3- Be right a lot 4- Be stubborn on vision and flexible on details 5- Failure and invention are inseparable twins 6- Two pizza teams 7- Memos, not PowerPoints
elaborating on why according to Bezos.... 2- don't squander your gifts, it still takes effort to use them in constructive way 3- Be right a lot by listening, being flexible and non-egostical, e.g. challenge your own assumptions and changing your mind often as you grow and learn from reanalysing or from new data 4- Don't be afraid to realise your path is wrong and do a course-correct, in fact this is essential for ensuring you reach the final destination 5- Failure is embarassing for adults, but is actually how we learn when growing up, and this is also true as adults, so embrace failure as the natural way to learn and grow, get it wrong a few times in order to get it right 6- We have evolved to communicate most naturally and comfortably in groups of 10 to 12 people, so subdivide large teams into these smaller groups and intra-group communication will occur naturally and easily 7- Memos contain verbs, topic sentences, properly explained points, giving the readers a good explanation while making the author clarify and explain which allows for a good discussion after 30 mins of reading the memo at the start of the meeting, whereas powerpoints often get interrupted by the audience and go into less details
Gold to hear the thoughts behind these prescribed principles I love the pizza principle, encouraging failure, and was surprised he didn't mention the long term, one of his favorite principles, one of the most important ones as well
Don't forget a childlike willingness to FAIL. We left Detroit, because we "failed" to enjoy factory work. We live in a tropical area now. But hatas not all...😀Great advice!
What is up here? Two pizza teams??? I cracked up. "If you need a 3rd pizza the team's probably too big." To think Jeff Bezos 'thinks in pizzas' when he decides team size is HI-Larious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Incredibly insightful. Being a successful leader myself (certainly not at a Bezos level) I can assure you his advice is absolutely spot on. Especially about constantly evaluating your core beliefs and migrating your positions as required.
This is sooo good! Thank you Jeff! Kudos!! My saying , that I have shared numerous times with my kids~ " a choice made in a few seconds could effect every moment of the rest of your life! Make your choices well!"
I think that the spirit of what he was saying is more... if a choice made in a few seconds turns out to be the wrong one, don't sweat it as you can change your mind and make a different choice. We have to make some wrong choices to figure out the best right choices. So don't be afraid to experiment and make those wrong choices, then course-correct each time until you find the best way. Your ethos seems to be 'be cautious of making the wrong choice as this could affect the rest of your life' which is the opposite of what Bezos is saying. He is saying putting yourself out there and making mistakes is the only way to grow and end up on the right path, and also to embrace this and not see wrong choices as negatives, but as opportunities to course-correct.
“Good leaders are right a lot” no they END UP right a lot - because they ultimately change their mind on things - they do the unnatural thing to disconfirm their beliefs.. and get new data or re analyze situation
You can’t force your self to be passionate about something you aren’t, instead you’ll find something that drives you. You can’t make that decision, it’s made for you.
Trust, Respect and Sincerety must go together. thank you do much for wonderful words i love you boss i appreciate you i will continue my work hard ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
If only it were so easy to find your passion so simply. If you were smart you would realise and that he’s saying you essentially fail and grow into your passion.
Jeff you look amazing there. I don't think you realise, exactly what a really decent guy you are, i wish i could help you see this. I think your great, fancy you, dare i say love you, absolutely heart breaking crazy for you. Just want you to be happy, x
Who on earth wold listen to a person who can't even manage a personal relationship. Anyone can do well in business when they are single minded. Managing both a family and a business successfully is unique in the business world and Bezos didn't manage that at all.
He was married for 25 years before they decided to separate. This is part of life and happens to many other couples. I’ll never understand people who despise others and find any reason to look down on them, just because they happen to be more successful in life.
Garret, Too much to write here. Briefly, all the lying, the hypocrisy, double talk, pomposity, was beyond sickening.....All for playing by the rules. I have a newspaper interested in our story now. I was told verbatim from an Amazon manager. "We're Amazon.com. We can do whatever we want to do." .....I just hope to spread the word that all is not what it appears to be when you Pro Sell for them.

Thanks, that was helpful. I could not bear to listen to this nasty oligarch regurgitating other people's with without giving credit.
@@BANKO007 Are you saying you invented every single word in dictionary? because those too are other people's words.
he only says that to give people meaning
Thanks
I like the 6-page memo technique. An efficient way of carrying out meetings. Instead of listening, talking, taking notes, back and forth.

This philosophy does not applied to Fullfillment Associates.

Loved his explanation on #3 Be Right A Lot. Not what I expected him to say.
man I love how this guys think
If there were more than two people in my "Two Pizza Team", I would be... well... I would just order my own pizza.
How do you value being right a lot and embrace failure at the same time? Something about balance, yin/yang and QED for sure...
Success starts with a failure.
Ali Azhar no it doesnt ur the failure
Anybody who doesn’t change their mind a lot is dramatically understanding the complexity of the world we live in.

It's always day one at Amazon.
amazon just waits for someone to invent something, then copy and undercut them. They dont have anything in the pipeline
Incredibly insightful. Being a successful leader myself (certainly not at a Bezos level) I can assure you his advice is absolutely spot on. Especially about constantly evaluating your core beliefs and migrating your positions as required.
Bezos should migrate his rotten core straight to hell.
I have a passion. To be able to seek a video without a Jeff Bezos advertisement.
You can't be right until you admit you are not always right.

He might not be perfect and a business man but he is wise. I like that the wealthiest man on earth is also very wise.
Any selfish wise ass can become a bloviating dick.
Alexander Rivera He is not wise at all; just good at exploiting labor.
i dont think you could find the definition of Wise even if you googled it
Culture makes great companies, not just technology

1. You don’t choose your passions; your passions choose you
Can someone elaborate?
You can’t force your self to be passionate about something you aren’t, instead you’ll find something that drives you. You can’t make that decision, it’s made for you.
I eat an entire pizza on my own 😅
You need to get a team 😂
I'm sick of this video at the top of every menu.
lol....its annoying
Beauty. Thanks for your time Jeff

You dont need gifts to stock shelves have a nice day
you don't choose your passion your passion choose you????? that's not smart
If only it were so easy to find your passion so simply. If you were smart you would realise and that he’s saying you essentially fail and grow into your passion.
If Bezos (among many others alike) only knew the consequences of their massive implications upon this world....
A great man, an amazing company: Amazon!

Bezos studies RSD.
Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? ( King James Version Bible1960)
This man is the reason we have the word Genius!
A selfish lack of scruples is the key to being a miser like Bezos, not genius.
It doesnt take a genius to exploit labor.
Just cunning and a shitty personality.

Bezos, all I ask is 10 minutes in a room alone with you.
VIDEOHEREBOB how does Amazon deliver its goods in under 2 hours
Personally, I really could care less about my packages getting to me in under 2 hours. I care about the thousands of jobs that will likely be lost.
why he cares . you are just a looser on youtube
