Hey legend loving the videos. 10 years in but watching you pass knowledge on is excellent. Double shackles are great but you put the shorteners facing outside. If your short on head height and need to shorten right up, the loops of shortened chains will be on the inside dragging and bring crushed against the side of the load as it sways where they can hook on to something if your unlucky. When im using a spreader it just makes it so much cleaner to have the loops on the outside. Anyways loving these videos, keep them coming 🤙
Hey Mate, Back hooking chains into the master link in now illegal in Australia for maybe for over 5 years. Also back hooking chains is bad rigging practice all the load is side loading that single link contacting the shackle. Best just to shorten the chains normally.
I'm exactly as Del described. A novice who has to pretend to be experienced. I want to get through enough of these video so I know what it is I'm doing when I'm called upon do what I'm suppose to be doing.
Thanks for your videos very helpfull

Too good
Can you exp)ain GMK4075 EKS 5 light ERROW code of the telescopic status please
Dont Back hook chains just shorten them or use slings for top chains to spreader, great pick up.
Hey mate, like the video. But why do u need 2 different size of shackles for?
So the oblong of chain is facing the same way as the chains will spread. If you only have 1 shackle the chains twist

thanks jared good point, yes i have the diagrams you can back hook but you can only have two points off a ring so technically my set up is illegal.
@@riggingcranetips7393 Keep up the vids doing great.!
In NZ we have a minimum diameter to basket a chain through. Aprox 4x chain diameter. Not that many adhere to it.
Where does it show that backhooking to the master link is illegal? Is it blanket not allowed or just de-rates the chain further?
@@brayden-tucker-music Hey mate not allowed to do it anymore got made illegal in 2014 Australian standard 3775.2 page 18.
Kurt Henning’s rigging tips ;)
Mean advice bro
5m slings with short chains with a m shortend out works on dongers that don’t have gutters
No spreader needed
That last tip is a ripper Del, cheers
4th hole feels so good.
what size are the shackles on the bar?
I think they were 6ters on the bottom, just make sure the 2 at bottom and top are good for load
