I’m still skeptical about some of his choices in the passing game. He got lucky on 3-4 passes that could’ve easily been INTs. And we could’ve been looking at a 1TD 3 INTs stat line instead of the other way around. That said, how his legs open up the run and rpo game is undeniable. Definitely keeps the edge players honest and stops them completely just crashing down on the RB, which is what happened when Miller was in.
The era of straight drop back QBs is just about a thing of the past. Honestly SC needs to stop playing favorites. Branch goes damn near a whole season without scoring is a complete coaching mistake. Look how excited the players were today. And the defense is awesome…didn’t let ‘em score in the 4th quarter…HELLO
I think all of us who've been watching SC football all season know the O-line is the problem. Opponents started stunting and blitzing Moss he didn't know how to handle the pressure. Maiava seems to know how to find gaps to run when he's in trouble, but this is just one game. Maiva should have been starting all season!
Going to need to see Maiava against Notre Dame to confirm whether or not he should’ve been starting. Beating a Nebraska team that hasn’t been to a bowl game in near a decade in LA is one thing… beating Michigan/Penn St/LSU is a different level. I worry our fanbase is going to get too hyped on this single performance. Just like they did with Moss against Louisville or Kedon Slovis against Stanford. This fanbase loves to quickly anoint a new QB as elite and then just as quickly tear them down if they don’t live up to the unrealistic expectations.
because he performed really well against Louisville at the Holiday Bowl breaking 2 records: Most touchdowns thrown in USC program history for a debut QB and set a new Holiday Bowl record for the most touchdowns thrown in a game. He also did good against LSU
Way too early to compare Maiava to Caleb, it’s just one game. And against Nebraska at that. That said, Moss was a bit of fools gold. His first game versus Louisville they didn’t know how to scout him and tried to force USC to throw the ball lining up in a lot of single high and cover zero. Moss had 6 TDs his first game, but if you rewatch the film a lot were risky 50-50 jump balls that could’ve went either way. Some games that paid off like against LSU, other games it didn’t like against Washington. I see some of the same here from Maiava. Everyone is going to tout that Maiava had 3 TDs 1 rushing TD and just 1 INT, but it could’ve easily been flipped if some of the lucky bounces didn’t go his way today. Lastly on Moss, USC’s offensive line has really struggled pass blocking and as a pocket passer it was a bad combination with Moss even though he’d be a solid starter on a lot of teams with a decent OL. At one point midseason Moss had been hit almost double any other QB in power 5. It looks like Maiava with his mobility can better make things happen when USC’s mediocre OL inevitably gets beat. Also Jaydens ability to run read-option is a game changer for them running the ball, especially in short yardage since most teams would completely ignore Moss on the read option and just crash down on the RB.
Another "LOSS" if Miller fart on pillow Moss was the starting QB Jayden Maiava: Pocket Awareness Sustained plays/drives gave USC Defense much needed rest Athletic Ability keeping opposing defenses honest Deep Ball threat freeing up run plays Quick Release passes etc etc etc Nebraska gave up 2-100 yard rushers in 2 years, Woody Marks had 146 yards 7.7 yards ave Zacharial Branch finally has a TD this Season! Jayden Maiava 🏈 Woody Marks 🏈 ✌✌
@@Privateers1-g1q don’t forget the play where the LB tackled Lake McRee between two refs but they called offensive PI on the RB because he thought Maiava was going to run for the first down
These uniforms should be in the line up more often love the look and also didn’t know how much I miss that old field.
Yeah, me too. Looks much better than other ones.
Jayden Maiava should've been starting
Every WR on the team has had their game to shine this season. Today was Duce’s turn ✌️✌️
Not branch unfortunately
Maivas legs keep the defense honest. Seeing USC do an option was awesome.

The OLine has been playing much better the 2nd half of the season
Moss started because of his performance against Louisville and LSU

He’ll go pro one day
✌
What’s the deal with Jakobi he needs to be WR1
He missed the game due to illness. Half the team has the flu 🤧
If Maiava is the Caleb Williams of 2024 then why did Riley start Moss to begin with?
because he performed really well against Louisville at the Holiday Bowl breaking 2 records: Most touchdowns thrown in USC program history for a debut QB and set a new Holiday Bowl record for the most touchdowns thrown in a game. He also did good against LSU
@Evenflow-us1py I saw both games and even thought he could go high in the NFL What happened to Moss?

Miller is just too soft. We need option, mobile quaterback.
@@ovlohnaw miller is tough as nails he is just a game manager at best
Lol the last play...good call refs
The refs didn’t call holding on Nebraska the entire game despite holding on every single play 😂

He could have made differences this season.
