I'm surprised you didnt mention the book follow ups to Fable 3. Reaver really shines pure evil in those. For all Fable 3's faults it was still an enjoyable game for me, and I hate how book writers did the PC dirty.
I was trying to be considerate of what was considered canon - I may do a separate video on all of the information available. Fable 3 was a good game (in my opinion), I just preferred the first two.

The story is extremely short, the worlds is extremely empty and even the things that are worth exploring are 90% fighting enemies, 9% exploring and 1% treasure, while in fable 1 and 2, it was about 40% fighting enemies, 40% exploring and 20% treasure. Essentially, you had good reasons to go off the main trail because there might be something extremely valuable hidden there, or at least a good story of what happened before you got there. If Fable 3 was simply slapped as a DLC on Fable 2, with the world being actually pre-generated based on your decisions(which doesnt need to be much, Reaver and Logan did create most of Fable 3's setting in the first place, so 99% of the look of the game would be the same, but also have an altered Bloodstone, Oakfield and Brightwood available based on the previous hero's actions alone would be amazing.

I like to think that if Reaver ever found out the main character from Fable 2 obtained a dragonstomper and locked in a chest for his son that he would kill his son for the gun
He has another ability of extreme agility. That plus his accuracy is what allowed him to deflect a bullet with a cane. Something I love is that while Reaver's abilities as a hero aren't the most flashy (compared to the player who casts fireballs and lightning), but he is incredibly dangerous. His wealth and long life have made him extremely influential, and he could snipe you from hundreds of metres away without you ever knowing he was coming.

Great! , Reaver is my favorite character. From what i have read Reaver didnt actually did the deal because vanity (maybe in part) but ,as he stated in his diary, he did it more of the fear of death and didnt know it will cause the death of okvale. As back in the day he was actually very different "week" as Reaver called it, and was actually the horror of what he did that lead him to become what he is now.
Actually it's not unknown rather Reaver comes back to Albion or not, in one of the books it's stated that he actually becomes ruler after the death of the hero of brightwall
Some of the books are not considered actual canon and so I was reluctant to put that in. I may create another video with all of the information. (Canon and not canon).

I really hope we get to see reaver return in the new fable game. I love him, his personality, his sense of style, his hubris just makes such an interesting character, a shame we couldn't romance him in any older fable game.

Dude, if the new Fable 4 game DOES NOT have Reaver in it, Im going to be immensely disappointed. 😞 This guy has so much backstory behind him, yet NOTHING about his arc has been resolved yet! I want to know if he ever fails to make a sacrifice or gets some sort of redemption, 'cause he has hinted that he was a different man and has NEVER truly been able to get over his traumatic past. He's got ghosts to deal with and it'd be amazing if we the Hero had the option to help him somehow.

Crazy how reaver comes off as just an over the top bad ass but if you know his backstory and the reason he is the way he is you realize his character is actually really tragic.
This brings up something I've always been a bit confused about as far as Heroes go. The main protagonist in each game is in some way related to William Black, the first Hero able to use will abilities. However Fable 2 shows that you can have other heroes that are skilled in only one of the three possible abilities. So are these other Heroes related to William and simply didn't unlock the other abilities because of a genetic lottery or were there other blood lines out there that just had a really high affinity for one skill? Garth for example is a master of Will, but he is seemingly from a completely different country so how he could be related to William Black is unclear; meanwhile Theresa seems to only be skilled in Will usage when she should be able of using all three abilities.
I enjoy Reaver, I couldn't play Fable 3 mainly because I didn't like the setting but I am no surprised he became an industrial kingpin. Also I do love how in Fable 2, if you don't kill Lucien and he begins monologing, Reaver will just shoot him.

