I missed the eng comp finished shot? What a fantastic car.
I was 15-16 lusting for a Vega as my first car, I was going to pump an Olds 215 alum block with a munci. But a 67 SS Camaro got in the way. If you cut the front bumper to mimic a 70 RS Camaro it looks really nice.

Bravo, very nice work. I had a 73 Vega GT when I was in the Navy. I had a blast in that little car. It had some tricks in it but nothing like this. You made art. Art that goes zoom.

I loved my Vega, white with black ralley stipes, Monza rims, no need to lower it. In the 80,s it turned heads, I was going to do a V6 mod on it and make it a road racer, but it was hit by a truck in a parking lot at venice beach, it was junk after that

I watched this, and my best additional advise/question for you for this project is you should've had ALL of your work protected by POWDER COATING instead of just spray painting (I used to do auto/body). In a relatively short time, all this restorative work will get eaten up again by more rust. I've seen alot of REALLY NICE Vega's online just recently, and I would've stripped it down like you did this one and do to it what you did to this one.
Back in '76, I had a bicentennial Vega GT 4-speed hatchback from a big Chev dealership, and it was a beauty, and I personally installed a SCAT performance kit in it. The only problem I had with it was it got repoed.
In my recent browsing I've found there is the Vega Cosworth, and the Vega Yenko. I think you could've done MUCH BETTER with your time, money and effort by doing some quality research. I didn't know about the above models until just in the last week (10-12-24).
The rust was the pig problem with Vegas, next to the thin body metal, of which you showed in this video. Next, was the aluminum block and the lack of rings burning out. Did you make changes in these areas? Food for thought. Browse RUclips, ALOT of info there on this, inc. dealers and personal sellers that already have the work done. Personally, I would sell/trade your above Vega IMMEDIATELY when you are finished and hunt YT as I suggested. You'll be surprised at what you find.

@@LivinlifenFL One of my co-workers had a v-8 monza back in the day.
I've always considered the Vega the baby Camaro because from the first year of production up to 1977 the Vega pretty much had the same body panels as the Camaro at a smaller scale, and also the headlight assembly was on par with the Camaro.
I'd like to find a Vega with a nice small block..

Yes when I was a teenager and my mother had two Vegas. She had a Vega wagon but before that she had a Vega GT which looked really cool it was a dark green with the white stripes no power whatsoever but we wrecked that one going to Florida for vacation and that’s how we ended up with the baby blue Kamback wagon. Unfortunately had to use our vacation money to buy the new car so we ended up turning around and going back home to Georgia. Yep all about memories isn’t it.

You built a car that GM could of built back when they first produced this car, of course it would of been a SS 350 engine for the time. Way more units would of sold of course hurting sales for the Camaro and Corvettes. This car then, like yours here today, would of been a super sport car, would of outrun everything back then!
