Its so weird seeing content like the great monologue explaining everyone’s love for cars and seeing Brooklands. Only 10 miles from me with so much history and really hits home and really touches you when it’s that close to you, that it’s recognised all over the world Same vibe as Clarksons speech Keep up the great content!
I actually worked in the Tesco next to Brooklands for a couple days for a clean recently. Literally made speechless seeing it after learning the history. Such a cool bit of history.
These kind of videos are why I started watching your channel! You bring me back 25 to 30 years when you show the cars that were there when I was there. I truly loved my time in Japan as well as the cars and I had quite a few. From Skylines to Sylvia's to Supras and MR2's and the tracks we used to drift with those cars, nothing moves a person's soul like having a great car and the open road to tear up! It's at that moment that you are enjoying the thrill of the drive. And yes that is what connect's us to a particular cor because they hold those memories that transformed into the best time in our lives! I Really enjoyed this video and the monologue was a great touch too! So there for Samit I challenge you to remember that next race and you will find yourself heading to that podium sooner than you think! Keep up the good work and great content!
It is so depressing seeing those cars sitting there abandoned. I looked up why their abandoned recently and after learning there's no real way for them to find them a new home just put me in a new level of depression. Love the vids.
have you ever seen the abandoned cars of U.A.E. . . like on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. I have heard It is because unlike places like America or Canada, If you have debt and it is not paid , is an actual , "Criminal" offense. Its because places like the United Arab Emirates have some type of , "sharia" law for their residents. So instead of facing , "real" criminal charges and going to jail, the residents will just dump the car then flee from the country. . .pretty crazy
@@christerlarsson5232 And Japan does not want old cars on the road. It wants people constantly giving money to the car companies as a holdover for rebuilding after the war. There is a way to retitle these cars 'easily' but time consuming and costly - export the car to the US as parts and then title in the US (Vermont or Florida being the easiest) and once you get a US title, then return the car to Japan and convert the US title over to JPN registration. I'm looking to see about converting to EV and if this makes a difference. Likely not.
That monologue about the very love of cars felt more akin to Clarkson's opening monologue at the start of Forza Motorsport 4. And it was absolutely spot on.
Awesome video as always Sammit. It's so sad to see all this awesome JDM cars just rotting away. Hats off to you and Okamura-san and everyone else who's trying to save all this awesome JDM cars and bring them back to life.
My CR-X came from Aomori City (about an hour from Misawa) and I was very interested to know that despite them getting winter in the area that it's fairly dry up there. May be why there was so little rust on her when she arrived in Canada in 2005.
Man i was watching this wondering why I never saw any ef civics 88-91. Then I started thinking I might be glad. Like I know they're there but not sure I could stand seeing them.
Im astonished to see those abandoned cars just lying there with good tyres, alloy rims, racing seats and stuff and they're still there,if it was here most of the car parts would be stolen tho.
@14:25 you explain it perfectly. I've grown up around fast cars, driven them when given the opportunity. I've grown up playing Gran Turismo with the cars that were the best in the game, to now owning and daily driving those cars in real life today. I am after one more unicorn and after I obtain it, I will lie to myself and try to convince myself that my collection is complete......which is a blatant falsehood.
The sun was setting over the mountain pass, giving a pink hue to the snow-capped peaks. Sammit and Tom had been driving for hours, their Nissan GT-R drifting on the curves and winding roads. They had heard rumors of forgotten drift cars, abandoned in the mountains, and had decided to try their luck. As they rounded the final corner of the pass, they were greeted with a breathtaking sight. Hundreds of drift cars, in varying conditions, lined the mountainside. Most were old and rusted, but a few remained in pristine condition. Rebecca and Tom couldn't believe their eyes. They walked around the cars, marveling at the different models and years. Each one had a unique story to tell, and it was clear why they had been abandoned. They explored for hours, taking pictures and imagining the stories behind the cars. Finally, they made their way back to the Nissan GT-R. They had found some old parts and tires, and they had even managed to find a few parts for their own cars. It had been a successful trip, and they were both excited to get back home and start working on their cars. As they drove away, they left behind the forgotten drift cars of the mountain pass, their stories lost to time.
What a video with pure feelings, an enthusiast is more than someone who races or drifts. It's simply therapy for those who love them. It's like a video about the Redline anime, "Restlles Destroyer" speed is the only thing that makes you feel alive
Great video as always Sammit. Heart breaking to see those cars in their current form but gives me a little bit of hope that people like you will inject life back into them one day. It's kind of like going to an animal sanctuary, you just want to adopt all of them and give them a loving home :(
This is just like you said. It is AWESOME, but also VERY SAD ! I know you cant buy them all. LoL However: I wonder if you can just start buying ALL the aero (or something) off a bunch of them. Imagine: Sam becomes the biggest Japanese Aero dealer around the world. . hhhahaha Anyway, keep it up. A least we get to look at them peace, eric
My old drift track 🥲. I was in Misawa from 2014-2016 and recognize quite a few of these cars. The silver 180 with the shredded tire, the mr2, the white s14 on modenas, the white miata, and the yellow sil80 were abandoned even back when I was there. I also remember that white trueno coupe ripping it on the weekends, looks like it might’ve been abandoned since then too.
I love this channel especially the Nissan content and I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on importing either a MK4 Supra, R32 or R33 GTR and I’m open to suggestions. I’ve done some homework on the cars themselves
It would be great if the circuit could put you in contact with the owners of some of those cars and be able to buy and fix them to drift there or import and use them in your country.
I follow this channel since im 12 year old now 17 it get better and better thank sammit for make a good car video Sometime we are the same not matter who you are and where you are (We just car lover)
You should find if that FD is good and if it’s for sale. Then let Enzo know about it. Swap the blue FD engine to it, and part the blue FD out for parts. For you, the white S14 with red interior will be perfect.
it is incredible how all those cars with cool parts are just laying arround untouched, i bet most places they would be stripped for parts or outright stolen
Hopefully on your drive back you do a video of the way back and the road you took so I could know how to drive out there if I ever get a chance to get to go to Japan because I'm Mexican in the US and you know how it is when you go to a place where it's not easy to get the residency but I will get it one day and I'll see you out there lol
seeing as you've done your part saving some of these cars maybe this should be a standard for the rest of the jdm youtubers to save at least 1 jdm car a year :O
Brah, you're breaking my heart with every one of these videos.