I really hope he will be part of the new Fable game. since it's already coming from a different studio and will therefore probably be different to the others, it would be a dumb move to not include him in the new one. fans are already pretty sceptical if the 4th game will live up to the hype and bringing Reaver back would definitely solve that.
I think it’s mentioned in a book which is set after the events of fable 3 that the hero of brightwall gets captured in Samarkand and the spouse of the hero is tricked out of boweadtone castle by reaver who appoints himself mayor, I may or may not have gotten that fully correct though.

for those who haven't read the books (spoiler alert) After the events of Fable 3 Reaver makes these weird hybrids that Ben Finn, Page, a gnome, and some other guy had to put down in this one village not mentioned before. Later in another book Reaver acts as the queen's (not the hero queen the wife of the hero king) advisor and later turns her against her other loyal advisors General Timmins and Page (while the hero king is away) and usurps the throne... the series ends on a cliffhanger with Reaver having control of the sanctuary and the hero king being captured by the temptress from Fable: the Journey but it is implied that the king remained captured, the throne was eventually taken back but they had to deal with the loss of the king, and Reaver remained alive and still slithering his way to power seeing how he is mentioned as head of industry in Fable: The Journey... I asked Christie Golden if she'd ever finish the series over twitter but due to her employment at blizzard it would be a "Conflict of interest" it looks like for now at least we will be left with only speculation and theory as to how the story ends. twitter.com/ChristieGolden/status/1256328440354967554
I never knew Reaver was involved in Fable 1, 2 and 3. Always thought when I played fable 3 and first meet him, he was some famous industrial man and playboy.
I find it sad and interesting how Reaver was so traumatized by what happened in Oakvale he completely changed his mindset and personality in order to cope/mask. Every once in awhile I bet his mask slips and he breaks down.
I like to think that Reaver is actually the Hero of Oakvale, and that an evil pure skill playthrough is canon for Fable 1. His origin story is just almost word for word the same as the Hero of Oakvales. They both grew up in Oakvale and witness it being destroyed. They both kill a pirate king (Twinblade) and in like the same place too! They're both bald. Reaver even mentions a womans cries during the destruction of Oakvale, could this be referring to Theresa?? I doubt it - knowing Reaver it was probably a love interest he had. She is never named though. But I would love if this had happened as a big plot twist. Something that always confused me about Fable 1 is - the citizens of albion all like to say in books and stuff that The Hero of Oakvale defeated Jack twice with the sword of aeons. But for that to be the case he would have had to have killed Theresa (throwing her corpse into the void) but, she's around in Fable 2. Okay so what if - Lucien is dead, Fable 2 is ending and not only is Theresa revealed to be a walking corpse possessed by the queen of blades - but Reaver is her brother and murderer! And guess what? He still has Jacks mask! *gasp* :3 alright alright there are holes lol. But I would love it either way. Fable always lacked that big plot twist moment that turns everything you thought you knew on its head, and most rpg's have that sorta thing. I was severely disappointed that nothing big and evil happened with Theresa in Fable 3. That was kinda what Fable 2 implied with her. She was clearly only interested in the power of the spire.

Basically I think its possible Reaver wears a wig, but I suppose there's no evidence for that, beyond that Reaver seems very stylish and obsessed with his looks. There is evidence that suggests the Hero of Oakvale may be canonically bald however, since he's bald in a lot of the promotional material and during the startup logo. Edit: I guess I mean it would kinda fit Reavers character if it were a wig.

Fable 3 isn't necessarily a bad game. But they did take a step back from Fable 2's mechanics, especially with the expression wheel.

for those who haven't read the books (spoiler alert)
After the events of Fable 3 Reaver makes these weird hybrids that Ben Finn, Page, a gnome, and some other guy had to put down in this one village not mentioned before. Later in another book Reaver acts as the queen's (not the hero queen the wife of the hero king) advisor and later turns her against her other loyal advisors General Timmins and Page (while the hero king is away) and usurps the throne... the series ends on a cliffhanger with Reaver having control of the sanctuary and the hero king being captured by the temptress from Fable: the Journey but it is implied that the king remained captured, the throne was eventually taken back but they had to deal with the loss of the king, and Reaver remained alive and still slithering his way to power seeing how he is mentioned as head of industry in Fable: The Journey... I asked Christie Golden if she'd ever finish the series over twitter but due to her employment at blizzard it would be a "Conflict of interest" it looks like for now at least we will be left with only speculation and theory as to how the story ends.

