Thank you for going hand son with our latest ROG Keyboard, appreciate your time detailing.
A few points for some that may be interested.
1. To clarify the PCB is NOT hot swap ( technically the switches can be removed ) but as they are specific to our board we do not recommend this or message the product as being a "hot swap" keyboard. If you want hot swap we have a range of other models that use traditional switches that can be hotswapped.
2. We use our ROG RX Switches which are optical, they also have a different internal design and vary front traditional switches in a cross based stem. This ensures much better keycap stability and feel. The design of the switch also has a much lower likelihood of dust, debris, dander from getting into the keyboard and is great for those considering to use it on the go as well as at home
3. Our wireless is true gaming grade with sub 1ms latency far superior than that of other companies, we also have a function called OMNI mode so if you want to pair with our mice you can have one keyboard and one mouse with a wireless receiver
4. The unit supports OSX and Windows -
We have three utilities Armoury Crate, lighter peripheral only option of Armoury Crate Gear and hardware level control via keys like FN and other buttons.
We do also offer Armoury Crate for OSX
5. The unit will support our ROG Polling Rate Booster for higher than 1K polling
6. You have multiple onboard profiles youc an switch between ( physically on the keyboard ) great if you want layouts for specific games or applications
7. There are two layers of internal sound dampening foam
Lastly for those wondering we do not currently offer a black version. If you have feedback on this let us know.
awesome keyboard, would love it in black!
this keyboard beats out the competition from having good feeling damped low profile optical keys combined with fast AND STABLE wireless which ironically hasn't sent existed till 2024. Anyone else could have done this.. but they didn't, so paying extra for asus tax actually makes sense this time
@@StevoHDA Thanks, we do feel it is a compelling option and have made note of those interested in a black variant.
What an interesting little unit!
Agreed!
Lol, i was looking for a keyboard, and I got a nice cute paws in the keys hahaha, last seconds were worth hahaha love ur cat bro
Thank you lol!
My own personal bias is going to influence this comment, since I am not a fan of low profile keyboards. But having said that, I feel like gaming keyboard companies ripoff buyers with those high prices. Due to the fact that these keyboards are mass made and are not full aluminum, they could be sold for under $100 Dollars and the manufacturer would still make a profit. But I guess that some people are willing to spend that kind of money for the brand name and the RGB look on their desk.
Low profile keyboards are around this price point tbh but I see your point
Thanks for your feedback. Hopefully outstide of Prestons review we can provide some further insight into cost.
We have a wide range of keyboards including other Falchion compact models which are lower in price but still use
Binned switches ( superior than standard ) with consistent gram force deviation and are lubed
Have improved stabs
Have sound dampening foam
Can be wired or wireless depending on your preference.
For instance our ROG FALCHION ACE is currently $110 dollars.
The FALCHION RX LP is a higher end option that will offer hardware specs and design elements that do increase cost you will not see in $100 dollar products
If you look closer you will find items like our
1. Chipset which is a much higher performing wireless chispet ensuring low latency, outstanding battery life and functionality like omni pairing.
Consider our wireless latency is sub 1ms ( 0.06ms )
2. We have upgrade number elements like high quality optical switches, improved stabilizers, dual layer sound dampening, top metal plate, increase onboard memory for profiles, touch control, premium UV rated keycaps
This is not a mass made product and you will not find a profile offering the complete feature set at this price.
Similairy if you did go to full metal this would critically affect the wireless latency and performance. As we do designate this as a gaming product we want to ensure outstanding latency, stability and wireless performance.
We still feel the product has a premium feel in hand even with the mixed composition.
3. Outside of our low latency the unit does also offer high performing polling rate via our ROG Polling Rate booster.
Hope this helps in you understanding why the Falchion RX LP is at a higher cost than more entry offerings. If this was a much more basic product with many of the more premium elements removed you are correct it could be a lower cost but this is not the case.
@@ASUSUSA I appreciate an answer from the manufacturer directly. But $170 USD still seems way to high to me despite your argument. I am a keyboard enthusiast and have built more than a few custom keyboards that can be considered entry level high end boards, that are full CNC aluminum, that come in various colors, that give the buyer various plate options and cost $150 USD or less.
I´m not saying that your product is bad per say. But I do say that it is way overpriced for what it is. A mass made product. that it targeted towards a general audience that doesn´t know much about keyboards beyond the marketing from gaming keyboard makers.
To be fair, custom keyboards are just glorified basic keyboard... they are slow and dont use proper microchips.
There is a reason why Cherry Switches are more expensive, they are higher tolerance. When Cherry said 4.0mm travel distance, it really is 4.0 not 3.8/4 2/4.4 like those of Kailh and Gateron's
red? or blue?
No hall effect
Please just buy a custom board. Or build one. This is glorified ewaste.
Debatable considering there is little to no market for good low profile keyboards, this is literally one of the only good ones
@PrestonsThoughts that's because there is no such thing as a good "low profile keyboard" waster of time and energy. Great video, editing and talking points.
Well I'm glad you still liked my video 😎
can you can make a custom low profile opx switch with not just fast but also stable transmission? sorry but custom keyboards can't do that yet, this even comes with 2000hz polling. small price to pay for the excessive amount of time dumped into learning to make a custom
