I feel like the extent of lance's "maturing" arc was just him losing his passion for life and subsequently wallowing in lost love forever. Same thing with Keith, too... not in his going forward scene of delivering supplies to the needy, but over all the seasons he "matures," but loses everything that made him Keith (impulsivity, snarkiness, passion... I could go on for hours... at least he's still loyal and courageous, but that wildfire that used to be Keith is completely burnt out). I'm not sure about Shiro because he was pushed to the side, but at least Hunk and Pidge are happy and pursuing their dreams. It's just sad.
Ari Hinson don’t worry about Lance, the rest of his life isn’t about him mourning Allura, it says in his end card that he’s surrounded by the things he loves and is shown perfectly happy. He does the things he loves while spreading Allura’s message.

After losing Allura, he lives quietly and away from the people he spent all that time trying to feel like he fit in with and was needed (what was the point of all that development?). Personally, it's hard to believe that someone like that would mellow out so immediately. Thank you for your comment, though :'). I think Keith just grew to be more of a "leader." He was basically forced to take over the Black Lion, which meant he had to know how to make decisions calmly, think of the team, and give out orders to the rest of the Lions because they all depended on his leadership. If he was still the same snarky Keith, he definitely wouldn't be able to lead the team.
This is so true, Keith was my favourite character and as the seasons went on his personality almost drained off and 99% of his dialogues just were about missions and stuff

His entire story arc was based off of him being obsessed with Allura for 8 seasons and then finally dating because lotor screwed her over and lance was her rebound. And then they made him a farmer? It wasn’t fair to him. He is a wonderful and adventurous and ambitious boy who deserves an amazing exciting life with someone who’s first choice is lance. He deserves the world.

Lance could have been such a complex and amazing character and they completely did him dirty. Also that he and Allura had no chemistry, and seemed a bit sudden and forced. This is my personal opinion, I'm not trying to attack anyone.
I'm just really pissed about that last season because the show had a good story, good enemies and great characters, they could have done so many things with them because they were all so well created, they all had amazing talents and abilities but also weaknesses which made them so real and relatable and I just hate that they decided to do such ending, forcing relationships, not actually finishing some character's stories, not giving much back story of amazing characters and just wasting so many good characters because they didn't give them the screen time and development that I feel they deserved.

I love how dreamworks made it seem like Lance and Allura had character and romantical development. They kind of did, but it was just that she was all annoyed with him, then he hugs her or some shit once and she was like "oh ok he is kinda cute tbh but still dont like him lol" THEN we go to season 7 where he barley shows any interest in dating Alurra. 1st episode of season 8 however BAM! Dating. Now, you can pull this next sentence off however you want to! I think, Lance and Keith had the most character development, and most relationship development. I think they should have been put together, a couple of my friends and I talked for about an hour on how they must have gotten together at the end of it all. My dad was ranting to me telling me that they couldn't make his characters from his childhood show gay, since they never were. But. Shiro never was in the origonal Voltron. He was gay, so Keith growing up around him might have opened him up to that kind of stuff. Shiro being Lances rolemodel could have opened him up also. Alas, this is not a rant about Klance. Lance never got a real charcter arc. The only thing that changed with him in season 8 was his want to date Alura shot through the roof, and he became super depressed through it all. He never opened up about his inner demons, his obviously low selfesteem. He never really had a point into where we learned anything about himself, and only himself. Season eight did make me cry, it did make me happy, (for he characters endings, exept Lance who never should have dated Allura out of the blue like thay) but it was a major let down. By the way, did anyone notice how minor Allura's and Lance's relationship was? It seemed like it didn't matter unless something was happening to the two themselves. I dont know, this whole rant was just my opinion. Lance deserved a much better ending. Not a farmer. I don't give a single fuck if dreamworks was trying to make his ending realistic or cute. They went from hating eachothers guts in season 1, to Lance asking Keith advice and trusting him as a best friends in season 8. I think, with all the chemistry they had, they could have made a great couple. Bre Bre is right, it might have been people trying to blckmail he creators into making Klance cannon. Dreamworks couldn't let these people win, so maybe that's why it isnt cannon.

I love how dreamworks made it seem like Lance and Allura had character and romantical development. They kind of did, but it was just that she was all annoyed with him, then he hugs her or some shit once and she was like "oh ok he is kinda cute tbh but still dont like him lol" THEN we go to season 7 where he barley shows any interest in dating Alurra. 1st episode of season 8 however BAM! Dating. Now, you can pull this next sentence off however you want to! I think, Lance and Keith had the most character development, and most relationship development. I think they should have been put together, a couple of my friends and I talked for about an hour on how they must have gotten together at the end of it all. My dad was ranting to me telling me that they couldn't make his characters from his childhood show gay, since they never were.
But.
Shiro never was in the origonal Voltron. He was gay, so Keith growing up around him might have opened him up to that kind of stuff. Shiro being Lances rolemodel could have opened him up also. Alas, this is not a rant about Klance.
Lance never got a real charcter arc. The only thing that changed with him in season 8 was his want to date Alura shot through the roof, and he became super depressed through it all. He never opened up about his inner demons, his obviously low selfesteem. He never really had a point into where we learned anything about himself, and only himself.
Season eight did make me cry, it did make me happy, (for he characters endings, exept Lance who never should have dated Allura out of the blue like thay) but it was a major let down.
By the way, did anyone notice how minor Allura's and Lance's relationship was? It seemed like it didn't matter unless something was happening to the two themselves. I dont know, this whole rant was just my opinion. Lance deserved a much better ending. Not a farmer. I don't give a single fuck if dreamworks was trying to make his ending realistic or cute. It doesn't seem like something our blue boy would do. Lance may have always wanted to be home, but he was an adventurous guy. He wouldn't settle for a farmer.

It felt like he was there for comedic relief, and when they had a chance they pushed him to the side

I cried so much because we all know how strong lance is. Our poor baby Lance was toyed around by the producers thinking he was going to end up with keef (we all know how that ended). THEN he waited LITERALLY 3 years for Allura and then she FREAKING dies. Our beautiful baby lance has always been brave as HECC we all love him.

@@Joonesque Um, Keith and Lance had so so so much chemistry, they had the biggest development as friends. They went from hating eachothers guts in season 1, to Lance asking Keith advice and trusting him as a best friends in season 8. I think, with all the chemistry they had, they could have made a great couple. Bre Bre is right, it might have been people trying to blckmail he creators into making Klance cannon. Dreamworks couldn't let these people win, so maybe that's why it isnt cannon.