why didn't garth finish off reaver? or continue to hunt him down. I'm pretty curious
He grew frustrated with Garth basically. Garth escaped but had no real interest in following Reaver back to Albion, staying with some monks instead.
I never knew Reaver was involved in Fable 1, 2 and 3. Always thought when I played fable 3 and first meet him, he was some famous industrial man and playboy.

I find it sad and interesting how Reaver was so traumatized by what happened in Oakvale he completely changed his mindset and personality in order to cope/mask. Every once in awhile I bet his mask slips and he breaks down.
I would like to think his character is that deep but after seeing what he did to Barnum, I do struggle a little with it.

I like to think that Reaver is actually the Hero of Oakvale, and that an evil pure skill playthrough is canon for Fable 1. His origin story is just almost word for word the same as the Hero of Oakvales. They both grew up in Oakvale and witness it being destroyed. They both kill a pirate king (Twinblade) and in like the same place too! They're both bald. Reaver even mentions a womans cries during the destruction of Oakvale, could this be referring to Theresa?? I doubt it - knowing Reaver it was probably a love interest he had. She is never named though. But I would love if this had happened as a big plot twist. Something that always confused me about Fable 1 is - the citizens of albion all like to say in books and stuff that The Hero of Oakvale defeated Jack twice with the sword of aeons. But for that to be the case he would have had to have killed Theresa (throwing her corpse into the void) but, she's around in Fable 2. Okay so what if - Lucien is dead, Fable 2 is ending and not only is Theresa revealed to be a walking corpse possessed by the queen of blades - but Reaver is her brother and murderer! And guess what? He still has Jacks mask! *gasp* :3 alright alright there are holes lol. But I would love it either way. Fable always lacked that big plot twist moment that turns everything you thought you knew on its head, and most rpg's have that sorta thing. I was severely disappointed that nothing big and evil happened with Theresa in Fable 3. That was kinda what Fable 2 implied with her. She was clearly only interested in the power of the spire.
Reaver is NOT bald.. where the hell did you get that from 😒 let me guess... you can buy a wig that looks like his.. that doesnt mean ANYTHING 🤣🤣
@@xFairytalePrincessx lol you got a good point. I actually took a lot of these points from an old post on FableHero.com. Basically I think its possible Reaver wears a wig, but I suppose there's no evidence for that, beyond that Reaver seems very stylish and obsessed with his looks. There is evidence that suggests the Hero of Oakvale may be canonically bald however, since he's bald in a lot of the promotional material and during the startup logo.
Edit: I guess I mean it would kinda fit Reavers character if it were a wig.
@@jordansmith6959 lol I know I read that took and shook my head (about him being bald) people are silly when it comes to theories (not you just the original post) and sorry for the long reply I just came onto this like, just now to see the comments lol
But I dont believe Reaver to be bald as I dont think it would suit his character. (Yeah he is vain) but it would be better to have him actually have hair lol plus no mention of him being bald whatsoever in the games :)
@@xFairytalePrincessx I think I agree on that point and honestly, I find this idea extremely fun, but I shook my head on reading it for the first time too lmao - the OG post on the forum devolved into a quite frankly embarrassing fight too lol. It's definitely the sorta thing where it's like - "Wellll, maybe?' Personally, I had some time to think about this and I think it'd be cool if Reaver were the son of the hero of oakvale and perhaps lady grey? Then these weird similarities could take on a "like father like son" sort of cliche.

Plus I sometimes have an arguement about his age too lol People say hes just 'over 250' but i did math and stuff and went by what was said in the game and came out at near 'hes like 650-700 or so'. But it would be cool if he WAS the hero of Oakvale... would be quite a surprise/shock to people lmao
