I’ve been a RN for 44 years. Not once have I ever given medication, vaccination, or any medical treatment without a physician’s order. Military or not, there are rules and laws governing what we can or cannot do. If I were to administer a vaccine without an order, it would be considered practicing medicine without a license. I would be reprimanded and lose my nursing status. Having said that, I don’t know the entire story, or nursing laws in South Korea but they couldn’t be that different from the US. I pray for the safety of Jin and JHope. Some crazy people out there. ❤

This is EXACTLY what I was talking to my son about the other day! He is in the military, and it worried me! Like, if this could happen to one of the biggest celebrities in the world, what makes you think this couldn't happen to a common person. I hate that Jin had to go through this, and I hope he is safe. I hope they are all safe! All the BTS members and other soldiers as well. As a nurse, I'm appalled, and I can't even imagine doing that to ANYONE! Thanks for covering this story. However, I am concerned that from what we’ve heard, the military is downplaying the more serious part of this incident: the nurse administering a shot, which if it’d been a psycho nurse, could’ve injected him with a dangerous substance. Hope the media continues to pressure the military so they are held accountable.

If this was the US Army, this nurse would be jailed, or at least be restricted after the investigation she would be jailed demoted kicked out any, and all of the above she might even be stripped of her nursing license. well said!! everything has been so ridiculous on the part of the government! I am outraged!
knowing all that army and his company should have fought for the exemption of bts!! because the 7 boys could not say anything because they would be criticized for life!
They have done for their country (and for the world) what no other Korean has done!! What did it cost to exempt 7 artists? that also contribute so many billions and tourism to their country???
army was silent! we should have protested big time!! but every time I put something like that, everyone said "you have to respect them"
respect what?? That they ruin their career and ruin them as people in a military service that they deserved to exempt???

I had to take several vaccines when I went on an ecotour in Central America. I had to take malaria pills, a vaccine for typhoid and hepatitis. To this day I believe that the typhoid vaccine had a negative impact on my health which lingered for several years. He should sue her and the military should be held accountable. These types of vaccines are no joke and she endangered his health. He and his family should seek legal counsel. BigHit and Hybe should also be looking into this matter. I was under the impression that she went AWOL just to see him. But now I am in shock. She needs to go to jail and if he suffers any adverse or long-term effects then the military has been completely negligent and they need to step up their security. Not just for Jin, but for all the soldiers.

I agree. The S. Korean officials are trying to keep it quiet because of controversy over BTS doing military service. Now you have a nurse who is going AWOL and base hopping to administering unnecessary medicine. How did she get access to Jin? He should have already completed any physicals and because he travels around the world, his immunization records should have been current? Was he falsely called away from his duties so she could meet with him? Who arranged that?
Although it did not happen, what if the nurse was unbalanced. That would have been two opportunities for her to inject Jin with a lethal medication. To heck with the AWOL charge, I think she should be brought up on charges of administering medication not approved by a doctor on active duty personnel. A nurse cannot just go and say, "oh I will give him an injection of this vaccine. It's rarely used so no one will miss it from supplies". What other medications has she taken? What other medicine has she administered without authorization? What other celebrities/athletes doing military service has she had access to? You have got to amp up your military security. For someone to come onto your base and have access to active duty personnel is NUT!!
Also, what does it matter if it was Tylenol? What if it had been morphine or some other lethal medication? Even something as readily available as insulin can kill!!! Stop down playing the seriousness of this situation. If you don't believe me, research Angel of Death Serial Killers. It is scary.

Ok I am still LIVID about this situation.
Having been in the military the things that I know are
    1) without orders you can not leave your base of assignment
2)Supplies at any base are assigned to that base and NO ONE can transfer supplies without requisition orders.
We just had a situation here in the states were a head nurse gave 3 men large doses of insulin, 2 of them died. She is now sitting in jail with no bond possible and charged with 2 counts of murder and 1 of attempted murder.
That said the last thing that has me totally pissed is that so many of Army willingly crucified any who post unauthorized photos of BTS but have decided to remain silent about this violation of Jin.

Hybe also should try to protect better BTS from crazy people…. This is insane and scary …..

Great overview, Sean. This makes me suspect that the Korean military has no idea how to protect the privacy and safety of BTS. When this happened there was only one BTS member in the military. Imagine how this will play out once six members are serving. (Suga will be doing alternate service.) The Korean military is going to have to step up their game. They said BTS had to serve just like every other Korean male but BTS is not, due to their fame, just like everyone else. They had better get with it and figure this out. Oh--and a stamp contest sounds like fun!!!

Thanks for informing. It is important that something so delicate and serious be known, SeokJin is very, very loved and we are proud of every achievement in his military career..
What that person did is too serious, outrageous and worrying. Since we heard the news, we are asking for justice for JIN and for that sick and toxic person to be punished along with those who helped her or facilitated her approaching SeokJin. They must punish that woman and let her punishment be an example to others so as not to do stupid things.I will never forget that SeokJin had discomfort in his arm on the day of the ceremony that he led, and it coincides with the dates of that unfortunate event.
The safety of Jin, the other members of bts and everyone who is serving their country is worrying, it is worrying that the soldiers have to take care of their own personnel who serve the same army.
That person broke the rules and then allegedly talked about JIN. I hope they make their name known and don't cover things up anymore, (although I know the army does things its way).
The government has acted negligently with BTS, each member of BTS is not just any idol, they have a different shine, they are global super stars and they are ambassadors of their country. the government let time go by and they never resolved anything on the issue of bts' military service, JIN had to take action when no one did... Why didn't they reduce his military service time, like they did with the soccer player Song? knowing everything that bts brings to the nation and with the level of excellence that they have represented their country..
Bts have never asked for special treatment, but the least they deserved was for the government to take care of them properly and in my way of seeing things that would reduce their military service time. Bts has given a lot to South Korea..
there is also the bts agency, the agency prefers to make statements denying nonsense, but about issues as important as JIN's, they do not inform their fans. We are worried and upset as we find out what is really important after a while. We want justice for JIN 🌹Although some time has passed since that unfortunate event, let us continue to pray for him and let us be his support and his voice outside.

I live in the USA. I’m a nurse but I have never been in the military but it seems like that nurse would need to have prior authorization and be assigned by her superiors to leave her military base to go to another. Also it seems like she would need doctors orders to give a vaccine to Jin. In the US pharmacist transfer drugs, even Tylenol, from one place to another, not nurses. Policies and procedures are probably different in South Korea. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think she did get a permission to leave, maybe not from the "highest" official. As a non Korean it always seemed to me like it's very hard to do things your own way inside the camp but regardless, her actions speaks a lot about her character. At some point I do understand the "want" to see your idol face to face but not to the point of harming them. I love how you pointed out that the family of the non celebrity soldiers should be more alarmed. Makes you think what other behind the scene things are happening with the other soldiers as this controversy gets spotlighted. Thanks for a great video, Sean! Who really knows what he was vaccinated with. I hope nothing happens to him in the long run. HYBE should fight for the release of Jin and Jhope. And fight for the rest of BTS members not to go to the military. The military was incompetent in protecting one of their own. I don't know the laws in Korea. To me that is considered a felony because she's a registered nurse. She should know that what she did is against the law. ARMY'S IN KOREA FIND A LEGAL WAY TO FIGHT FOR JIN AND JHOPE TO BE RELEASED. AND FIND A LOOPHOLE SO THE OTHER MEMBERS WON'T GO TO THE MILITARY.
